I Think I've Figured it Out
How Kore can remain a Paladin and still slaughter innocents. It's so simple, and has been staring us in the face.

Re: I Think I've Figured it Out
Well, lots of people have discussed that. It'd be nice if you'd tell us, but I do believe there's also already a whole thread dedicated to Kore talk somewhere.
The point is to have fun.

Re: I Think I've Figured it Out
I couldn't find the thread. I remembered what the flea demon said, Kore isn't evil, which made zero sense... until you remember the Axe of Prissain!
There's a philosophy that truly moral actions are the ones that result in the greatest good, so murdering a baby, for instance, is evil, if killing said baby saved a thousand other infants, then killing that babe is the only moral action available.
If any evil creature got hold of that Axe, it would doom the world, so eradicating evil, all evil, even potential evil, is the only moral action available to Kore, no matter how it stains his soul.
He's a monster, but that's just so a worse monster won't take his place. He's tragic.

Here you go, it was on page 2:

The problem with the greater good argument is that it doesn't excuse his methods. Torture is an evil act.

He commits evil actions, no argument there, and I, personally, don't think his alignment should be within a mile of good, but if those actions are to prevent a Demon Lord from torturing everyone for a thousand eternities, then one could argue that they are moral.

Re: I Think I've Figured it Out
It's bad enough that you gave up finding this thread before looking through the second page where it remains, it's also rather grotesque how you so excitedly proclaim that you've made some grand discovery and yet we need to ask you what that is. Is your alleged achievement supposed to be brag-worthy regardless of what your idea is? I can't imagine as much, because your suggestion that the Bladebeard toddler was worth killing for some nebulous "greater good" is best used as toilet paper.
Forgath knows Kore is the Last Greyhill Paladin who collects the souls of his victims, First Flea confessed that his posse cursed Kore, Y&B and Big Ears both declared Kore the Cursed Paladin and future slayer of Forgath to be a paradox in his evil ways, and a tabletop clerk confirmed to me that a mind-altering curse is the only way a for a paladin to do what Kore does. This paragraph needs to be pinned to the forum or something to make sure shit like this is never tolerated again.

...it's just a forum, man. Just don't read the post if it annoys you so much. The link has been provided, and the discussion can go there if there's more to say. No need to be an ass about it.

Hey, maybe he's just having a bad day, or something. You don't give up a forum because of a bad experience, or one member who irks you. We don't know, he might be having the worst day of his life, he might have just received some bad news, he could be hurting... or maybe he's just a dink. I don't know, but take it easy on the guy, and give him the benefit of the doubt.Mott wrote:And now I remember why I stopped visiting this forum.BuildsLegos wrote:It's bad enough that you gave up finding this thread before looking through the second page where it remains, it's also rather grotesque how you so excitedly proclaim that you've made some grand discovery and yet we need to ask you what that is. "Notice:"
Dude, chill. Yes, we prefer to keep the discussion to that thread. But it's not like things are so busy here that we're in danger of getting cluttered. I saw it was a duplicate thread and decided it wasn't worth making a fuss over. The first reply already pointed out the thread existed. Good enough. There's absolutely no reason to lace into someone like this. It's not the atmosphere we want to create, and personal attacks against forum members are explicitly against the rules. You can say what you need to say without trashing people and making them feel unwelcome.
(For the record, the Kore thread is linked in the FAQ thread, which is pinned. But people don't always remember to check such things.)Dude, chill. Hey, I screwed up, and, truthfully, threw some shade his way in the Kore Discussion thread. Like I said, maybe he was having a bad day. It's no big.
