Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
Keep talking and nobody explodes and tabletop simulator are both good games as well. I do suspect that I'm a bit too calm for Keep talking and nobody explodes, at least anyone potentially watching the game, hoping for panicked yelling
I think both games are on sale on steam at the moment and will be till the 4th of january. 10 euros for tabletop simulator and 5 for keep talking and nobody explodes if they want to be the bomb. But I'm sure you can find a place to get it even cheaper if you really wanted to
A lot of the potential multiplayer games are on sale now I think and I'm open to try most of them.
As for talking, I don't think it will be necessary for most games, but I think it might enhance the experience for some of them (I don't want to defuse the bomb and have to read what you guys say!)

I do not have a mic. I could buy one but it would be a bit odd since I don't normally talk when playing on pc.

Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
I could potentially use my laptop's mic. It would raise some questions through the house of who exactly I'm talking to, though. Or maybe they'd just be happy that I'm actually socialising... It's like a 50/50 flip on whether I'd be told to stay away from strangers or someone would go rushing out to buy me a proper headset.
In other news, I tried two new (as in I haven't played them) VR games today. I Expect You To Die is a spy game sort of making jokes about James Bond where you're seating in one place and have to take care of puzzles and problems in a range of levels, has a good sense of humour. And they actually know how VR works. Sure, everything you need is in front of you from where you're seated. but there are neat little details behind you and to the side that you can look at.
The other game is called Unearthed Inc. I went into it expecting a puzzle game, didn't pick up on the information about fighting giant spiders. Or, just one giant spider. Which shoots magic orbs at you. And your only defence is pulling rocks to you and launching them at its eyes. THAT had me moving. Ducking and dodging its attacks because F*** I DON'T WANT TO BE NEAR THIS THING. It's not like I have arachnophobia or anything. There have been times where I would just stare at a spider and watch it make its web, there are some small house spiders that I've picked up and let them crawl around on my hand (It helps that they're such small dweebs that I doubt they could bite me if they wanted to), but a giant spider that's like three times my height? Yeah, no, that's enough of that. Plus all the dodging made my leg feel kind of stiff and uncomfortable.
Other than that, I recently picked up Fantastic Contraption. Tomorrow I may try it. Or I may set my father to it, if he's not too tired.
And no, even if I get a proper headset I won't play Keep Talking as the bomb man while in VR. I'm bad enough with the less stressful games, that would just kill me.

Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
I've got Tabletop Simulator already, so if people want to play on that I'd be up for it. And I don't have "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes", but I've played it before and it is a lot of fun
Also, not sure if it's already been mentioned here, but you can get a bunch of games for $35 on the Humble Bundle right now as part of the Yogscast Jingle Jam. Including Rust and Garry's Mod. It expires tomorrow night though, so you'll have to be quick if you want them!

Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
I have taught my self to stream!..
Or rather I've set up the program so it is able to stream and record my (un)lovely voice and hopefully will still work when I open obs the next time
All that is left is to pick the game(s) and a date! I suggest jackbox as they are simple and don't require anyone to purchase or download anything. As for dates, this and next weekend won't work for me. Any other day should be good enough for me with bit of prior notice.
Even if we decide on another game I think I'll try streaming it anyways just to include anyone that don't have it and want to participate anyways. If we talk using discord or something then I'll likely broadcast that aswell, otherwise I'll have to channel my grandmother and talk to myself for your entertainment.

Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
I've still got about a month and a half free, so I'm up for taking part in Jackbox when it suits others.
Also, I'll... Possibly be able to get on Discord if you need a 'co-host' to talk to, but don't expect me to be a particularly entertaining conversationalist. Talking in real time is like my third worst skill.

Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
If we're doing jackbox party pack, someone is pretty much obligated to stream it. It doesn't seem to have the most basic functionality, namely in the form of, well, opening the game and actually joining the lobby through that. Without someone streaming it (Or being in the same room) no one but the host can really tell what is going on. (speaking from experience)
Anyways, I can probably join on most weekends.

I assume the second worst is deducing what a question is about
So the first available non week days would be the 26. And 27. (Friday and saturday)
And yes, that was the primary reason I was learning how to do so

I came across this website recommendation today for anyone who wants to build a continent map on the fly. It'll do rivers, mountains, country and cultural borders:

It goes very nicely with this city generator:

So it wasn't super clear in the last message and since no one really responded to the date, I'm going to suggest it again.

latest end time (for me) = 2 am GMT +1
I'm not sure when the time will be good for you guys but I assume I'm ready earlier than most of you.

Re: Random Thread 2: the dodge percent
Would saturday be just as good for you Dusk? Because we could change it to that, if it generally attracts more people.
The end time was only put in as that's where my limit is, start time could be much earlier, granted that will get problematic for Americans. I'm going to suggest times in GMT +1 because that is obviously the best timezone and I guess also the one between the others
Found a handy tool to compare the times and is the source for the brief and hopefully entertaining overview of the times below. Timezones used are GMT +1, GMT -8, GMT -5 and GMT +10
So if we start at 8 AM the Americans will be about to go to bed if not already sleeping, Europeans tired but possibly awake while Australians will consider if the should be eating dinner now
12 PM the Americans will be sleeping, Europeans will be up and about while Australians will enjoy their evening, slowly considering if they should get ready for bed
3 PM will have some Americans crawling out of bed, Europeans will enjoy an afternoon snack and Australians groan that they are hitting midnight
6 PM Americans are finally up and about, Europeans getting around to enjoy their dinner and the Australians are sleeping.
9 PM Americans are between lunch and an afternoon snack, Europeans are considering if they should get ready for bed after watching a movie and the Australians will be annoyed that the sun is already up and want to keep sleeping.
00 AM Americans are going strong as the Europeans are groaning about midnight and the fact the sun have been gone for almost 6 hours now, while the Australians are getting up again.
2 AM Americans still got plenty of day left, one European guy streaming has given up and gone to bed while the Australians are ready for a new day.
TL:DR
I suggest we start at 2-3 pm GMT +1 as that might be the sweet spot where all three continents are in a somewhat manageable time for everybody involved, all things considered.
I'll gladly hear any input from you guys
