Edit: here come the questions 2
1) "Up to 1d3+1 attacks can be done in a single "turn" " does this mean I could make as may as 4 attacks in a turn? Or does that mean only 4 characters total can attack in a particular turn?
(maybe this: "Finally, I'm using a list randomizer where I enter every active creature's name and go from top to bottom as a turn order. Rogues move 2 spaces up in the list. After everyone has declared/posted their actions, I'll advance the turn and type things out in the order the list generates" explains it, but I didnt understand that either.)
When there's combat, I'll roll 1d3+1 as and go back and forth (so if I roll 4, both combatants strike twice, a 1 and only the one starting combat gets an attack in, etc). All attacks will happen in the same turn. I debated 1d3+1 for both combatants but decided it was too many, but just one attack a turn would be boring.

The list randomizer is http://www.random.org/lists/ --- I'll enter everyone's name and randomize it, move any rogues two places upward in the list, then go down the list for order of actions.

2) Even with the random buff the journeyman seems underpowered. Am I missing something?[/quote]

Alaen has it right, it's a throw to the Wanderer class of Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. It's supposed to be underpowered. Then again you might get lucky and I might roll +3 across the board.

Well I guess I considered that all classes would be kind of balanced. But then again the mage is slightly op in my opinion when considered against the others.

I will give journeyman a chance, I'm just speculating that even absolutely incredible stats (which its statistically unlikely) will not make up the difference of being unskilled. But like I said, I will give it a shot.

Well, unskilled might not be too bad if your main plan is to Do Combat and Level Up - good luck with the stat rolls, hope you get some good items :)

I rolled, and he rolled well, but he PMed me saying he changed his mind for [redacted]. Don't jump on him for it, either. So we still have just six.

Party of six isn't bad. But, as you pointed out, we're heavy on support and light on front-line fighters. I'm happier as a shaman, but I might switch to warrior if we don't get any more.

When Badge gets back I'm expecting him to join, then we'll kick it off. If not, I may start with just the six. I know a fair amount of people don't check the recruitment thread, so when they see I'm trying to do something like this (with an 8000x8000 pixel-wide map at 200% magnification, which was that first teaser pic of the entrance) we may get more.

What happens if you roll all -3s for a Journeyman?

Then two of them become +6.

Huh. Badge says he's out, too much stuff going on. Well, we have seven, I'll start tomorrow if I get no more.

Wears Hats, what's your character's name? I still have it marked as Unnamed Shaman.

I just had to comment on that.

I may not be in the game, but Hats...when I read your character's name I instantly envisioned him running a magic item store like Crazy Eddie.

Actually.....that gives me a great idea for a character some day. I hope you dont mind me using your name for my future inspiration.

Heh. I remember Crazy Eddie. His commercials were fun. Then it turned out that his prices weren't so much insane as criminal. And when the media started talking about it, it came out that he was Israeli. And we all kind of facepalmed. "Og, great. That will do wonders for the reputation of our people. Way to combat the stereotype. Thanks, Eddie!" And then he went to jail and everyone forgot about him.

Anyway...

Sure, go ahead. You can use it. I'm sure I'm not the first to have thought of it, in any case. Sounds like a fun idea.

Dies - I think you posted in the wrong thread.
You should post in the game thread :)
