I guess we don't have a rogue in the party... Thieves tools is the kit you're looking for gathers.

You don't need a rogue if you have a big enough hammer.

At least we have two clerics for when we have to disarm traps the hard way.

And at least one of them is coming to help! I hope Aimee doesn't die in a storeroom...

Just to clarify, Aimee isn't in a back room, she is outside behind the shop. They have set up a "training area for people who want to try out their weapons before buying.
The man in the leather apron is the blacksmith who makes most of these weapons, and is a halfway decent judge of combat ability. Nobody is getting murdered (yet).

Okay, so since Sam ruled that the ride back into town (for those on the cart, which Kryz graciously allowed Saca to ride) counts as short rest, I am going to apply that now retro-actively.
I think I can roll ONE d8 plus constitution bonus and add that to my current HP (since I'm level one). Anything else? Someone mentioned a spell slot, but I didn't see that as part of the description here: https://5thsrd.org/adventuring/resting/#short-rest

Your short rest HD application is right on Gathers.
Aimee, as a warlock, gets her spell slots back from both short and long rests. Clerics get theirs only from long rests.

short rest (hp regen roll): 1D8+2 = [3]+2 = 5
Yay, almost at full HP again.

As a note, since it sounded like it be something you were thinking, gathers... Amiee's Hex gives the target disadvantage on ability checks, not saving throws. So it won't make them more likely to fail against your command, but there might be interactions where you can command them to try to do something that will need an ability check they'd be more likely to fail?

Re: The Lost Mines of Phandelver OOC
I -was- thinking that, but only because Rodgeir implied it. Thank you for clarifying, spider.Rodgeir wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 5:38 am Gathers - Aimee can set up a person to be more susceptible to being charmed by hexing them. She also is going to be able to change appearance at will (if I choose that). Eventually she could be able to change her voice as well (with the Actor's feat), but this kind of falls into Saca's areas as well. She is generally quite good a persuading, lying and sneaking. Soonish she will be able to read people's minds too, making for even more convincing lying and persuading.
She can also go more combat oriented but I wasn't planning for that as much.

Re: The Lost Mines of Phandelver OOC
Weeelllll.... Depending on how Rodgeir meant that, he might have been talking 'charmed', not 'charmed'.
If a hexed person is given Disadvantage on Wisdom ability checks, it would affect their Wisdom (Insight) checks made to oppose any Deception or Persuasion, so they may be more readily charmed.
It won't affect their susceptibility to spells with an effect where they'd be charmed if they fail their Save, since hex doesn't alter saves.

Nope, while I appreciate the attempt to defend my poor reading of the hex spell I meant both. Good to get that cleared up early!
I guess Aimee now knows Saca can make her sneakier too Gathers?

Re: The Lost Mines of Phandelver OOC
Yeah, she would tell the spells/cantrips she can do atm (spells prepared) and depending on how long they can talk and/or how interested Aimee is, she would also go into the spells she can theoretically do (the ones she doesn't have prepared atm, but could pick at any long rest in the future).
Also, I doubt that a cleric would understand how any magic (other than clerical magic) works, so Saca wouldn't even be interested in HOW Aimee can do what she can do. Not sure that was your point in the IC post, but it's not like Saca would want to mimic others, she's quite happy with who she is.

Aimee would listen attentively and enthusiasticly to everything Saca says.
Aimee isn't worried about Saca trying to mimic her, just keeping her mouth shut for her own reasons.

So, did Cal take the oil flasks and the gold, or was he already 'out of it' due to Lewis? XD

Re: The Lost Mines of Phandelver OOC
Okay, just out of curiosity: How good is the "disguise self" spell? I mean could Saca make herself appear like a goblin?
In the description it says, among other things that one can appear 1 ft taller or smaller than they really are. What's the average height of a goblin?
Also, what is the average INT score of a goblin (since to wisen up on this being an illusion is INT based)?
I guess it will still pose a problem because she can't understand what they would say, in case the goblins try to talk to her...

Re: The Lost Mines of Phandelver OOC
Saca's seen goblins so I would hazard that she could appear like one!
It is probably common knowledge in the world that goblins are around 3 ft tall and aren't dumber than the average human. Saca could probably get away with being a goblin if she hunches a bit but you nailed the biggest issue of only looking like a goblin - Saca doesn't speak their language. They all speak common but it would likely get their suspicious up if Saca used that instead of their native tongue.
Might be a great way to run in somewhere yelling in fright and pointing behind you but regular infiltration would be tough I'd guess.

Yeah. Appearing as a goblin might be tough. If they roll low on their int rolls it might work, but not for long.
