Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Not a problem, I've been sick this week which is the only reason I've been on so much. Normal service will resume next week
Good luck with the grading, I hope it's not terrible.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
You know, I got to looking over Randy's equipment list again and just realized he must look as intimidating as hell right now. He's quite literally armed to the teeth. 3 daggers, two short swords, a long bow, a halberd, and a baby nuke. ( I'm suddenly hearing the 12 days of Christmas in my brain). He's dressed in a dark cloak and has a black painted breast plate and dark clothes. Yeah, nothing to see here folks, just move along....

So far it looks like everyone has decided to fort up.

Yup, starting rooms keep low init folks from getting wiped, but give the timid a place to hide. I'll be back in a place I can resume running things by this time next week (possibly earlier). Guess we'll see then if you've managed to wrap up the battle royale by then, and go from there!

My only way to survive this is to play the true battle royal strategy and try to bunker up, so I for one don't mind my mighty wall overlords.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I mean, "Let them kill each other off first" is always a viable strategy, but it's success is frequency dependent, tends to be better if you're the only one adopting it.

I tried to set the map up to be both challenging and fair. That's why the only way to get from one side of the map to the other would be dashing.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Not knocking your map. Tis a good map.
If the battle royale isn't wrapped up by the time I'm ready to resume the campaign, do I get to join with the full strength version of Zihuassal?

Hey, he tried! He just wasn't as powerful as he remembered. You guys definitely lucked out on him not getting around to using a couple of his abilities, with the initial diplomacy/stall tactics, and then Roxy showing up to wreak house.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Yeah, I think if it was me and roxy vs the whole team, I would win hands down.
Seeing as how roxy could defeat each person with potentially one hit each.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Walking it back from the "I can take on the whole party solo" stance?
I'm wagering that Roxy could have take the party solo... she doesn't need some puny tiefling (as long as she wasn't turn limited).

I reckon we could manage her, but we'd need a bit of luck, a lot of planning, and favourable terrain...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I'm not sure if we should be allowing prepared actions in this battle royale, imho. It's just gonna turn everything into "turtle up and get ready to shoot back" rather than actually going out and attacking.
Know what we need? Loot drops in the middle of the arena to get all of us to rush out.

Eh, Coljin will start the action by running out next round, then maybe the fun will begin.
With Sanctuary maybe he will actually be able to get close enough to someone (Even with his stort legs) to actually do something before he is dead.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I think it'll work itself out to be honest, but 5e is 100% not designed for PC PvP because it's super unbalanced. This is only happening because badge wanted to murderise everyone Readied actions are part of the strategy is all
We could try different arenas in the future maybe? Or just go back to the campaign like normal and forget about it!
I do think we should probably ban ALL one-use items (including healing potions) because otherwise we'll be here all month. Healing spells / abilities are ok (because that's part of some classes).

mmm...perhaps next map we'll start naked of any equipment, and have a bunch of weapons and armor in the center of the map.

That would massively favour spellcasters, druids and barbarians just FYI

If that a thing that's going to happen, then I'm totally fine with there being a +5 full plate of spell negation! It only takes 100 rounds to get it on

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
And some of us take dexterity penalties if we use heavy armor. Good protection, but no offense. Sounds like a winning combination to me!

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
And caster's can't cast spells if wearing armor they aren't proficient in... hmmm... I'll keep that in mind if I ever need to imprison the party.... put you all in full plate and bolt you to the wall.
