Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 3
A high level mage watches the games and decides to cast a timewarp spell leaving only himself and Pats dragons any memory of the event. Pats dragons uses theis knowledge wisely and aims for the shins.

So glad that's fixed, 1-2 instead of 4-1 is a huge difference in score. Now if I could only find some reason I why I should have won my roll. 0-4 would have been great.

Yeah sorry, it's a bit of a slap in the face to see how well you did first, only to have it then ripped away by a small math error... I'm not gonna complain though since it is a huge difference in our favor.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 4
It's okay.
In this game we can correct these errors.
Which is good.
I'm starting to wonder if I should have chosen differently. Being defender you earn XP by winning tussles, and not by running on enemy territory half...

Hm? Why wouldn't you get advancement exp? Any character can get advancement exp, though only once unless you capture the enemy flag.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 3
As defender I get one XP for a successful tussle in our half. The offender also gets one XP for being in our half.
And I assume defenders will be the ones who are more likely to stay behind....
That's just all I wanted to point out.
Not enough experience with the game yet to note how it will work out in the long run.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 3
I know, but defenders have a slight bonus when staying in their field half...
Because this might be the compensation for the "easy" XP when going into opponent territory...
But then attackers get only 3 xp, until they captured the flag at least once. Only then will the counter be reset... (so Righteous Charger and Bravely Runs Away cannot gather more XP for reaching into enemy territory again, until the flag has been captured - if I interpret this correctly. Or will the counter also be reset when having been sent back to the home row?)
Anyway, there are XP missing for Pats Dragons (twice), and Dreamer for sending an opponent back to their home row.,SeeAMoose wrote:- Defender. Gets +10% when Guarding or Tackling on own half. (In combat, defenders have +1 defense instead.)
Or are those not cumulative?SeeAMoose wrote:- Experience
In practise matches, players get:
1xp for winning a tussle
1xp for sending an opponent back to their back row
3xp for participating in a successful flag capture
1xp for each row into the opponents side they advance. The maximum row reached is reset when/if the opponent flag is successfully captured.
1xp for being on the winning team.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 3
No Problem.
I'm sure I'll be re-reading the rules quite often until they get stuck sufficiently good enough.
I edited above with more questions, regarding XP for reaching into enemy territory.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 3
Yeah, NotImportant went through several changes back in the day, and eventually we ended up with a what seems to be a very simple concept which actually ends up having a lot of depth behind it. The +1 to sending someone back is indeed meant to give defenders a bit of a exp buff. With that being said, it's alright to be a bit selfish - That 3 advancement exp can be a big boon in the long run, so you shouldn't not grab that just because you fare much better at the defending deal. Of course, ideally you'd likely want to do that at a time where it's actual opportune.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 5
Everyone got me their moves early so... Early Update!
Turn 5, part 1. Score: 1-2.
Mines respawns in A1 as Righteous respawns across the field in his flag square. Runs Away and Dreamer advance up the field together. Meanwhile the reds advance in a flanking motion with No Name sprinting up top while Pats advances below.
Turn 5, part 2. Score: 1-2.
Mines and Righteous advance forward after respawning. Both of the other reds continue their advance, each entering blue territory for the first time earning 1 xp each. Runs Away moves forward as No Name almost sprints past him. Which leaves Dreamer to tackle an empty square.
Blue Team
Mines Flags: 2xp
Dreamer: 2xp
Bravely Runs Away 3 xp
Red Team
Has No Name 1xp, Suffers a 5% penalty for sprinting and cannot sprint for 2 turns.
Pats Dragons 5xp
Righteous Charger - 3xp
Next moves due by 8:00PM EST on Monday (about 50 hours from now). However, if I get all of the moves by tomorrow evening I will update then.

Re: CTF Game 1 Turn 6
Turn 6, part 1. Score: 1-3.
Mines tackles into a now empty A3 as respawns in A1 as Pats retreats... or does he? Looks like he turned around. Righteous moves across the field. Dreamer just stands around for a bit, seemingly waiting for something. Finally, Runs guards, trying to prevent No Name from advancing any further.
No Name successfully slips by despite being tired from sprinting the turn before, he earns 1 point and 1 xp for dodging and 1 xp for advancing.
Turn 6, part 2. Score: 1-4.
Runs can only watch as No Name continues his advance (earning 1xp for advancing. Dreamer tackles forward into an empty square in Red territory. Righteous guards his square. Pats charges back and tackles Mines.
Pats hits Mines HARD, earning yet another point for the Red team and 1 more xp for himself.
Blue Team
Mines Flags: 2xp, Suffers a 5% penalty for missing a tackle.
Dreamer: 3xp, Suffers a 5% penalty for missing a tackle.
Bravely Runs Away 3 xp
Red Team
Has No Name 4xp, Cannot sprint for 1 turn.
Pats Dragons 6xp
Righteous Charger - 3xp
Next moves due by 8:00PM EST on Tuesday (about 46 hours from now). However, if I get all of the moves by tomorrow evening I will update then.
Sorry Blue team, you all got a really rough break on rolls this turn.

- "Camping"
Sometimes, it might be strategically important to keep a player out of the action by attacking them repeatedly. In order to prevent this from being a way to gain exp and points, there are two restrictions.
1: After a player wins a tussle against an opponent, one of them has to leave that square before the winner can get exp or team points for winning a tussle against that same opponent again.
2: Winning a tussle against someone "standing up" after being pinned does not yield exp or team points.
Edit- this is what i was thinking of but now on rereading i think iyour right i just need it bumped up to 6 xp by my name.

keyword: again
So you gain the the 1xp, so if you just stayed there trying to keep him down, you wouldn't gain further xp, but you still gain it the first time.
