I've never played Battletech, but I enjoy the look of the mechs in that game. Overall I've found that I prefer all my scifi machinery to be more primitive and dirty over the sleek, shiny look.Nerre wrote:Nice one. My old pictures look similar, but my current ones don't. Make me feel like I suck since my drawing ability did not improve since 2000. Some years back I just had less and less time to continue drawing. And I did not get into computer drawing until I got a Wacom lately. Most of my pictures are still only on paper, did not scan in many yet. First time I felt like the computers advanced far enought to allow drawing like I want it to.
One of my very first attempts is a fight scene in a battletech game I played, it was a 5 min sketch:► Show Spoiler
Battle damage, dirt, pipes, wires, grinding gears. All that stuff. That's pretty much why I prefer the Serenity and Millenium falcon over the Enterprise.
I haven't drawn many scifi things since I'm pretty much exclusively a fantasy nerd, but I did this thing last year I think.
