First of All let me tell you my name -
That was it, I just did, it's quite plain
To see that my Teller
Was an odd sort of fella
But if you let me, I'll try to explain!
On the day of my birth, he'd no vision,
No idea of a path I'd begin on -
They pushed for a name,
"Oh alright!" he exclaimed,
And began with a stern admonition!
"First of All," said my crotchety Teller,
"Than to pester me, you should know better!
I haven't a clue,
So bugger off, shoo!
Obey me, because I'm your Elder!"
Well my parents knew not what to call
This girl bundled up in a shawl,
There's already "Alright"
And a "Shoo!", a "Good Night" -
So they had to use "First of All!"

Name: Naps in Front of Doors (will answer to either Naps or Doors and doesn't seem to have a preference)
Gender: female
Color: C7F0B4
Backstory: Naps hails from a smallish clan somewhere far, far away to the north. How she ended up in these parts, well, that's a long story and we won't bother boring you, you know, nothing more than the usual way to get anywhere, lots and lots and lot and lots of walking. Why she left, a completely different story, not likely to be very interesting to those most esteemed members of the GAL whose tales are far more thrilling. Let's just say she left home and doesn't expect to be missed. She is not miffed at all about it, no, no, not at all. Frankly, she couldn't care less what happened to everyone back in her clan.
She did not understand her name until she had to live up to it. One day, she was shut out. In her clan there are certain acts which, while not crimes, are worthy of great shame. Something happened, and her involvement in one of said acts was revealed. If they had expected her to simply go away, she did not. She was determined to irk them with her presence until they or she gave up; that was her unspoken ultimatum and she was determined that she, at least, would not fail. But then, time passed and her tenacity little by little weakened, and then more time. She forgot her purpose, and having no need to stay, she chose no direction in particular and started walking.
And while I'm at it.
"Poets,"Naps mutters to herself with contempt before searching out a quiet corner of the room and situating herself in it, hoping that no particularly bad poets show up to be in earshot.

Down by the Swamp
Most of the goblins head through the portal, leaving
Dies and
Forks (?) behind. As they step through the gateway, it shimmers and fades behind them.
On the other side, they find themselves in what looks to be some kind of temple. A voice speaks:
"Welcome travellers, to the shrine of the Dawnstar. Rest a while and be welcome."

I waited a little longer for SGTdude to come back, but time and tide wait for no man I'm afraid.

Technically I should probably wait till I get back from my adventure, but creative juices struck:
A bard strode in and offered us gold
Money for a good limerick, he told
But what he did not offer
Something not from his coffer
As a desire for his hat took hold
No, seriously, I want the hat. WhatÔÇÖs it going to take?

"oooohhhShiney!"
Forges looks for a seat or something to rest on, seeing none he remains where he is and wonders if that thing up the top is parchment with something written on it, he might be able to copy.

"Thank you. It's nice to come to a place and be welcomed. You know, instead of being attacked by a swarm of rats or something. Can you tell me where we are? Who or what is Dawnstar? It's nice to rest, and this is a lovely place, but are we waiting for something or someone?"

*A goblin slips into the inn, softly closing the door behind him as he pulls his hood further over his head to conceal his face. He quietly makes his way to a table in one of the darker recesses of the inn, and shakes his head briefly to the barkeep enquiring if he'd like something to drink.*

Backstory: Very little can be discerned from looking at Leaves No Trace apart from a dour personality and a thick cloak with hood. Upon speaking to him you discern even less.

Welcome to the Inn
You can have a cloak no problem, but it will be for aesthetics only (i.e. you will get no in-game benefit from it compared to anyone else and can't use it as an item in any way). That ok? It's the same rule as applies to Senor Costa's moustache or Mines' hat.

The Temple of Dawnstar
"oooohhhShiney!"
"Indeed."
"Thank you. It's nice to come to a place and be welcomed. You know, instead of being attacked by a swarm of rats or something. Can you tell me where we are? Who or what is Dawnstar? It's nice to rest, and this is a lovely place, but are we waiting for something or someone?"
"We are in a place between worlds here. It is a resting place, safe from outside interference. Mostly. It can only be found at particularly rare times and we can choose who we allow to enter. The Dawnstar is the symbol of our god and we stay here in his honour, though I believe he is probably dead... As for you my friend, I cannot say why you are here. What were you expecting to find?"
"Hi! Your shrine is really nice. What's its purpose? Do you get a lot of travellers through these parts?"
"It's purpose is to be. But no, it has been many long years since anyone has passed this way. I suppose it's our fault for anchoring a celestial gateway in a swamp."

"That's a cool...box thingy...you have there. Is it like a tribute to the Dawnstar? We have tributes at our shrines sometimes. You know, people leave stuff for our God, as a thankyou for... being a God, and stuff."

TL - Is there anyway I can retroactively have gone through the portal since thats what I would have done?
I have been away because when I found out I had received official status as a disabled veteran I thought I would be ok. It really kind of spiralled me off into a kind of relapse. I am sorry I have been away. I can post an IC action, I just wanted to know where Odd was first.
Sorry and thanks

On the scale of pretty legit reasons, I think that one comes up somewhere near the top

"What were you expecting to find?"
"I was certain we were about to find treasures of some sort. Not an ancient and cultural sort of treasure though.. Do you have any useful treasure or something to drink? It've been a while since I had something to drink because we waited for the portal to open."
Steals looks around trying to locate something out of sorts

Odd Duck:
"So you said you are waiting, what are you waiting for? Is it the deity that the shrine is dedicated to? And why do you think he is dead?"

"Greeting new goblins who have just entered
My name is Dashon Snow the Bard Presenter
Nice to met you
and you too
If you want you can call me the Limerick Inventor.
There once was a goblin who wanted my hat
but they were to far away for me to have heard that
So for now i'll not say
Coz there might be a way
for that item gained, with some future tit-for-tat

A noble quest did stop me from being heard
But that hat still left me quite allured
A speed return
For which I yearn
To claim said prize with the spoken word
You may not hear that but its a promise!

I find that your rhymes lack in meter
Anapest's what to use, it's the leader
in limerick rhyme,
It'll keep things in time
And make all your poems look neater!
(Seriously though... limericks don't just have a rhyming word at the end of the sentence in AABBA formation... they have a sort of galloping meter to them... without it it they sound wrong and ick when read aloud
