Re: Thread of Unknown Purpose...OOC for Immortals

Right then, as a serious question, can I in any way tell how long I've got before she bleeds out proper, or are you ruling a plot insta-death outside of normal rules?
...haaaaa didn't think my roll had gone through, fixed a typo and clicked to roll again. Wound up with two rolls literally 10 apart. Joy. I believe the lower one rolled first unfortunately, but I'll post both since I wound up rolling twice by accident.
1d20+11 =[17, 27] (Heal check?)
Retrieving something on my person is a move action, so I can get to the holy water relatively easily. If I spend the time to hand an item over, that'll spend the turn, so what I mostly need to know is if I have more than one turn before she bleeds out, since this thing will take a good amount of time to regenerate. Otherwise, I have stabilize on my spell list.

She isn't dead yet...you can tell that...I am going to make her a b*** to completely stabilize. (I'm doubling the points rate loss on her because of the internal damage done by pulling the bolt back out... So you have a few turns before she's beyond your reach but she's not 'gone for good..."

And with a DC of 15 you got at least first aid partially taken care off and she's still be only loosing 1 HP per round versus 2 HP per round.
Really...why are you reading this?

Oh, I was basically asking if I could use the heal just to see if I could tell how she was doing looking over, since it's a standard action to actually provide standard first aid, and I'd have to move over there. (That does provide the information I was looking for, however.)
I actually can just cast stabilize when my turn comes back up. I have 35 feet of range with it, and it auto-stabilizes.

I've got an idea for helping the woman, but I'll let Quarg decide how it plays out.

Hmmm... I need to go back and see what Arg knows/saw. I may need to change his actions.

The women. Wasn't sure if I could do both, and wanted to double check RP wise that he didn't need to be targeting Jager, but he would have seen her try to attack, Jager shoot her, her rip the bolt out and tell to the other women. Steward said M was suspicious of a woman, but it would be his 'attaboy' to Jager that would keep Arg's suspicions from landing on the tall weirdo.

Not sure how much of a threat these two are... or the downed cook, but probably don't want to leave them alone down here with the catatonic elf. Anyone good with rope? Arg may arguably be the least useful in the firefight above, but he'd not volunteer for guard duty, and if the pirate ship comes close enough, he's boarding her.

Ah but they aren't telling outright lies from their perspective...A woman they know most of their lives has claimed she's been murdered by someone unknown and foreign to them.
They do see a crossbow bolt in her and that the person with the crossbow is Jager.

And then Mikta takes his hot gun barrels and pokes them into the woman's body (cauterizing the wound but how would they know that..they don't even know if she's dead or alive...)
And if confronted by the 'truth' from a stranger...they are likely going to assume they are lying. A respectable advocate would likely parse out their assumptions and harp on the whole pulling out the bolt bit...but she's not lying now...

He did. And Makita burned her, but she's lost consciousness. I think what Burns was saying was that the other two women may be 'evil' too if they saw the cook summon the skeleton... and there was that talk of a master...

Jäger has possibly the worst bedside manner in existence. Every time he opens his mouth, I silently pray he'll come across as awkward, but not about-to-snap-and-maul-you-oh-god-why awkward.

Ahem.
How are you ruling possession? I'm familiarish with BoVD from 3.5's rules, but beyond that I...yeah.. 3.5 never had proper solid ruling, and I frankly don't know how Pathfinder handles it. Lots of 3rd party stuff, but it's hard to find official rulings.
Do you have a set way of handling an exorcism? There are (high level) spells to get rid of demons, but they tend to involve physically attacking the...demon, which one can't really do when it's currently meat-hopping...I think they're also limited to clerics and paladins. Is there a ritual setup, or?
I did roll a knowledge planes, though I just hit dc15, really. (Getting my knowledges up is likely where ALL 7 of my skill points are gonna go next level :b )

Because of needing to have possession be part of the overall story line I'm going to fairly keep it both broad but mostly my own 'homebrew' aka world build version.

Dycott's Arcane Diseases

Possession
Possession, the existence of a soul, corporal entity, or similar not native to the host either having access to the host's mind, body or both. Typically, possession can be classified into three types, though historically four have been recorded:
  • Puppeteer - A soul, typically from a plane that can not exist in our plane has complete control over the body of the host. Puppeteer possessions are marked by the victim displaying no sensitivity to fear, pain, and physical acts completely astounding and unnatural for the body it possesses. Puppeteer hosts are usually nothing more than a 'hollowed out meat shell' (See Potekin Undead Creatures Illustrated) and will become zombies after the possessing soul has left. Puppeteer hosts will not stop until body is completely destroyed.
  • Rider-Typically Demonic, either as agent of evil or escaped evil soul, will inhabit the unused mind of a host. Depending on duration of infestation will slowly gain complete control of the hosts body and lock away host's mind. Thee likelihood of slowly eating host's soul exists. Rider possessions are marked by either the appearance of two distinct personalities in the host, or a complete change in personality. Rider's alignment will be detectable during 'riding sessions.' Also, demonstrates only wild, self satisfying behavior at feeding times. Feeding times marked by creating chaos, pain, or sucking life force to feed the Possessing soul. Religious ceremony and holy water most effective on forcing riders into appropriate enclosed vessels or soul boxes such as skulls. Riders will feel the pain of their hosts so contra-aligned energy is quite effective in breaking them. (See purification ceremony standard)
  • Agent-The Possessor can be Demonic, Angelic, Extra Planer, or Other. This is the most benign form of possession where the host is usually in control. The host contracts with the Possessor to advise them and/or supply them with various powers and/or knowledge. Typically the host must pay a 'fee'. The fee is doing what the Possessor desires or requires at a given time. Such fee actions can be anything from evil to benevolent, depending on the Possessor. Detection of an Agent possession can be quite difficult. The Possessor's alignment is undetectable unless they are forced to become a rider. Agents are immune to the host's emotions and feelings, so physical attacks are ineffective in dissuading the agent. However the exact opposite alignment energy has been shown to be effective against the Agent far more than the host. It is reported for evil agents that application of holy water can induce movement into an acceptable enclosed vessel or skull.
  • Pseudo-Golem-Historically the Red Kitsune were known to have experimented in turning living creatures into effectively 'flesh golems' by use of physically inserting a Golem Stone linked to an instruction sheet into the host. However, the stone was typically rendered useless over time by the body removing the golem stone or the stone degrading within the host's body. Host was compelled to do any order to them contained on the instruction sheet. Some 'Golem Masters' are claimed to have perfected the art of the Golem Puppet with complete control over the host, effectively being able to remotely operate the hosts body from afar. Typical descriptions of such infestations included immunity to fear and pain similar to a Puppeteer but lack of any enhancements. It is widely believed that such knowledge was lost when the Red Kitsune were thrown out of Navaida and that it today a whip is far cheaper in keeping slaves inline.

was that possession writeup also my knowledge planes return? (Also I thought that was my turn. o-o ) Since it was partially directed at NPCs as well.
My understanding was that (since they all effectively need guarding, and we have a possessed individual on board,) he was better suited remaining and dealing with that.
