Burns....at what point did you think, if my character chops up these people and eat them...I'm not such a bad guy?

I know you were, but what you said just reminded me of Bill for some reason.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Hmm? Oh I dodn't se it.
Anyways, Maji does not see it as evil, because if they are dead it's not like they are going to use thier body anyways and using it is much better than letting it go to waste. And they were cultists/bandits anyways bent on trying to kill innocent people/us. He's always been on the darker grey of neutral.

If they aren't dragonborn, how is it cannabalism?

I think it's less about cannibalism than eating other intelligent creatures that is frowned upon in D&D

I dunno, they attacked us so I don't think they were that intelligent.

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I kind of agree with Burns here. How is eating the meat of a dead person worse than burying them in the ground to rot, or burning them in a pyre? There are quite a LOT of human cultures through history who believe(d) that consuming the flesh of a fallen enemy (e.g. heart / brain) was a sign of respect to the fallen and would allow the victor (consumer) to gain their strength.
IMO, eating dead people isn't inherently evil in and of itself, but instead depends on the intentions / belief system of the person doing it.

I believe the point where the alignment changed for Maji was after he castrated the cultist and not when he wanted to eat them

That's when I noticed and made the change in the sheet, but with a backstory of capturing humans and selling them as food/slaves...

I thought we changed that due to being too dark/evil along with the underdark stuff.

Did we? It was still in your backstory I have. I don't remember what the discussion was at the time...Arch Lich Burns wrote:I thought we changed that due to being too dark/evil along with the underdark stuff.

Here's my opinion...if you're going to go evil...don't shy away from it. A couple years ago I was in a group playing as a gnome bard who was pure chaotic evil, to the point of torturing people for answers and then killing them afterwards and hiding the body and then attacking someone who called him out for it...he eventually died and came back as a lich I think..given his dealings with demons and the undead...which is another long story...basically...if you're gonna go evil...enjoy it.

Yea I found where we discussed it. At least your portion of it. I pm another user too much to have my side on there still.
Badge: I always have fear that the party would try to murder me for alignment. And I'm not sure if I can pull it off. I think I will stick with being slightly evil for now.

Oh burns, silly boy, zephyr would never try and kill baby bear...unless he and the rest of the group were all unconscious.

If things Badge says are representative of Z's internal monologue, she might have the most evil thoughts of the party... no one else has been confident they could TPK the rest of the party solo...

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
actually...unlike many of my previous characters, Zephyr is not greedy...which takes away a good amount of the evil which typically consumes them. Typically my alignment is Selfish-Evil...
Now I think it's apathetic-evil...which if evil at all, is more likely to be neutral evil, or chaotic neutral. neutral in the "doesn't give a shit about much of anyone" kind of way. Chaotic in the "runs into battle" kind of way.
^^

He says this because he and I may have had conversations at length about whether or not Zephyr could kill the entire group...buy Holgers sleep spell usually puts an end to that quickly... She's much more likely to wait until everyone is almost dead to strike.spiderwrangler wrote:If things Badge says are representative of Z's internal monologue, she might have the most evil thoughts of the party... no one else has been confident they could TPK the rest of the party solo...

IIRC, I gave you a second shot with Holger out of spells and still took you to the woodshed.

Yeah, that sounds pretty evil What is her reason to stay with us then if not gold or kinship?

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
Back when we were all level 1 I think Holger would have had the best shot at killing the whole party, granted two sleep spells should be enough to put the whole party to sleep. Granted I've gotten twice as many spells to cast now
I can't remember if you tested it by having zephyr declare she's going to kill us all or if she was trying to do it as a surprise attack

Re: The Sundered Way - OOC
I'm/Zephyr is very much in the "biding of time"....and would be more likely to kill all of you when it wouldn't end up in her being dead too.
But it was just theoretical stuff of "I think I could take on the whole party" and spider proving me wrong in several different ways. I think that my best shot at TPKing would be if we were somewhere like where we are, dark, tunnels, etc...in which she would have an advantage.
