Can't argue with that -- although I'm glad 'puke' didn't. So, by that argument 'read' SHOULD have worked. Maybe THunt will explain it -- or fix the coloring.spiderwrangler wrote:If it's based on mental concept, then if 'grape' means a particular color to MM, that should have triggered.Jochi wrote: I'd hoped for the punnish interpretations, but it's just as valid to say (as other have) that it's a matter of intent, that a color is more a mental concept than a string of phonemes, and if Minmax didn't mean 'red', then saying 'read' or 'redd' wouldn't trigger the change.

ok so Kin got her teapot and she can get Minmax and Forgath out. But how is she going to get out? Will she have to run the maze again? Or more gear tweaking?

Re: 4 October 2013: Racist Axe
So the Chameleon Armor doesn't read the wearer's mental image of a color ("pukish"), but does change based on verbally stated colors - but not homonyms ("red", "read").
So I'm thinking it is pretty intelligent - able to parse speech to recognize use of a true color word.
Poor thing - a mind trapped in armor, unable to speak or act for the most part, enslaved to always and eternally fulfill just one rather silly function - listening for color words and changing hue to match.
Maybe Kin could figure this out:
Kin: "Armor: Turn Green for Yes, Red for No, Yellow for Maybe, Gray for 'I don't know. Do you understand?"
[Armor turns Green...]
MinMax: "That's creepy! I'm taking it off."

AAAKH! I gotta get new glasses. I read "twerking", and that was just wrong. Bad enough in a biped.Starfire wrote:ok so Kin got her teapot and she can get Minmax and Forgath out. But how is she going to get out? Will she have to run the maze again? Or more gear tweaking?

The axe could allow them to rerun the maze again before MM draws Oblivious again, if indeed the next time (as many think) is on the bridge in front of the GAP. MM would view the other mm's as the most dangerous opponents in the maze, and a +7 against the other hims would be a big advantage if they were to run the maze again. That would allow him, F and K to leave together without her needing to use the teapot at this time. I could also see him asking the ring party "Remember me?" and the Oblivious future flash having been a misdirect.

If they run the maze again, he doesn't get to keep the axe. That's why Ruby, Onyx & Sapphire didn't take anything.

Just thought I'd point this out: How much of a dick move is it that the Maze of Many gives you a weapon that's perfect for fighting copies of yourself at the end of the Maze, when you can never go back in?

In my school we were making rates for dickmoves... that would be 6/10 moderate dickness, no harm, much irony.

I agree. My first thought when I saw this ax's description was of the tower room.Godbot wrote:Just thought I'd point this out: How much of a dick move is it that the Maze of Many gives you a weapon that's perfect for fighting copies of yourself at the end of the Maze, when you can never go back in?

Sicne he was away from his home (conventions), it's unlikely he had much time to do Goblinscomics.
And I hope he enjoyed himself.
That his batteries are recharged.

Also, he got sick -- picked up one of those horrid convention bugs. According to his Twitter, the night he got home it turned to an all-night coughing session. So... knowing his crazy dedication, I expect he'll try his best. But don't hold it against him if he needs to spend a day or two flat on his back.

I would hold it in his favour if he finally did.
Just to make sure that he's finally fully back to health.
