It... it has been quite the disaster.
The land has vanished, the sky has fallen, everything - EVERYTHING - that has been known and loved has become just a mere remnant of hazy thoughts.
Still, the goblins have survived. They have found a new home world, which contains many dangers, but also a great many hidden skills and abilities that help the goblins overcome the aforesaid dangers. Oh, and there's mines too. A lot of them. An annoyingly lot of them, actually. So it is again up to our brave heroes to clean the lands from the mines, monsters and treasures that have been carelessly left lying all around the place.
Such a tedious task.
So...
... who is up for it?

Game Rules - Introduction
► Show Spoiler
If you have played Minesweeper games in your life, you probably know the drill: click on a field, see a number in it, which shows you how many mines are around said field. If you manage to find all the non-mine fields, you win. If you haven't played such a game in your life, it might be a good idea to try it some day, it's quite addictive if you like logical puzzles. So, stop reading and go and play some now! Come back when you feel more confident.
Congratulations, now you are fully qualified to understand and play this game! Oh, you never bothered to check it yet? Never mind, I'm sure the veterans will help you out, so just join anyway.
Those of you who have played my or Burns' Minesweeper games now probably know what you can expect. To you, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you will meet many familiar elements in the game, regarding skills, map, equipment and monster mechanics. The bad news is that you won't be able to play your old characters the way you have left them. It's not because I have lost them. No, I have them sitting in an excel sheet allright. The reason you can't play them is because I only have the skills written up vaguely in my docs and in no way I'll be bothered to make that long post again for now. Also, I have changed the skill system. Not the skills themselves, they are probably all the same, but the way you will be getting/developing and combining them. Wait, combining? Oh yes. But let's not hurry about this topic, yet. I also thought that a fresh start would be in order for one more reason: maybe you didn't like the skill set you obtained but sticked to it anyway? Or got jealous of someone elses strategy? Or you felt it was too strict on how to go? Then you can have a fresh start now! Of course, if you liked your old character, you may want to build something similar. I'm not stopping you, you will have the chance, don't worry.
Let's start with the game rules! I know you will probably just skip them and post you application hoping you haven't volunteered to become some organ donor (hidden somewhere in the line #145), but still, here is the general idea:
Rules moved away
here.
Application
Your first task to apply to this game is to get here in the wall of text. Congratulations, you have just completed it! I don't care if you skipped everything above, there wasn't anything important there, really. So, how do you apply?
- Post your goblin's name. (And the gender, if you like, because I'm known to mix those up.)
- Post the color. This will be the color it will have on the map, and the color in the forum texts. If the color is not really readable in text, I will only refer to it. I'm using the fancy forum design, so colors I deem unreadable might differ in the old silver design, I'm sorry.
- Post a short background story of your character. (This is not a must, only for fancies.)
(- If you are a veteran, feel free to start a new character or recall your old one, in which case it will keep its custom color and flag. It will lose all the levels, skills and equipment it has gathered, though!)
Info on Round 0
- It will be a training map with square tiles, 12x10 tiles in total. It will contain 40 mines. No monsters or traps, this is to warm up. The layout of the mines will be maze-like - this means the players are able to reach every safe tile with basic movement abilities.
- Winning condition is to explore all safe tiles. Flags exploding in this training map will not be lost.
- The size of the Active Player List and the Waiting List will depend on the amount of applicants.
