December 31, 2024 - That Is So Cool!
Well, just when I thought we wouldn't get any updates in December...

Not much happening, though.

Floating in a nondescript gradient. Wonder if we can look forward in 2025 to blog posts containing desperate life-or-death pleas for fans to subscribe to her new only fans.

Likely. I think GoFund Me will still dominate that spot though.
Regarding the page:
Talking heads, floating in a grey blue void. Looots of text. Mainly things we know. We're thrown a bone about a possibility of Klick being resurrected. But xe died 12 years ago. Does anyone still care? Does this really do anything but lessen the chock of Klick's death?
Remember Klick? An expressive ball of mute emotion in a visual medium? I miss that idea. That constraint.
Well, that brief interaction between characters usually not given much space is cut short by MinMax being loud and in the way. Again. Can't have anything not centered around MinMax, even if nothing is going on.
Only ACTION happening (eye being poked) is shoved down to the corner of the page and not even centered in it's own panel.
Characters are shown next to one another, and MinMax is trying some vertical posing? Is this something to praise in a professional comic?
I... Don't love this.

Holy cow, what a clunker.
This looks like someone needed to make a comic out of Goblins character stickers. Everybody is mugging and posing with no particular relationship to each other. Everyone is looking very ugly. Forgath looks like a pile of crap.
Really baffling lack of momentum to this scene. Wasn’t Minmax a god a few minutes ago? Wasn’t he reunited with Forgath moments ago? I understand ‘Minmax is a dumb goof, he can’t be expected to take stuff seriously!’ ok, then perhaps a different protagonist would carry the story more effectively. Having one guy stand around screaming how he doesn’t understand or care what’s going on is a challenge for the audience and there’s nothing going on here to salvage my investment.
Also, I fucking hate every time the DM comes up like this. How can any narrative tension or stakes exist when they talk about rolling up characters with a guy they know. I understand it’s been part of the comic since the beginning! I even like it when Forgath talks about Herbert as his deity, that’s fun. But in moments like this it REALLY takes me out of it.

Page equivalent of a nothingburger. I actually feel like festive content would have been more joy to see (more than zero). One page out of canon for the characters to celebrate christmas/new year. We have had filler pages before.
Has minimax having wrists thicker than his neck always been a thing? That's not how human proportions work.

MinMax changed design significantly around where they fought the demon copies of themselves from another room. In recent pages he has gotten chubbier, with less sharp and high cheekbones.
His wrists has changed in the same way.
This dungeon is making him chunky.
The one with the REAL wrist to neck ratio on this page is Kin though...

31 Dec 2024 - I broke your Human
Well, when did Forgath get infected?
I wonder why that is important...
And how did he get the knowledge this is important to being resurrected...?
That' the infodump here, the rest are just amusing jokes.

Re: 31 Dec 2024 - I broke your Human
A wasp husk themed klick was evil. Then Idle blew herself up, ran into a sudden heap of earth with tunnels in it, got stabbed through her thigh and then Forgath charged in and was scratched up. Then he was infected.

Would you look at that? I remembered wrong! She was stabbed in the liver, and not the thigh. I must have mixed it up with Saves a Fox in the falling hut.

Did she give any reasons anywhere for changing software? Like is it faster? Or cheaper?

Re: December 31, 2024 - That Is So Cool!
She did report some computer troubles. Photoshop is pretty notorious for being hard to handle in some ways (I believe it comes loaded with so many features [to inflate the price] which are not optional) which leads a lot of artists to other, easier programs which specialize in whatever they do, for more streamlined use and less computer load. Just speculating that the computer issues are related; I think a lot of artists try to get off Photoshop for a few reasons, and Photoshop tries to make that hard to do.

Re: December 31, 2024 - That Is So Cool!
Photoshop is bloated.
And expensive, if you don't need some 80% of the functions.
Otherwise there simpyl are cheaper programs around.
Granted, they have less functions, but if you don't need the functions....

I don't know. I'm only paying $10/month for Photoshop, which is WAY Cheaper than it used to be when you bought it outright. I paid $600 for PSCS4, and it was obsolete within two years, IIRC. But it probably costs more than that in Canada. They do try their best to get all your money at Adobe.

Re: December 31, 2024 - That Is So Cool!
For professional uses 10 CurrencyUnits per month sounds rather cheap.
But for me as a private person it would be "bye-bye" already...
(I HATE monthly payments - difficult to stop all of it when the money gets tighter - I prefer one-time payments)
CSP is available as a one-time-payment of 54 USD (or 237USD for the EX version).... (the 4.0 PRO version planned publishment for March '25) (reduced prices for owners of previous versions) - includes an update pass for the upcoming year, but updates for all 4.0.xyz versions will also be included).
Or the "update pass" (most recent version for one year) for 10,50€/year for the PRO version (28€ / year (EX version))- due to me being in EURoland, Paypal shows me the EURoprice, not the USD price)
I simply don't know how old Elli's version of PhotoShop was...
Together with replacing the old PC the pricing differences sounds like a good thing to invest time in.
The new PhotoShop version might also need some time to get used to.

I wouldn't go as far as some others in criticising the page, but I certainly don't love the comic, or the artist, like I used to.
