((@Spider, I missed Kroshav finding Charlie! Sorry about that. Charlie would have come back along with Cary's horse once they got the all clear from Ealu and Kroshav would have had, at a minimum, half an hour to take care of him. The sword conversation would have happened after that and then Joe would have needed to mess around for another ten minutes to cast identify. Where would that put Kroshav in relation to the burn pile?

@NSF, did Jaq want to be at the east, west or north tree line? People (the unnamed NPCs) are more clustered at the east tree line and your team is closer to the north.))

He'd be keeping watch and just hanging out in whatever area gives him sight of woods and roadway and has him clustered around less people in general. So I'm guessing west.

As Ruby touches the bit of metal on the ground Lurn sees Joe pause for a heartbeat then look around until she spots Lurn. She gives Lurn a wide smile that looks like grimace while raising her hands, palms up, to waist height and saying something quietly. Her hands drop and she blinks and the smile disappears as she wobbles unsteadily on her feet. The entire process only takes a handful of seconds.

Before Joe can say anything three creatures made of darkness with tattered wings, horns and an upper body seem to appear out of nothing into the space around her. They seem just as surprised as Joe by their sudden arrival and all three stop to survey the scene around them.

((Roll initiative please! Everyone but Jaq (and Jolly and Celus) probably noticed three winged demonic clouds of darkness appearing around Joe.

Also Joe knows that the piece of metal is a mirror of communication attuned to the Abyss.

This initiative roll is ridiculous, considering Lurn was meant to be on guard to separate Ruby from the metal at first sign of problems.

Despite whatever just happened to her, Joe is alert and ready to react to the new threat. This time it looks to be three shadows with horns and claws.

Lurn is still very focused on Ruby, who is scratching himself with his owl leg.

Joe misty steps towards Kroshav and eldrich blasts one of the shadows. She then moves closer to Kroshav.

[1d20+6] = 17+6 = 23[1d10] = 5[1d20+6] = 14+6 = 20[1d10] = 10

Joe disappears and the turns and blasts one of the shadow creatures before keeping on running until she is beside Kroshav.

The two of the three creatures, including the one that was blasted, turn and rush Lurn. The firbolg looks up at Joe's yell and sees both of them coming and blocks them with his shield and a smooth dodge.
Celus runs around the tent at Joe's yell and stops at the edge of the tent and ask,

"Again? More shadow things? Lurn? More?"

He moves up to support the firbolg but can't attack.

Indra moves around the other side of the tent and unlike her cousin manages to engage one of creatures but it twists in a way things with bones can't causing Indra to miss it.
The third creature leaps into the air and flaps into the darkness out of the light of the fire.

Cary realizing that she really has two good choices here, takes the third less good choice...

She fires her two bolts of agonizing blast,

one at the currently wounded opponent,
Agonzing Blast: 1D20+7 = [15]+7 = 22
1D10+5 = [10]+5 = 15

and again if that opponent is still standing, or the other target if need be...
Agonzing Blast: 1D20+7 = [17]+7 = 24
1D10+5 = [6]+5 = 11


Before she moves next to the fire to at least give her some flank protection against the flying creature...

The creature writhes as the blasts it and its neck twists all the way around as it focuses in on Cary. It is definitely looking less...there?

Jaq sees the shadow creatures move to attack Lurn and fires on the one he can see without obstruction (#2). His shot goes wide and then he does an incredibly bad job at hiding.
((I rolled utter crap for you NSF, wow.))

Jolly runs around the tents to stand beside Celus, unable to attack this turn and he gives Lurn a shake of his head, indicating he doesn't believe the claim that Lurn isn't responsible.

Dama moves to get a clear shot at number #2 and fires. The arrow hits, slows and then just drops to the ground. It did something, but not much.

Lurn stands and casts Spirit Guardians, naming all of our allies as exceptions. ((Half movement speed for enemies, on their turn start, wisdom save. 3d8 radiant damage on fail, half on success.))

Lurn straightens and lifts his shield in the face of his attackers while whispering a prayer to his god. A glowing light begins behind him and grows into a swirling, glowing form of a beautiful and ethereal creature of light with wings. The guardian only shows more clearly how truly profane these shadow creatures are in comparison.

((Go ahead and roll the damage for me Lurn, they (1 and 2) will almost certainly be starting their turns within range of the guardian))

Joe casts dragonbreath on Ruby (acid). She’ll have Ruby fly above the creatures (10-15’ above) to breathe on as many as possible without getting Lurn (edit: allies)

Joe will then cast another eldrich blast at the most damaged creature.

Eldrich blast 1d20+6 = [13] = 19 1d10 = [4] = 4 1d20+6 = [16] = 22 1d10 = [7] = 7

Dragon breath, dex save of dc 13 for half
3d6 = [6, 3, 2] = 11

Kroshav, seeing that they are a bit further away, swings aboard Ealu and urges her into a charge, as he swing Sword down on the shadowy creatures.

Sword: 1D20+8 = [9]+8 = 17
1D8+7 = [7]+7 = 14 slashing

Sword: 1D20+8 = [3]+8 = 11
1D8+7 = [5]+7 = 12 slashing
