Re: The Sundered Way
"Preacher, you get into the weirdest adventures... but glad you're back."
Renny leads you to a patch of sand and jams his finger in the ground a bunch of times. "Hurr, hurm."
He grabs some rocks and drops them in the holes and covers them over. "Hurr. HUUURURURRURRURR!"
He stands up throwing his arms over his head and spins around chaotically. "Hurm." He points along the shore of the lake, leading you shortly to a massively gnarled tree, its branches heavy with odd fruit. They are pear shaped, but each is about bite sized. "Hurr?"
Griff looks at Zokk inquisitively, but the words don't seem to elicit any more response than if he was speaking nonsense.

"I think I get it. You didn't eat them, you planted them? Or, did you plant some, and eat some? And this tree, and a bunch of the other things that happened, are because you planted them here? I see..." Ulmwin nods, considering.
"I guess that means this fruit might be magic! Though whether it's harmful or not, is hard to say... Did you eat any of them Renny?"

He hurrs and slaps the ground.
He shakes his head at eating fruit, but rubs his tummy and looks at you hopefully. "Hurm?"

Re: The Sundered Way
"Not just yet Renny - We should make sure it's safe first. But you can try some if it is." he conceded, perhaps a bit foolishly. He's going to investigate the fruits from a distance, maybe try plucking one, but not eating any yet. He'll see if he can figure out anything just from examination... And also looks around for any animals or other critters nearby.

They look ripe, but don't line up with the description of any fruits he's heard of before. It seems likely that they are magical or at least magically formed, for a tree to have gone to fruit so soon...

I'm assuming Ulmwin sees no animals in this verdant oasis, then.
Ulmwin frowns for a moment, and then asks Renny to just give him a couple moments - As he begins casting detect magic as a ritual. That should help reveal any potential lingering magic... Perhaps.

((Nothing too noticeable, with a 5.))
Lots of conjuration and transmutation magic trace around you, particularly on the tree. As you look, the fruits seem to pulse... ones that seem mundane suddenly glows with magic, then fade as others glow. It's a rather disorienting flashing effect.

Ulmwin thinks things over for a moment, before collecting a couple more fruits. And hands over a couple to Renny to carry, too.
"There, carry these ok? No eating them, yet. We'd want Coljin close." he let's know. He could have Renny eat one and be ready to heal him, of course... But in case these were somehow poisonous, a better equipped healer would be for the best.

Randy decides to do a little independent investigating since it looks like the danger has passed for now. He starts by examining the ground, looking to see what tracks are present.
survival: 1D20+5 = [1]+5 = 6
Looking at the ground, newly covered with a layer of deceased sand golem, Randy quickly concludes that he's not going to find anything significant HERE. He shakes his head and moves towards the water's edge to try again.

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal has a mostly pleasant catch up with his former employer and coworkers.
"What was that about your clan failing?", Tren asks, worriedly.
"Hurm." Renny remarks decidedly, helping Ulmwin collect fruit. ((How many are you planning on taking? There were dozens to start.))
Randy doesn't see any animals or signs of animals beyond what one would perhaps expect to see in a desert morning. Whatever brought the water and vegetation to the desert doesn't seem to have brought any animals with them.

"Aye honestly have no idea. The voice said something about keeping a secret and then that meh clan had failed. Sounded like something from a long time ago but they didn't know the secret or how we'd failed."
When they get inside he asks Szartha,
"Oh, can ye identify items? Grabbed some during the retrieval. Speaking of which, where's Kreldoran?"

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that, but at least it wasn't something that happened recently?", she says, trying to console you.
"Sure, I can take a look. I think he was pacing the outside of the tower, trying to get a look at the damage that sand thing did."

(How big are they? I'm guessing Ulmwin can carry at least three in his hands without any issues, so with Renny taking four... Maybe seven to start with? That's a decent sample size to share if it seems harmless enough. )

"Aye appreciate it Tren, thank ye. No much aye can do to change the past but something is happening with them now. Maybe the two things are related or aye'm just putting some slate and granite together without cause."
Dornikal pulls out the box with the orb to show Szartha,
"Thing we was after is in this. Got a girl killed."
He puts it back before passing the rest of the items to Szartha.
"When ye got time."

Szartha (and any others that join him that can cast identify) take the time to go through the haul of 7 items that Dornikal and Randy were able to snag from Pembleton's vault.
A fairly plain band of platinum, set with small blue gems.
An iron rod capped by fists on both ends. There is a small button next to one of the fists.
A small silk bag containing a handful of hard, dark beads.
A necklace adorned with an arm gripping a heart carved from a ruby.
A green and brown hooded cloak, worked with leaf and vine patterns.
A small wooden box containing a partial deck of cards. The cards contain well rendered depictions of various creatures.
A small statue of a fly, done in some sort of dark stone.

He looks to Szartha,
"Should we bring something? Like a plant or... Maybe a shovel? They like shovels, right?"
((How much time is left before dinner? If there is enough Dornikal would like to work a gem if he can. Give him time to commune with his god.))

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy makes his way to the oasis edge and tries again. First he looks around to see what he can.
perception: 1D20+3 = [4]+3 = 7
Then he tries again for tracks.
_: 1D20+5 = [6]+5 = 11
He's still feeling a bit disoriented from his "trip" by transport spell.
