Hmm, would Vatro know how to create gunpowder from his alchemy proficiency?

Gimme a straight INT check.

You've never done it yourself, but you're vaguely familiar with the process. Having an example on hand would help if you wanted to give it a try. You'd also need to source the ingredients somehow: sulphur, saltpeter, and (high-quality) charcoal.

Looks like we need a LOT more!! Or maybe less... Hmm...

1d20 = [1] = 1

((I rolled pretty well to recognise it earlier, but I guess he's never seen it used))

Does Darkvision help against the magic darkness?

Nope. It just looks like a fuzzy black wall to both of you. But the doors seemed to swing in without issue.

I don't suppose Kytiel has the Devil's Sight invocation, by chance? :shifty:

I get what you're trying to do Vader, but you can't really upcast a cantrip like that unfortunately.

Improved Pact Weapon, Mask of Many Faces, and Thirsting Blade, unfortunately.

Is Veska checking out the doorway you came through, or the tunnel leading deeper?

Is Veska's Natural Explorer still valid here btw? Her Passive Perception should be 16 if it is, in case that's enough to beat the water thing's stealth.

Yeah, but it rolled a 14+2

EDIT: And I checked, but Active skills beat Passive skills in a draw like that. So bad luck there.

I have to wonder how much the Water Elemental was able to heal between us fighting it at the entrance and now (assuming this is the same one).

It definitely had enough time for a Short Rest, but not a Long Rest, which I think means it could use its 12d10 hit dice to recover (+4 for each, because Con modifier)? I think that's how it works for monsters.

Yup, pretty much. That was part of the consequences I mentioned for you guys taking forever with the WIS save effect in the fog. The Water Elemental had plenty of time to get a Short Rest in.

Also, while Hunter's Mark would've faded, technically Hex is still active on it. Since Kytiel cast it with an 8 hour duration and didn't drop concentration yet.

Spider, you can do something else with your bonus action if you want. Hex was still up from previously.

Don't think I have anything to bonus action. Huzzah on the hex though... do you know what ability I'd picked then?

I don't think you mentioned it last time? You can just decide now if you want, I don't mind.

STR then, in hopes it helps with Veska getting grabbed.
