Randy, seeing that he's unlikely to catch his guy without a long chase and unwilling to become separated from the others, pulls up and stops. He shakes his head in disgust, spits on the ground, and heads back to the others. He'll recover his weapons and investigate the fallen enemies remains.

Randy gives up the chase, as the little guy is easily outpacing him already, returning to where the mound of robes, breeches and chipped scimitar mark where one of his companions fell. Prodding it with his toe, there IS something in the mound of clothes, that feels flesh-like... at least in that it is denser than just a pile of clothes would be. Nudging the robes back, he reveals the body of a small canine.

The injuries roughly map to what the human who was wearing those clothes took (I think it was bleeding from the ears via the bard), but otherwise seems to be a dead jackal wearing a dead man's clothes.

Zephyr comes awake with a start and finds szartha standing over her and then the stinging cheek hits her. She puts two and two together relatively quickly, and reassures szartha as she stands up. "you did what you needed to, it's fine." As she stands up she sees that the enemy is fleeing. Unwilling to let them get away so easily she fires a fire bolt at them as they run. (The ones to the west, whichever one she could hit the easiest)
