Druid group

The druid group steel themselves as best they can and continue onwards into the forest, heading further west. The surroundings are monotonous. The forest looks exactly the same as it did when you first left the pool and you have almost no sense that you're making progress, except that the sun continues to drag across the sky. The animal sounds continue to grate on your straining nerves, and the air feels hot, humid and close. A sudden <crack> behind you makes you jump, but of course, there's nothing there.

((I'll take another survival roll from the pathfinders))

------------------------------------

Merric smiles up at the guard post, but doesn't see anything.

A voice shouts out in barked common:
"Who? Speak!"

Korrik catches a glimpse of movement from behind a gap in the barricade.

((If you'd like to take your held attack, you can go ahead and roll))

They've not drawn blood, I'll let Merric speak, keep attack held until talks break down and I have a shot.

I don't know how that happened >.> I blame my phone.

Syli Survival (+3 w/ Advantage): 21

((I'll be damned. Advantage actually paid off that time and turned a 13 into a 21))

Varsk keep following, spending most of his attention on watching the surroundings, sorta well.

Something is out there.. : 1D20+4 = [8]+4 = 12

Merric will point to himself and then do an I see you motion. He'll continue to try pinpoint where the shooter is and if he finally get his eyes on him, he'll talk to him telepathically.

"Merric! You will understand me better if I see you. I can help you with the false god who is trying to control the swamp!"

Merric perception: 1D20+1 = [19]+1 = 20

Kal will work with the group. Return fire when he has a decent shot. I'm not sure what the plan is. Is there a way he can see to get up to the tower? Or a climbable tree that would get him a better line of sight?

((For sure, but it depends how much you don't want to be seen. You know Merric is being watched at the moment, so moving away without being seen is going to require a tricky stealth roll at disadvantage. Either option would be equally feasible though.))

Kal will duck away and climb the far side of a nearby tree. (He'll be spotted leaving with stealth 8, but hopefully the tree trunk is wide enough to provide cover.)

At least he shouldn't have any trouble getting up the tree...

I'll take a persuasion check from Merric please.

As Kal moves to take cover behind a tree, there is an angry, barked shout from above:

"Grargh! What numbers have you?"

The lizardfolk seems completely taken aback by the strange voice in his head, but replies:

"All come out. Speak what you know."

I wait, if it fires on the others, it's getting an arrow back.

I'm muddled and confused. Sorry. Kal would prefer diplomacy, but this guy already shot at us and we haven't gotten anywhere talking to the others. Does anyone believe there's any chance we can talk our way out of this instead of stepping out of cover to be shot?

I guess Kal can climb the tree, and then step out from a higher vantage point.

((So Merric's secretly speaking; Kal's been seen (but about to climb a tree and the lizardfolk is demanding everyone show themselves, but so far hasn't hit anyone)).

"We are enough to cause trouble, especially since your friend took off, but they will follow your lead so no need to worry if we talk nicely. We fought with your kin before but their skin seemed corrupted and we've found corrupted blood as well. It is worrying that so many have been swayed by a false god and a false promise of power. Most clan does not follow the false god right?"

You hear a growl from upstairs and the sound of spitting.

"Too many follow. Too many forget. What do you know of this?!"
