Goblins Minesweepers - Hexing Swamps (Turn 21 - Finished)

Post by LooksAndSmiles » Fri Apr 12, 2013 1:48 pm

Welcome the new round of the minesweeping madness!

You can check the previous round here.
If you wish, you can glance at the rules, shop, and any other information here.

Hexing Swamps

After a brief discussion our brave goblins decided they visit the marshlands for new adventures. It is told to be a difficult place, but surely the rewards must be also great. Well, it's not that anyone told them anything about rewards. Or returned alive from there, for that matter...

MAP RULES:
- 150 hexagonal tiles - 45 mines underneath, labyrinth style (non-mine tiles reachable from anywhere).
- Traps and monsters included.
- Reed and dead tree are map "items".

Special map rule:
- If you step on an already explored tile, you sink a little deeper into the swamp. Stages: knee deep, thigh deep, waist deep. At this point you are rendered inmovable, cannot circle out and keep sinking in: chest deep, neck deep, and dead. Once rendered inmovable you can ask a player on an adjacent tile to pull you out to another adjacent tile to both of you. The depth counter will reset.

Goska will spawn, equipping both her tokens, and using her token that looks like it might be a Detect token to try to tell if G1 is safe and spawn there if it is and in G2 if it isn't.

If she cannot have both coins equipped, she decides not to equip the jump token at this moment.

Spawn on N2 with the Rescue token.
Mostly offline/inactive due to chronic health issues. PM me if you really need attention.

@ Dusk9, Bada Boom can't spawn yet, he's on the waiting list. ;)

Stumbles, who bought a pair of boots (4c), a bundle of 3 basic flags (3c) and a frying pan (3c), leaving him with 6c, will spawn on O6 with his boots and his frying pan equipped, please.

I think I know the purpose of reed. It supposed to obscure the number on that tile.

And so it begins...

Turn 1>>Next turn

Finds Mines equips her tokens and spawns on E7, on the top of the dead log. Nothing peculiar happens, and it seems like she won't be able to get to the tile lying underneath without removing the log first from the way.
Tries-and-Dies spawns on i3, getting a "3". +1XP
Step-and-Boom (yellow) spawns on A4, which is a "1". Unfortunately, there is also a swamp spider there which bites him and then hides in the reed on B3. Step-and-Boom loses no health but is now poisoned. +1XP
White Metal (white) spawns on K9, and he finds a "1" below the reed. He also finds a grey skill token, with a fist and a +1 on it! +1XP
Spawns on Mines lands on M9, finding a "2". +1XP
Goska Bluey equips both her tokens, and uses "Visions" to see what is on G1. It reveals a "1", so Goska spawns on it. +1XP
Flags Mines chooses N2 to spawn, and he feels like flying already! No wait, it was just the mine...
Dies-to-a-Mine spawns on A5, and dies to a mine! The GM headdesks for lacking narrating creativity.
Stumbles around spawns on O6 with his frying pan and boots. He finds a "1". +1XP
No-Legs spawns on L3, uncovering a "2". DING!
See Four produces a bombastic start on C4! His frying plan flies away in the explosion and lands gently on F5.

MAP:
Image

No-Legs sees a green token of a leg over a curvy arrow, a red token with preventing an item to drop, a golden token with a figure over a grave and a blue token with an exclamation mark over a mine. She may keep two, but only equip one of them at the moment.

Achievements
Finds Mines: "What That Do?", for interacting with a map item.

Skill Information Unlocked!
Visions (Seer): The player is able to reveal any undiscovered tile of the playfield and gains an XP. The token goes inactive and can be used again in 25 turns.

Unfortunately I didn't have the time to update the inventory / character sheets yet, but consider every item assigned, XP gained, etc...

EDIT: Corrected the spelunky skill token to fit the description.

Stumbles moves to N5 (left-up) into the reeds. If anything hostile is there, he whacks it with his trusty frying pan.

That green token looks more like a leg with speed marks (e.g. a run token) than a leg over a curved line (probably a jump token?), btw.

That's what I thought. And I don't even see any curved lines. If it's indeed a jump token, up arrow will be more visible.

It is because I have bad eyes and forgot to zoom in, I copied there the wrong token :P

Sorry :D

I will correct it once I get home.
