It's an inside joke, as with many signatures that you will find here.

Never was.
There's a link behind it, linking to a post which ends with Thunt "banning" a few of the regulars. .. And he included me. :)

Edit: should've checked whether there was a new page.
Thanks for answering, Badge.

Hrrm. I'm not sure where to post this kind of question, and this seems like the closest place without actually creating a new post (which I'm a bit tentative to do). Just direct me somewhere else if I'm wrong, please!

Right, so, pretty much everyone has a Goblin-style name under their username, and mine appears to be Remains Silent. That kinda seems like something that would get applied to many newcomers, (or maybe to someone who doesn't reply to notifications, but I'm not sure how to get notifications on this forum, I just try and check in to see) so I'm not sure if it was automated or personalized, but it kinda fits as my alternate name, if I can't do BookWyrm, is SilenceBroken.

Aanyway, I'd just like a bit more information on it, I rather like it I'm just not sure what to think.

Thats a fair question...

The title is based on your post count...
with few exceptions, some people has done special thing here on the forum, and has earned them self a special title... such as Krulle above your post... he has Tran-scripted goblins for years... and as such has gained that title...

the three first titles are:

Member of the Newcomer Adventuring Party
Remains Silent
Mumbles Incoherently

more and more comes with time... you can see some under the members part of the forum :)

Oh cool! That's much more simple than I thought it was going to be. And right, those big titles make sense for Discussions and Transcriptions and things. Pretty awesome :) Thanks!

Some of us worked at a petting zoo for deranged animals to earn their titles. :P

God, I hope petting wasn't involved...

You know, I rather was wondering about that title. Is there a longer story behind it, then?

I've been told I laugh like a hyena often, so I like the title even more :P

Well, now you're just mumbling incoherently.

Long story short:
The title behind Saves-a-Hyena is our forum resident Hyena had some severe issues, including losing his roof. Badge jumped in his car, drove all the way (to NYC if I remember correctly), grabbed Hyena, pulled that struggling pack of sinews into his car, grabbed most of his stuff into the remaining parts of the car, drove somewhere safe in the middle west (all the while avoiding to be bitten), where Hyenas are more free to roam, and found a bed and cheap rental place for him there, and is still keeping up and helping the Hyena with all the real life stuff a Hyena has difficulties to do.
Like getting the legal papers done.
Getting social aid.
...

He is a good Christian, and very helpful, and he may have worked hardest of us all to have earned his custom-title. I cannot praise him enough for what good he did.
And he did more than just sit down and type a few helpful words. He went all the way in the physical life to help.
(Hyena is one of our forum members, pretty active in the games section)

Hi everybody, I'm relatively new to goblins. Found the comic a couple pages before the flea demon showed up.

I'll second Wolfie's motion. Welcome all! Like Krulle says, feel free to wander around. Some of us hang out in certain sections more than others, and occasionally migrate around. Pretty much everyone's approachable so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. If it's a sensitive subject, we'll try to steer you to the appropriate forum. :)

Yes, a couple times. I have many, many theories and such driving me crazy.

It's not a long drive.

Then go over to the discussion part, we have some theory threads there, please feel free to share your theories.
We LOVE discussing theories, and debunking newcomers when they have a theory we already dismissed.
But without trying and reading yours, we'll never know if we missed an angle.

Greetings, all. I confess, I'm not used to "newcomer's threads" in fora I frequent; I usually just find a topic on which I wanted to comment and start chatting. Perhaps that's my NE alignment showing.

Welcome!

You are free to do so, but we have some lurkers who wish to get their post count up to three, so that some locked forum parts open up. Newcomers, Nickname are two obvious threads to do so....

I usually do not "first post" in newcomer threads either. But I get to read many new faces here, and that's fun too.

Huh? Krulle are you trying to recruit people again?

Didn't Wolfie have words with you about you and your deviant 'gamers' wandering outside of you allowed areas?

I am going to have to report that your doing an excellent job....

Ugh. Dang. I was hoping for a dismissal....

And no, my bad memory will require Wolfie to have words with me again.
I'll go and cook some tea.
Anyone else wants a cup?

(Earl Grey I'll make. But in virtually no extra time I can make a can of Green Kobayashi tea too.)
