Is it possible that it's an entirely made-up word that she invented as a substitute for swearing?

No I recall the word as something that made me think "Wow, I've never heard anyone use that in everyday conversation, thats really unusual!" But it was a word I had heard before.

Dammit, this is really frustrating me. I keep bugging her and she has no recollection of the word, or any antiquated words she uses in her everyday conversation. But I've heard her say it twice!!

Some words from back in the day:

Forsooth; Shindig; claptrap (Not the borderlands robot character.)
Forwith; Bethink; Fain.
