"It seems to be retreating. We know where to find it if we want to take another whack at it. For now, I suggest we go home." If no one objects, Gabe will head back towards the workshop.

August sighs.

"Well, that was a disaster."

He will wait to see what Sam does next.

Sam follows his good buddy Enoch.. At very least to keep him out if harms way. If they make it their without getting into a fight, Sam will explain that the thing ran off... And he will continue on to the room that started everything... Intent on disassembling that desk.

"Good to know, thank you Samuel."

While he is out htis way, Enoch figures he will check on the net and the bat's crevice, to see if there was any more sign of the bat.

Sam follows the clank up the hallway, as it turns left, and as it barrels past Enoch...

Enoch had just reached the net when the clank comes charging down the hallway towards... and past him, entering a recessed doorway that shifts as the stone moves back into place, leaving it looking much like the rest of the hallway.

Sam then informs Enoch that it ran away... good to know, good to know.

Sam returns to the storeroom, heading for the desk on the far end.

Enoch pokes his head into the crevice, seeing no immediate signs of the bat.

We are out of combat, Sam and Enoch at least are still on explore mode, but for anyone headed back to the workshop, I'll have to look up what you were in the middle of, but I'll get an progress update in for you once I know who's doing what.

Sam notes the location in which the clank disappeared, intent on looking into it later, but hoping not to forget the location. Once he enters the storeroom doorway, he tries to think about the moments leading up to the clank attack. He remembered that just as August had tried to move a barrel from the shelf, the table had shot darts at them. With this in mind, Sam thinks that perhaps the stock in this room is somehow tied to those labels and that desk.

Putting these thoughts behind him, he heads over to the desk and begins to investigate it very carefully. He pulls out the various tools from his belt, eager to get at the inner workings of the device. But before touching it, he cautiously looks all over the desk, hoping to find any hidden trigger that could alarm the clank should he begin to tinker with the desk.

Sam inspects the "desk", seeing nothing that he can tell would trigger the clank to attack, but notices the warning plaques on the desk and the shelves. He does recall that the clank only emerged from its lair and attacked them after the "desk" opened up and tagged them with darts, and seemed much more focused on the darts than on either him or August alone. There is a third dart on the floor that bounced of Charlie...

Sam walks over and carefully picks up the dart on the floor with a pair of tweezers (or similar device) and then places said dart on the table. He looks around, perhaps instructions had been left somewhere explaining how the room was meant to be operated so as not to get attacked. Sam looks around the room, remembering that there was a placard that explained something about inventory control. Once he finds it, he'll read it several times until the words get stuck in his mind, before continuing.

August, with Charlie in tow, heads down the hallway, where he sees Sam poking around in the storeroom.

Sam inspects the items on the shelves, and notices that each has a placard that reads [REMINDER: Insert inventory strip before removing!]. He also recalls seeing some sort of placard and slot on top of the desk that seemed utterly unimportant before, so neither he or August bothered to dust it off and read it. (Unless you did, and I forgot...)

Enoch inspects the set-up with the net to see if he can improve on anything.

Ah-ha, Sam thinks to himself as he faintly remembers things. He hurries over to the desk and wipes the dust away from the placard and then reads it.

Enoch deduces that the first thing to improve the net would be to install it... he seems to remember Hiero making some sort of wall anchor that Gabe was going to drill holes for so they could pound rods into the edges of the net and secure it against the wall.

Sam wipes the dust from the desk.

[ALL INVENTORY CARDS MUST BE INSERTED BELOW PRIOR TO REMOVAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN ANTI-THEFT COUNTERMEASURES.]

Confused about what the placard is referring to, Sam walks over and takes the inventory card from one of the casks filled with rotten food and then inserts it into the slot below the placard and waits to see what happens.

As Sam inserts the inventory strip, the desk *dings*, and he hears the voice speak into the room. "INVENTORY STRIP CONFIRMED. ACCESS TO ITEM GR4-496 CONFIRMED. PROCEED WITH INVENTORY REMOVAL."

Sam claps his hands excitedly "oh oh...Oh BOY!" He looks over to see August, the one who had caused all the problems with the centipede clank. "Did you see that, it would appear that's how you remove items from the inventory here...hah..you sure dropped the ball my friend." Sam moves over to the item strip that he had removed, and shifts the box slightly off the shelf, whilst remaining behind the crate in case something horrible happens.

Sam manages to slide the crate out onto the floor. Nothing else happens.

Sam throws up his hands "Huzzah" he cries and dances a small jig, in a circle, all by himself. Sam then takes stock of the entire storeroom intent on perhaps returning a prize to the others. Without getting attacked this time.
