Laughs accepts Naps offer of a drink, and buys a round for the two of them after they finish the first. :cheer:

"Drinks for everyone! Here's to another successful year with absolutely no deaths, maimings or world-ending catastrophes!"

Somewhere far away, lightning flashes and an ominous rumble of thunder temporarily drowns out the conversation.

A mournful breeze stirs through the trees that makes the goblins in the GAL pause what they are doing. One of their number has fallen...

Is it bad that I think that's a correction?

At least you don't have the humiliation of being the first to die.

So a new goblin walks into the bar:
Name: VengefulOne
Gender: Male
color: 400000
Backstory: VengefulOne never understood his name. He was always a nice guy, friendly with everyone, even a pacifist. His name just didn't make sense. Then one day he received word that his twin brother RighteousOne had fallen in combat. Suddenly, he was filled with a deep rage. He just wanted lash out at everything. He now understands his purpose in life and he intends to fulfill it...

Laughs will proceed to make introductions of the rest ouch the goblins, fill the newcomer in on the goal of the GAL and generally being him up to speed, all through fits of laughter.

"VengefulOne," he'll state as he pushes past Laughs on the way to the bar. "I'll buy a drink to honor my fallen brother, RighteousOne" VengefulOne says, rage clearly dripping from every word. He'll take whatever drink the bartender offers and raise it high "To my brother!" He'll drain the drink and then in a rather cold voice state, "I need a weapon," and head out to the vendor to buy a throwing axe.

ooc: Man that seems cold but that's how the inspiration struck me. Tempted not to buy the beer so I can afford a sword but the beer is too in-character not to do.

Not one to be deterred, Laughs follows Venge to the bar. "Hey Robert, put that one on my *teee* tab. Sorry for your *hehehe* loss. You know, Right helped me get *teehe* revenge on an evil wizard for my *hahee* ear." Laughs indicates his wooden ear.

"We got him back in the end! *HAHAHAHAHAheeeee*", Laughs pulls out his ear necklace to display his trophy.

Turning solemn for a moment, "Anything I can help you with, let me know. *tehe*"

At mention of his brother's deeds, VengefulOne acknowledges laughs with a slight nod but nothing more. Considering the pure rage that he can be felt emanating, that's probably high praise.
"Anything I can help you with, let me know. *tehe*"
"Vengeance"

ooc: Thanks for the beer, that means I can now spend the entirety of my vast starting fortune on a shortsword rather than a throwing axe. Yay, I feel so rich.

Tells watches as the new goblin and Laught walk out.

p.s Also I never did get the information on what the mask I got for the combination does.
Haven't played this signature game in a long while but I'll try it out again.

Help these poor little guys hatch.

I think Pat's out of town at the moment, but when he returns, I thionk there was the possibility of taking a trip to the fountain to drink of its mudhoney and gain some powers? I'd be interested, if he's up for running a mini mini quest and we have enough people. It'd give Venge something to do.

I was actually thinking of suggesting the same thing when RighteousOne got back from the latest quest. But now he's dead so it would have to be venge and I'm not sure he's up for it as a starting character. Maybe if he had some loaned/donated gear but otherwise I think he'd likely end up needing to run for his life. But I won't be playing him as a coward so he'd stay and get killed. And I really don't want to be the one to log two deaths before anyone else gets one.... GMs hurry up and kill someone else so I'm not alone in the death department.

Although speaking of equipment, I remember somewhere that things left in storage were saved when you die. So maybe RighteousOne's flaming trident is up for grabs. I vaguely recall something about auctioning but I'm a little too lazy to look it up right now. So what's going on with that TL?

Yup - anything your character was carrying is lost, but whatever you put into storage is transferred to your next character. I think it's only fair that it stays with the player.

If a player leaves the game completely then their stuff can go up for auction or something to the rest of the GAL, but we'll cross that bridge when it happens.

Yeah, Right had a little storage unit that Venge had now inherited. What items has you put in storage?

Just the trident. Everything else I had taken with me or went into the creation of the battle standard. Despite all the powerful stuff I had that's what I'm gonna miss the most. (and normally I'm completely function over form, but it was just that cool)

In that case venge will not buy the shortsword and instead just inherit the trident.

Although it's extinguished by water, so having a backup might be good, rather than ending up with a handful of wet ashes...

Decent point but after my last death I'm not intending to go anywhere near water any time soon. Debating picking up a couple throwing axes though for some range or healing potions for some sustainability...

Actually do we inherit money too? I figure no but its worth asking.

I hadn't intended for gold to be transferred, but I'd be happy to put it to a general vote.

When Leaves is back you're welcome to use the Beserker Axe. It doesn't suit my character, but the rage might suit Vengeful One.
