okay.. a little extra to the players.
HERE is the full character sheets for each player as a Word Doc. it also contains the Simple version that I'll be using at each update.
In the first update in-game There are images of the character sheets. those sheets will only update when a permanent change is made, such as a lost weapon, new found item or XP is gained.. such things...

Hmm.. wonder if my players read this thread? :P

Any ways..
About adjusting the game.. depending on how long it will take to get through this dungeon, I hope to NOT adjust the game before the test is over.
That said.. If it seems to unbalanced, I'll adjust it by placing extra potions(or removing) and such around the dungeon. but the player stats, weapon stats, monster stats, traps and such that I've placed in the dungeon will not be adjusted.
This way I'll have a cleaner set of data when the first test run is over. then I'll run a second test run (depending on the time of this one) and then I'll start to make the grand adventure that I'll put up when its time for this game to get its own real run. But! as i've said, I've got 4 other games that have priority :)

Okay.. quadobble post I know.. but I'd like to avoid using the game thread for messages and question.

The question is simple... would you guys like to place a max update speed? say maximum 1/day or 1/second day?
I ask because I know I update and post a lot here in the start of the game, mostly to get it started.. but I don't wanna stress you guys out...

Hey, forgot to mention that i really like the art here. The sprite are expressive and well done and there's like this beam of light shining down into the lower room in the most recent update, shining on a sleeping orc. That light beam is a really neat effect.

who? eh... I don't understand the question?
There are 2 orc's on the first floor, and both are angry.. one is just awoken, the other have been awake for 2 rounds (since the first lock pick attempt) and is getting an axe from a chest...
was that what you mean? or is there a joke I don't get?

Thanks a lot.. I'm really glad you like it :)
the "light beam" is the field of view.. so that you can see what your characters can see. :)

ahh :S
Ah... My wife just explained to me what you meant..
Sorry... I meant Too, not Two... I suffer from Dysgraphica, short version: I cannot see the differences if I make a typo, if I Know what its Supposed to say, I cannot see it does not say that... and sadly, to too and two are things I often mess up.. the other Orc is angry too... will fix.

BeanDip wrote:LAYF, I hate to ask and seem rude or stupid, but I'm interested. If you don't want to answer then that's cool.

Does your dysgraphia only affect your English writing or your Danish too?
Danish too. If you have Dysgraphica, it affects ability to see what is actually there within a set boundary, if you have an expectation to what SHOULD be there.
In my chase, its the Latin alphabet in ordered structure that is affected.
so lets say someone writes "I have two frogs" but out of habit, I read "I have two dogs" from that point on, as long as I remember the text, and its not changed, my brain will replace the f with a d. so that it always says "dogs" and even if others write "frogs" in the same context, I'll probably see it a dogs. unless someone writes f-r-o-g-s or I'm told by word what it is (my wife helps me a lot here)

The good thins with danish over english is that I do not make the same typos, and that my spelling and gamma checker is a lot better at danish... so for the most part, its only when I read danish that problems pop up...

And I've gotten a habit of splitting words up in both English and Danish if problems arise and I'm really lost... so.. i'ts not half the problem it was a year ago (just ask people here on the forum)

oh.. and I have no problem talking about it, In fact, I'm happy when people correct me, that way I might get a habit out of typing the words in question right the first time .... :)

I actually deleted the post when I did some research on dysgraphia. After that, my question seemed sort of silly. Thank you for answering though :)

Ah.. I can see :P

Ah well... does not hurt.. Most resourses on dysgraphica are worth nothing.. really... mostly because few of those who have it ever get diagnosed with it.. most are just declared to have dyslexia if it hits an alphabet, and those who have it on other areas are nearly newer even discovered...

Now I feel bad about making this joke. Well I understand you, I know many people suffering this same problem. Real plague in today's Polish school are false certificates that people are buying from doctors to gain their children extra time and points on exams. That causes many people to ignore the problem, stating that dysfunction = laziness.

The ghostly bard in the corner of the room picks up his stringed instrument and begins strumming and singing in a deep voice.

Stand my Orc brothers and don't bend the knee.
Yes, fight fight, and make the pink ones bleed.

-Ghostly bard "dosing? ohh.. doing! well, I'm cheering for you to win?"
-Random orc "What for why?"
-Ghostly bard "Oh, I just want one of the adventures to die so I can take his place?"
-Random orc "Adventure is you want to be?"
-Ghostly bard "Oh yes. very much so!"
-Random orc: Swings axe and cuts off the head of the Ghostly bard.
-Random orc "Mom says, deal with things before things becomes problem and deals with you!"

As the axe swings and passes through the neck of the ghostly bard, he lets out a sigh and says "Thus is the life of a bard, die for the beutiful musik that he writes."

"Fear not dear Orc friend, I has your back". With that, the ghostly bard once more picks up his stringed instrument and begins to sing again, this time in a more annoying voice.

Orc brothers, don't let the pink ones play you for fools.
They'll take you and enslave you, and make you into tools.

Rise up, my brothers, and strike the invaders down.
When this fight, is over, I'll buy you all a round.

...etc

lol :) love the cheerleader!

LAYF - If 'regain vitality' is once a day only, do you think you could change it to a standard HP amount (e.g. you recover 4 as standard). Because it would suck balls to get all the way through the day, roll to heal right before the end boss fight or something and only recover 1. As a daily, it's only ever going to be used in emergencies anyway, and it would be nice to have it a little more powerful for a one-off.

Theoretically:
dark areas are "seen already, but not at the moment" right? And it shows what was it looking like, when it was last seen right? So the orc down there is probably awake and waiting for players to come, but we can still see him sleeping right?

Hmm... how about 2+1d2/LvL instead then.. still variable, but much more secure, and raises with the levels (3-4 at lvl1, 4-6 at 2nd, 5-8 at 3rd and so one) The reason I like it variable is because I don't want players to count to much on it to save their A**

*strum, Strum* (sung, somewhat, to the tune of Hotel California)

You like to sleep in stables...You like to sleep in grass...
You like to slaughter humans...and kick them in the ass...
Your big and strong and mighty...Your stinky and you're green
Not counting my mother-in-law, you're the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

*Strum, Strum*

You like to drink and party...You like to bathe in blud/mud
You like to kill humans and make them into yummy fud.
Now rise and fight my brothers...for yummy fuds have come
Rise above your elders, and be more than big, green and dummmmmm
