Dammit. She wasn't supposed to let on about that yet. Now our plan is...

Uhm, that is, she's being very silly. Nothing like that would ever happen with us. Really.

You'd be surprised how many people buy tickets. The last jackpot was 425M. http://www.megamillions.com/

Dlover wrote::shock: That's a lot of money if you win the pot. Except if it's anything like the one we have that offers a lot of money, the odds of winning are 1:(Some number with four more digits than the number of seconds the universe has existed) Seriously, that's not an exaggeration, that is literally what the odds of success were calculated to be. Of course, it was only using a rough estimate of the time the universe has existed, but still. Four digits.
So the Universe has only existed 9 years or so? ;)

I'm going to move so Lin is my teacher 'cause if the Universe is only 9...then I must be 9! :confetti:

Although I also apparently earned a PhD at age five... :waitwtf:

Geeze I'm smart! :P

@nickhol, because it is a progressive jackpot that rolls over constantly...It has been as high as $612 million one time when the odds were not as bad...

Our gambling has incredibly low odds of success. You have to pick the exact numbers and order of those numbers with something like seven of fifty possible numbers or somesuch. I don't pay attention to the specifics of it.
My game:
Hunters of Letrua; Character list
Also Player / Monster stats, skill lists.

My characters:
Tugs Tails, the goblin that was sort of a trapper and wears a bear's tail at his neck, for some reason - Lair of the Mountain King (Run by Thinks)
Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)

Well for the US ball games it is select a set of numbers (5 typically) and then a sixth...the odds are quite long...just not 4.235X10^17

If they were that bad, then likely the Mega Millions Jackput would have been renamed the Mega Billion Jackpot since the likelyhood of anyone getting a prize in the last ten years would have still been nil...

That was a busy weekend.

I kind of tanked my finals. I'm sure I passed the classes but as usual I froze up on the actual tests and did perfectly fine on my written essays.

Eh, maybe it was minutes rather than seconds. But the odds of winning the pot are pretty damn close to zero. The upside isn't that the pot is worth more, though, but that you can win smaller amounts on a better probability too, if you have a some matching numbers. Only double digits or triple digits, but considering it's about $1 for a ticket it's not that bad. In the long run you don't actually lose much money, if any.

I'm considering getting Starbound... don't see how much different it is from Minecraft though, except that it's in 2D (never played Terraria, either)... spent about $125 on early christmas games for myself that's my story and I'm sticking to it and most of them turned out boring, or maybe I'm just jaded.

You go, Asks! Kick some ass, just not your patient's ass! Unless that turns out to be the cure for them or something. You tell me since you've been studying medicine. :P
