Oh, wow, we're giving ToR another shot after all? It'd be really cool if we could pull it off, and it'd probably be a fair amount of effort (which I can't really contribute to - I've checked my history and came up empty), but there are only, like, six players left, so if we can get this game back up off the ground, it'd become much easier for you to DM and for the players to keep track of everything. I think we could pull it off.

(And I won't hold it against you if we try it and it doesn't work out. Just be sure you run something. You're a good DM, M0rt.)

From what I remember, Ansem needs an arm, but Gideon, continuing to be a dick says no and that he is 'upset' that he attacked the guards. And look like they were about to fight...which we were trying to stop? I think?

The Lancer is the second-in-command, and he serves as a foil to the Hero. They don't get an actual lance; they're just called that because of some convoluted reason that has to do with knights and professional soldiers. Hears is unassuming and diplomatic, while Cut is distrusting and aggressive - until they get into combat, when Hears becomes the violent one and Cut takes on a supportive healing role. They make for pretty good polar opposites.

(That said, I'm not sure whether Born and Cut make a better Hero/Lancer pair (not sure which is which), which would make Hears the Big Guy and Drowns the Chick. It works just as well, but I decided to play it safe and not make someone else's male character the Chick while making my own character the Hero. Go figure.)

And yeah, I remember what's going on. Ansem's body was destroyed beyond recognition, and the Mind Guardian took over to keep them both alive. Gideon doesn't trust MG (which would probably be exactly the right thing to do in any other situation) and thinks he's another of Wants Us Dead's robot masters, so he wants to deny him medical attention at the clinic Drowns is working at. I wasn't caught up on the updates when the original forum crashed, but I think that's the main important bit that's going on right now.

Cut does not like that you said that he was secound in command, when clearly he is the leader. He has the abilities for it, he is a teller (even if it was from a different clan), he's trying to be in charge (you guys are too choatic and I am too leniant that it affects him too) Obviously he takes the hero role.

Yeah, that was poorly worded. The Hero doesn't have to be the leader, and the Lancer doesn't have to be the second-in-command. It's more that the Hero's the protagonist and the Lancer's the deuteragonist. Think Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. (Besides, the Hero's usually the nicer one.)

...Wait, maybe Hears is the Hero and Voices is the Lancer.

I did a bit of digging to find out how five-man bands with seven people are handled (because of course people are going to try and describe groups with seven people as five-man bands), and there's a less-used Token Evil Teammate role that suits Born pretty much perfectly.

I... guess we're a seven-person group now? Somehow?

And yeah, I liked Born as the Chick, since he's trying to keep the group together and keep everyone stable; he's just being self-destructive and pretty evil about it, which makes the Chick label kind of darkly hilarious.

Oh, he's both. I mean, he's constantly running into ridiculous problems that he has to solve, and that's always fun, but he's lying to the group, prying into people's minds, and having secret dealings with increasingly dangerous people to try and figure out what's going on. Not to mention, when he isn't angrily judging people and suggesting we kill everybody, Madness is doing it while his back is turned. It's not like he's stealing loot and stabbing people in the back, but he's pretty much an antihero.

With all this talking of "the chick" you guys can better be damn sure there's going to be a cursed item which will decide who is going to be "the chick".

Anyways- Short version of the previous turn:

Gideon "arrested" Born, Cut and Dares(who left) because he believed they were responsible for leading Ansem to the city. They then go to where Ansem went, which is the little healing store where Drowns was.

There was a dispute between Gideon and Ansem (currently being controlled by the mind guardian) Which didn't end in any attacks but feelings were tense. Gideon accused Ansem of being of the same source the "robot" from the first attack was from.

Ansem seemed to be horribly burnt- However, it seemed that has been the case so for longer, because the mind guardian insists to stop worrying about that "detail" and take a look at his arm which needs to be regenerated after it was lost in the battle against Fa- ... "Lost his head".

Studies in the meanwhile was studying at the tower, while Boom was at the wizards tower looking into alchemy.

So get me actions guys!

Cut gives born the recharable minor holy item with heal 2 in it. "Well it seems that I have forgotten what I was going to do, but it seems that we are no longer in a bind. You have no hold upon us, for while this...man is here for us, he is of no threat, he does not bring out his weapons, he does not look prepared for battle, and if he was I have no control over this. But I presume that you do not care. And with that lack of caring, you two can carry on with whatever you are doing. But if you atack him, it is all on you, you are to blame, not I and not those with me."

Cut leaves and buys a few things, a catalyst, spellbook of presigitation (get rapier from the now not goblin)

I remember this being longer....much much longer. with an arm sling.

By the way, what happens to all that loot the rest of the party had? I bet that sword that heals you when you get kills or deal damage with it or something would go great on Drowns, since he's now our designated tank.
