Any questions, talk and so one...

I'd love to have here... so not to bulk up the game thread....

Any one have any suggestions for Hobbyes for Player characters?

Here is the current list....

-Analyst (25% better chance to get a blueprint when dismantling machines and tools)
-Builder (can place 2 Engineering items per round)
-Climber (Can scale vertical walls, starts with a 30 pixel rope)
-Contractor (+10% chance to use 50% less resources when building)
-Dark artists (+10% risk of taking damage from dark arts, +10% chance to identify dark arts, starts with 1 simple spell)
-Diver (Can be under water for up to 5 rounds, starts with a bag (Bag can hold 2 extra tools))
-Farmer (gains +1 Food from any food source, starts with one farming manual)
-Guard (+25% chance to inflict damage)
-Hero (+10% chance to avoid damage and +1HP)
-Inventor (+10% chance to invent machines, starts with one blueprint)
-Metal miner (gains +1 Metal from any ore vain, starts with a pick axe and a bag (Bag can hold 2 extra tools or recourses))
-Mineral miner (gains + 1 Mineral when carving minerals, starts with a pick axe and a bag (Bag can hold 2 extra tools))
-Ninja (+25% chance not to be noticed by enemies)
-Scientist (+10% chance to find new properties of recourses)

What about a builder? Like, can carry around more resources (assuming they need to be carried)/tools and can build a structure faster/with more success?

Just some ideas: mix and match as you want:

Builder (+10% chance to use 50% less resources when building)
Ninja (+25% chance not to be noticed by enemies)

I like those Ideas :) but I'll add it like this:

Contractor (+10% chance to use 50% less resources when building)

Does ladder require a wall or can it be attached to background wall?

Tis ladder requiers a wall. (the world is 2d ) but maybe you can find or invent a ladder that can stand by itself...

No.. you have to go through it, but 1) its not sure its harmull 1 dont know... and 2) even if it is... its not sure it will damage him this round (%Chanses)

Or you know, someone could pick a diver, so they can hold breath for 5 rounds, and go through that gas.

Unless the gas is corrosive. Or flammable. Or a contact poison. Or a sign of a deadly creature exhaling.

Yes. But I don't think flammable gas will make some difference. And diver will have better chance of survival.

Well..

All player characters can "dismantle" items, in the hope of get Blueprints and recourses.
Analyts have a greater chance to gain blue prints when doing this.

If you note in the bottom of each update. there are this:
► Show Spoiler
These are Engineering Items that player characters can build (at the cost listed behind the item) this is not voted on, this is simply something players say they will do, and can do if there are Recourses for it.
The Blue prints are either invented, found or re-created by dismanteling items.
Builders can build 2 of these each round, instead of 1 as other characters.

All player characters can try and "Invent" new items, from player descripotions, but it is hard and costs recourses...
Inventors have better chence of suceeding in these tasks.

About D: no, sadly you do not have any means to get up yet. (no rope, no free standing ladders or any thing....

I am totaly going to be an inventor. I think.

We should coordinate among players a little bit, since we could definately use a farmer, both kinds of miner, builder, contractor, diver, climber, etc.
I survived the forum move 4 times... yeah, I feel old.

I think coordinating is a good idea....

You'll have at least 2 hours and 30 minutes for it... maybe more, but im planning to update between 23 and 24 danich time (wich is 2,5 - 3,5 hours away...)

I already stated Inventor character. I'm going to invent free standing ladder / stairs (so we can go up that tunnel). We can do a list of things to invent.

There is also a scientist, which can research item properties (like copper or green food).

Maybe LAYF would be nice and ADD the bonuses when 2 inventors work on the same problem.

Well... there is nothing preventing multiple characters with same hobby...
On the other side... It will be posible to gain multiple hobbies later....

Oh.. I will... Multiple characters working together adds up.. to a limit of 95% :)

Working on things (not using SA or FH) adds 5%
Using SA adds 20%
Using FH adds 50%

You can use as many SA or FH's as you want...

SA and FH gains more attention in hte text and has the posibility to make even greater results.....

(Please note that these % are not the total... buta % of the % likelyness how posible things are.... so.... if its 50% likly to be posible. 80% "vote points" would mean a 40% cnance to suceed)

I've chosen a Diver, so hopefully that'll help get food and things at first, and maybe prove useful later.

Don't know about going through that gas though, if it's more possible as a Diver I'll try it.

Just a question, do all the PC and NPC myrmen need to eat 1 food each round? If so, then adding new players into the game might be a bit suicidal at this point, since they have to produce 6 items of food each round now in order to not being starved to death. Which means at least two of them have to spend 1 nature lore point to learn farming and has to constantly get green stuff to keep the stocks up...

For Gamecreator and TTW... (and anyone later choosing Inventor as starting hobby)
Come with suggestions to what you'd like to have blueprints over... more or less anything (not to advanced yet) is possible...

TTW... I figured you wanted to be an Inventor, but if im wrong, just say so... also... You need a name.... (unless you just wants to be 5

Yess they do... Oh..

OOHHH... sorry.. forgot something.... Every new character was supposed to come with 5 units of food and water.....

What is the new item that I thought was a gas mask? Can I pick ANY blueprint, cause if so, I'll take another mother machine. If I'm more limited than that, and the earlier item is not a gas mask, then we really do need a stand alone lader, unless you will let someone try swinging a pickaxe on a rope to try to climb up to one of the tunnles above us, in which case can I wait to decide what my blueprint is? Wait, a mother machine is already one of our engineering items, and yet a shovel is not. I'm kind of confused at what the difference is now between a blueprint, an engineering item, and something one of our machines can build.

My char name could simply be "T", if that would help replace a 5. Otherwise, TTW works or goblinized names like Itsa short for "Its Alive". Seems good for a mad scientist inventor type.

LAYF, I think you need to update the first post, either here or in the game thread, using lots of spoilers, but to show who is a character, what their hobbies are, rules, the calender, what can be built, etc. So that is in one place. Then you might get away with less info in game updates, including just the new or chaanged things once.

At the moment, I don't know if the machine can build a pick, or how much it would cost. Same for rope. I don't know what other players hobbies are, so that I can suggest actions to them. Etc.
