Because of our choices, I know we have :
-Standard Kit: One lascarbine and four charge packs per PC(Main Weapon), one suit of Imperial Guard flak armour per PC, one respirator per PC, one grav-chute per PC, two frag grenades and two smoke grenades per PC
And
-Either replaces standard melee weapon with a Common(or more available) Low-Tech Weapon, or apply the mono upgrade to its standard melee weapon

But I don't know more.

Of course, you have the Standard Starting Kit, which for Drop Troopers includes: One lascarbine and four charge packs per PC(Main Weapon), one suit of Imperial Guard flak armour per PC, one respirator per PC, one grav-chute per PC, two frag grenades and two smoke grenades per PC, 1 Uniform, 1 set of poor weather gear, 1 knife, 1 rucksack or slingbag, 1 mess kit and 1 water canteen, 1 blanket and 1 sleeping bag, 1 set of basic tools, 1 rechargeable lamp pack, 1 grooming kit, 1 set of cognomen tags or equivalent identification, 1 primer or instructional handbook, 2 weeks' supply of combat sustenance rations.

Because of the Hardened Fighters Doctrine you guys also have the following change to make: Either replaces standard melee weapon with a Common(or more available) Low-Tech Weapon, or apply the mono upgrade to its standard melee weapon (Which right now would be the knife).

Common Low-Tech Weapons include: Spear, Staff, Sword, Truncheon, Shield, Flintlock Pistol, Flintlock Musket, Bow, Sling, and Crossbow.

I would say make the Melee weapon a Sword.

Is the M36 Lasgun "Better" than the Lascarbine?

Quick comparison:
Las Carbine- 75m range, Single shot, or 2 shot semi-automatic burst, 1d10+3 Energy damage, no Pen, 60 rounds a clip, Reload half action, Reliable, 2.5k
M36 Lasgun- 100m range, Single shot, or 3 shot semi-automatic burst, 1d10+3 Energy damage, no Pen, 60 rounds a clip, Reload full turn action, Reliable, 4k

So it has a bit further range, can get an extra shot off when you shoot a burst, but it takes a full round to reload and is heavier.

i would say go with the carbine and apply the mono upgrade to the knife because the sword is just gonna be heavy and i think the knife can double as a bayonet on the lasguns

Having a bayonet on the las carbine is actually a Weapon Upgrade called Melee Attachment, it would count as adding an item of Plentiful availability to the regiment standard kit.

I think we should add the Advanced Med Kit(15), an Auspex or Scanner(10) and...What do Filtration Plugs do?

Filtration plugs are worn in the nostrils, they give a 210 bonus to Toughness Tests made to to resist the effects of damaging gases.

I would like the Additional Standard Gear to come to an agreement by Monday, and then I will summarize for you guys and gals what bonuses you gain from the Regiment when you create your character.

I like the Auspex, but am more inclined with the Medkit though. And I would say the Laspistol as a secondary weapon. That's 30pts right there.

Applying the mono upgrade to the knife would do what exactly?

Applying the mono upgrade to any melee weapon makes it no longer count as Primitive, adds +2 to it's Penetration. It can be applied to any Low-Rech melee weapon.

Note, the way gear works in Only War: Nothing you use is yours. It was given to you my the Departmento Munitorum and you are accountable for it's maintenance and existence. Losing or breaking your gear needs to have a good explanation, and is often harshly dealt with (you can be executed for losing your main weapon in some of the stricter regiments). Your Standard gear is the gear every soldier in your regiment, regardless of their specialization, is issued. The Psyker may not be able to hit the broad side of a tank with his lasgun, but he knows how a trigger works and is expected to maintain it, even if he never takes it out of his footlocker except to clean it. All gear listed in your regiments Standard Gear is Routine to get replaced (+20 on Logistics tests). You are issued your Specialist Gear as well, but it is not as easy to replaced unless it is also part of your regiment's standard gear. When you go on a mission you are issued Mission Gear, based on a test. Sometimes you can be issued gear that they Munitorum did not intend for you, and such equipment is not on record. There is not buying system, instead you can try trading with other squads, though some of the higher ups look down on such actions.

I assume the points system would indicate rarity, which means that the Medkit is just as hard to find as the Preysense goggle. However, I guess those would be a good thing to have.

So, Auspex(10), Preysense Goggles(15), Laspistol Sidearm(5)

Sounds pretty unanimous.

Ok so I'll compile all of this and post the Regiment's stat block. You guys can flavor it up now if you like. What do your uniforms look like, what is the name of the regiment, where are they from, do they have a motto, how old is the regiment, etc.

Also, was the vote for the Melee weapon to make the knife a mono-edge?

Here an idea

59th Drop Troops Regiment "Black Crows"

Motto: "Like Crows we are many, No matter how many you shot down will keep coming until our job is done"

Not going to lie when I thought of this idea I imagine them just like the starship troopers from the movie. :D

Uniforms: Pretty much like the starship troopers http://www.swchick.com/images/costumes/ ... rie_sc.jpg

Armor: black flak armour http://alsolikelife.com/shooting/wp-con ... rge_05.jpg

Background: The regiment is 10 years old and was specifically made for the people who were born from the Hiveworld Corvus. Corvus is a war torn planet which has many craters that were made from the Imperial Guard battle with the Heresy. The reason why Corvus is the recruiting ground for the Black Crows is because people from this world have adopted natural free falling ability to get around certain area of the planet.

I like it. How about the Planet is named Corvus(Latin for Crow) and it is a regular Raven Guard recruiting ground. The hive world also has many craters and canyons in the cityscape caused by wars during the Heresy and after, which stupid children and aspiring drop troopers use for base jumping.
