You follow me? Are you a fan? Sorry I don't do autographs.
You can have a close look at my rapier though.

Marty sticks his Rapier into the Goblin and then moves on to N13.

Marty attacks the goblins and finishes him with his rapier, the goblin didn't see that coming. (Get it? Because he was blinded by the shield?)
All the goblins were killed!

The kobolds act now. The 2 kobolds on the south of the arena still can't move as they are trapped in the tentacles. The other 2, however attack the dwarf while still prone. They both miss him and both hit the shield. As the first one hits it the shield it seems as nothing happened. But the second shield cause the nameless dwarf look much less appealing. MUCH. LESS. Like if his Charisma score was reduced to 4. Well, that's what just happened.

The nameless dwarf attacks the wounded kobold while trying to make sure the kobolds don't hit the shield.

Trollin goes to G-18, he is way too far away from the action.

The nameless dwarf attack the injured kobold and an ugly "crunch" sound is heard when his flail hits the kobold's head. He is probably dead now.

Trollin decide to move to where the whole action is, he moves to G18.

Grubb moves to the left as far as possible, away from the advancing halfling and the green tentacles, yelling "Get away from me! You won't get my beard that easy!".
That said, he shoots at Marty.

OOC: Sorry someone, but I created him as a dwarf who doesn't like other races much, he likes to be with his own kind. Did not expect us to be 3 dwarves, so you are the obvious target. :/
I really prefer pve to pvp. ;)

Of course my actions depend now very much on the outcome of Grubbs turn, but i do some predictions and asumptions.

Grubb moves as far as possible to the left, bringing him on Q6 with standard Dwarfen movement of 20 feet... (move action 20 feet, and the shooting as st. action).

When and if i am right, Marty will charge him and reach him within 7 squares of movement on P7 (which is coincidently the closest space from which i can attack)
(The 20 foot are 4 squares, a diagonal move counts as 1 if it is the first and 2 for second)

Visualization (because i can)

Image

If my guess is right, and if i remember charging rules correct then this should work.

If, of course i am wrong somewhere i will wait for my actions until i see the result of Grubbs turn... and sorry if i am wrong here (wow that is a lot of if's) and please correct me.

Also if everything goes as planned you deserve another war cry whilst charging:

Hickory dickory dock
A dwarf ain't hard like rock
My rapier will hurt him bad,
and dwarf will be sad!
Hickory dickory dock!

Maybe Grubb is faster than an ordinary dwarf, since he is a ranger. Don't know.

Also I wrote away from the tentacles AND the halfling, not only away from the tentacles. So he also walks left and a little bit down, towards the lower left corner.

That would be T-7 or R-6, the halfling still gets to you with his charge.

T-9 would've protected you from that, but there's always the danger to be grabbed by the tentacles (also, it's too late).

I'll wait for Word of Bob, where he places Grubb after his movement description and accept whatever he says.
No problem.
But i'd like to state everyone should make clear movement descriptions, that is why we use a battlegrid, I guess.

So, with that out of the way, let's beginn to have fun again and slaughter each other the best we can!

Tl;dr:
So, as dwarf you have normally a movement of 20feet or 4 squares unless you are a 3rd lvl monk or 1st lvl barbarian, then it would be 30feet or 6 squares.
If you move diagonally every 2nd diagonal square counts as 2 squares.
Hope that helps.

Grubb moves to the south west and releases a bolt on Marty, he misses Marty and does not hit the shield.

Marty at return charges at Grubb and stabs him with his rapier, he stabs it inside Grubb's arms and deals 9 damage.

The Kobold who can still act misses the nameless dwarf and his shield. So sad.

The nameless dwarf uses magic to spawn a fiendish rat. The rat attacks the kobold and kills it off.

Trollin was a good friend of that kobold so he decides to kill the rat who did this. He throws a spear at it and hits the poor rat, killing it.

Grubb does a tackle attack at Marty, trying to push/throw him into the green stuff in S9. If it works and he got time he steps out of his melee range, maybe even shoots at him.
