The "2-Headed beast" challenge! Make your own!

Post by LAYF » Mon Mar 25, 2013 1:30 pm

Okay. This is only partly a game. ItÔÇÖs more of a challenge.
From time to time, the Them will change, to other creatures, but we will start with dragons.

So many of you are gone dragon crazy. So now I challenge you all:
Create your own dragon:
You can draw it with pen and paint, computer or whatever you will.
You can do it from the bottom or change others work (but then remember to give credit)
The style can be any you will. But it must be a dragon.
You must post pictures of the creation process.
You must tell what tools you used:
You can make as many as you want.

Here is my own creation, itÔÇÖs a Morph of two dragons from Dragon cave:
Image

and the process
Image

Tools:
Paint and GIMP.

Due credit: all original images were taken from the Dragon cave wiki: dragcave.wikia.com/ and the result of said images are fan art.

This is awesome, but I have none of the technical skills required. Don't suppose you take requests?
You either die Chaotic, or you live long enough to see yourself become Lawful.

I can try.. but only the morphing like the one above... do you have any special in mind?

If you dont know, you can find a ton of dragon images here: http://dragcave.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Types

Edit: Oh and thanks :D

The morphing was what I had in mind, but I'd have to shop around a bit. Mostly I just wanted to add this thread to my feed so I was making a pretext to say something. o:) :cheer: >:D

Arles, just a quick note: you're awesome. That is all.
"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day. You had a bad day once. Am I right? I know I am. I can tell. You had a bad day and everything changed."

Haha, thanks for the sick praise, guys!

I liked the challenge idea because I had never actually drawn a dragon before, so I had to do a little research before starting.
I still think some things anatomy-wise are a little off, but I'm pleased with the overall final piece.
Now I'm afraid of ruining it if I attempt coloring, haha.

I think Arles has pretty much won the thread.

Nevertheless, I'm posting my pictures in the hopes of encouraging people to draw their own dragons too!
(You can't make a worse picture than the ones following up in this post, heh.)

The first part is actually cheating: I ran a mini game series on the old forum called "Small Mystery Games", and one of the tasks was that the players post random geometric shapes. Little did they know, I used the shapes they told me to draw a dragon, with an exact order for parts in which the input came. Luckily, the shapes turned out more-less easy.

Here is the result of that experiment:

Since I cannot post a "progress" picture of that, and to eventually make something "new" for this challenge, I decided to redraw the same dragon with Gimp. Fair warning: It did NOT get much better, but looks more draconic, imho. :D

Nice one Bob. Bob I'm sorry I'll replace you with Bob... he looks more like a dragon, so from now on you are known a boB instead of Bob.

**im impressed by the eyes, are they made of patience or paper ;) :P
