The girl then jumps back with a short cry, Max stepping between her Trainer and the strange Pok├®mon. ÔÇ£No, wait, Max!ÔÇØ Sam calls, her voice nearly under control as she looks at the Pok├®mon. ÔÇ£L-look, I donÔÇÖt think this is the best place for youÔǪ Are you lost?ÔÇØ

Meanwhile, Max blinks up at the pair of blue eyes, taking a breath and collecting her nerve should there be a fight ahead of her.

Sam blinks as well, then takes a careful hold of her Pok├®Dex and points it at the Pok├®mon, holding down the button which will result in a Scan of the creature. ÔÇ£Ma...Maybe I can find out where you live and help you get there, okay?ÔÇØ

"Heheheh...Had me worried that something was really wrong. How'd you get stuck in there anyway? Didn't you get under there in the first place?" Bennet will say, attempting to lift up the bed enough to get his Durant out. If that doesn't work, he will return him and let him out in front of the bed. "Well, that was a funny way to start the day...I'm gonna go check on Valant."

He will then lead the two of them out to the main room and inquire into how Valant is.

Because her feet and back were still hurting from yesterday, the way was slower than usual and in fact, Rae had made a little break while still in sight of the Paras and their bigger cousin... To watch them a little, but also to give Albrecht the possibility to look around... And he SEEMED to be lucky this time.

She hadn't really planned of entering the gym, but when the door opens, the girl stops nonetheless, keeping a distance between herself and the man.

"Yes," she answers, intensively examining him, too, as if she wanted to estimate if he could pose a danger, then looking directly into his eyes, her own gaze shimmering in the rising darkness.

Rachels long hair was moving slightly in the wind that was blowing through Vespers branches, like the strings of a harp which were twitchet slightly by an artist, while her whole body was straight and the bodylanguage calm, if a little defensive and standing above all around. She wasn't weak.

"We are just looking for darknessactive pokemon... Or a match."

Hard Case clicks his mandibles pitifully when Bennet questions him. But happily scrambles out from under the bed as Bennet manages to lift it up a few inches.

With his pokemon in tow he heads out into the lobby area, where Nurse Hallam is typing away at the computer. Looking up, ÔÇ£Good morning Mr. Nole. I guess you didn't have any problems falling asleep last night.ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£Yes... Well, your pansear is better now. I won't sugar coat it he has a pretty nasty scar on his chest. But as long as you don't have another incident like this for a day or two, it should be barely noticeable in that time. So if you put your pokedex in the slot I can bring him out to you.ÔÇØ He says with an unusually stern face.

ÔÇ£Do you want me to bring food for your pokemon while I'm at it?ÔÇØ He asks as an afterthought.

As Kilf slowly sneaks up to the pokemon before him. It's going pretty well, until he kicks a rock causing a miniature rock slide. The pokemon's head snaps up to look at Kilf and Biggs. It carefully eyes them as Klif raises his pokedex to scan the pokemon.

"Girafarig, the long neck pokemon. Girafarig is known for having a second head on its tail, this head has a small brain of its own that lets it keep watch 24 hours a day. This head will also lash out and bite anything that gets too close."

ÔÇ£Oh... Alright, I guess I'm still not used to kids coming here after sundown. Well I'm sorry, you're not going to find a match here right now. Unless you want to give the gym leader a shot.ÔÇØ He says quite relaxed now. The last bit he adds with a wink.

ÔÇ£I never named my Nincada. And the only reason I nicknamed my Sandshrew is because it's a pain to say sandshrew when I could just say Shrew instead. Now then, Spheal use water gun.ÔÇØ

The spheal looks at Malcolm and with a roll of its eyes looks at Midnight, takes a deep breath and launches a stream of water at that hits Midnight right in the chest. Or it would have if Midnight hadn't taken to the skies once again.

With another flap of her wings she sends another miniature tornado spinning towards the ground. Where it slams into the space the spheal was occupying mere milliseconds before.

3rd Day, First Month, Year 1694 [5:32]

The pokemon continues to stare at Sam as she raises her pokedex to it. Seconds later the pokedex states "Beautifly, the butterfly pokemon. While not the only butterfly pokemon this one is easily noted for its bright colors. During the spring it uses its mouth to feed on its favorite food, plant pollen."

The beautifly's antennas reach out and gently touch Sam's head, and the beautifly quickly scurries back above the door where it lets out a weak, "Beee."

After another few seconds Sam's pokedex revels that the Beautifly does in fact belong to nobody.

Ok, so summer started this week for me. And I travel a lot over the summer. But I'll bring my laptop and try to update when I can.

In other words, next week's updates will be spotty, as in I update when I have internet and time. And the week after there won't be any updates at all, going camping/ kayaking.

But then I'm back for a couple of weeks. I'll try and keep you guys posted on my schedule, so you don't think I just disappeared.

And yeah, let's feed my Pokemon now." Bennet will say, inserting his Pokedex into the slot to get Valant back, releasing him immediately. "Hey Dude...Sorry about what happened yesterday. That was a real screw up. How are you feeling?"

Sam freezes when the Wild Beautifly touches her head with its antennas, and Max watches with a mixture of uncertainty and perhaps a touch of relief that it doesnÔÇÖt seem hostile.

You seem nice, but sad Sam offers, looking up at the insect as it sits above her door. I dont have any food on me, and I dont know where you can find any plant pollen I dont think Sprout has any.

The girl moves towards the door to the tree and opens it slowly, I have to do some chores now But maybe if youre still here when Im done, I can see if theres any juice left over? Orvegetables, or something? If not, best of luck finding pollen.

SheÔÇÖs recalled Max and is just about to step inside with she shakes her head slightly, bites her lower lip, shakes her head and then opens her eyes wide, meeting the large bug's eyes and letting her breath out slowly. Then the girlÔÇÖs yellow eyes start to glow, as her heart and mind reach out to the creature, seeking to better understand the source of its distress.

On second thought, my original instinct was right, and Sam would try to channel a Pok├®mon that seems to be in trouble, but not violent.

The girl just shakes her head, even when being called a "kid" annoys her a little.

"No. I will go on to train at least some more, before I approach Angela. At the moment, my team still hast to become accustomed to each other. We will come, when we have broken the edges of a little."

Rachel doesn't seem to have gotten the wink at all, or if she did, she didn't get the joke and so answered absolutely seriously. Then her eyes become more focused, as the man says something to catch her interest.

"You do ? That sounds... Intriguing. Hrmmm... What pokemon ? And where ?"

Yes, that seems to have gotten her curious... Skorpan looks up behind Raes Leg in the Meanwhile... Humans sure were big compared to Sentrets...

ÔÇ£I bet that was entertaining. But I guess you got him out ok.ÔÇØ The Nurse says with a smile. But with the next question the smile quickly disappears, ÔÇ£Err... Let me get your pokemon and food before I answer that.ÔÇØ he answers much too quickly.

He quickly stands up knocking one of the pokeballs on the counter to the ground as he moves to the back room.

In a few moments he returns with four bowls of the same bland food and Valents pokeball. ÔÇ£I took the liberty of feeding your Pansear earlier this morning when he woke up. Hope you don't mind.ÔÇØ Looking at the counter his eyes go wide as he searches around. Noticing the pokeball he points to it, ÔÇ£Could you get that for me?ÔÇØ

Accepting the pokeball he sits back down. ÔÇ£Ok, you want to know what happened last night. Well, for most trainers when they get hurt they patch themselves up. Or in your case family members will do it. But on the rare occasion that they are critically wounded they come here... Well last night a fairly new trainer, I think you met him first day. Mr. Robinson, was brought in. He was attacked by a pokemon and found unconscious next to his Larvitar... The police officer who found him happened to be the same one who reported the incident at your house.ÔÇØ Nurse Hallam pauses taking a drink from his coffee mug. ÔÇ£Well the officer began to patch him up... But he wouldn't stop bleeding. She brought him here, hoping I could help. But apparently he lied on his applications, according to the blood tests, and his parents, he had hemophilia... And I don't have any way to treat that here.ÔÇØ Drawing a hand over his face, he leans back in his chair.

ÔÇ£And sadly he passed away last night... And that's why you heard a commotion, I was explaining things to the officer.ÔÇØ

Raising up once again, ÔÇ£Sorry to have to start your day with bad news... But you would have heard about it sooner or later. Plus, I really don't want the same thing to happen to you. So promise you didn't lie on your trainer applications.ÔÇØ

Smiling down at Skorpan poking his head out from behind Rae's leg, the mans eyes rise to meet hers, ÔÇ£Well if you think your up to it. I've been hearing that a group of bulbasaur have been gathering in a glade about 15 minutes West of the city.ÔÇØ

Looking at Rae and her possibly confused look, ÔÇ£Oh... Sorry, I forgot, new trainer. Bulbasaur are a grass pokemon, they are said to gather in moonlit places when some of them are going to evolve. So you might even get a chance to see an Ivysaur.ÔÇØ

Pausing for a few moments, ÔÇ£Of course, I'm only going off of what I've heard. They may not actually be there.ÔÇØ

Give me an Int roll to see if Rae knows what it is. And it looks like a very sharp claw. Slightly yellowed, and curved, but at some point it was converted into a necklace. So a small metal chain, albeit slightly rusted, is weaved through the base of it. Albrecht is carrying it around his neck currently.

ÔÇ£What?ÔÇØ Malcolm stares at Richard in confusion. The human remark obviously flying over his head.

ÔÇ£Grrr, Stop distracting me! Spheal, jump up and use powder snow.ÔÇØ

The spheal, looks up and the flying Midnight and curls up into a ball. A silvery sheen coating the even more ball-like pokemon.

Midnight, taking advantage of the lapse in attack flies even higher and sends another tornado at Spheal. The tornado curls down and sends spheal rolling backwards a few feet, where he continues to stay in his tight ball.

Rachels eyes are getting even more interested... She didn't know much about Bulbasaurs, but she had heared of them... Her father had used to train one, if her mind didn't betray her...

"I think, I have heared of them... Not much, but I did. Sounds more than interesting..."

Yes, yes. Hearing about a new pokemon and the danger is forgotten. But in the end, it was just a few minutes from the city, if the man told the truth...

"I think, I am giving it a try.. A Grass-Pokemon would likely be a cool addition to my team... Maybe you could show it to me on the map ?"

A slight pause followed. Not only would it be good for her team, she was eager to see the Gathering, too ! More than one Bulbasaur... Ivysaurs, too ! And bathed in the moonlight... Wow...

"And thank you, Mr...?"

After getting to know the name of her helper, Rae nearly rushes off... After having called back both of her pokemon and sent Artemis out instead. If it got dangerous, it would be good to have a fire-pokemon out... But even if not, she wanted her starter to have a chance to see that unique happening, too ! Rae only gets slower and more careful when she thinks, she is near the place the man spoke about... Not, that the pokemon were running away, because she disturbed them...

"Please, please, let them be there...", Rachel mumbled, while again pressing a button on her Dex to make it silent, too. Then she looks down to Artemis, explaining to the pansear, what they are about to do...

"Maybe we will also see them evolve... Wouldn't that be great, Artemis ? I never saw an Evolution before..."

"What will happen to his Pokemon? Are they sent to Midnight or used for new trainers? And can I see Valant now?"

After repeated map checking, Rae steps out from behind another tree. Only to see a large empty field.

Artemis reaches up and gently taps Rae's knee pointing out towards the opposite edge of the field. As Rae looks on she can't make out anything, within the trees and shrubbery. But the moon suddenly comes out from behind the clouds and Rae can make out about 6 bulbs that appear to be on the back of a reptilian pokemon. But they move into the center of the glade, giving Rae a better view, in which see understands why she was having problems seeing them. They are a sea-green with dark green marks randomly placed over their bodies.

ÔÇ£Your weird... Spheal! Come on! Use water gun.ÔÇØ Malcolm shouts angrily.

The Spheal uncurls from its ball, and with a deep breath sends a jet of water that slams full on into Midnight, soaking her and causing her to fall a few meters before catching herself.

She once again launches another small tornado at spheal hitting him. He shakes himself, obviously breathing heavily.

"I can't find any flowers..."

That's when Sam remembers that most flowers don't bloom that soon after First Thaw. And those that do tend to be swarmed by hungry pokemon.

Samantha frowns slightly. When sheÔÇÖs first discovered this part of herself, her big brother had been trying to capture the Pok├®mon, and the second he did, the small purple thing had run off, faster than sheÔÇÖs thought possible.

And that was where the trouble had started.

So she couldnÔÇÖt offer to take this Beautifly with her, not that sheÔÇÖs want to try and up-root any Pok├®mon who was so experienced, confident and worldly to have made the choice to change itself twice on its own!

ÔÇÿRightÔǪsorryÔǪ We never really loose the flowers back home,ÔÇÖ Sam offers, her mind finally making the connection between the chill in the air and the lack of any vibrant greens in the forest which surrounds them.

ÔÇÿI never met anyone who could do this either...ÔÇÖ Sam admits, her thoughts subdued, and a little saddened.

ÔÇÿI could maybe find you fruit juice, like IÔÇÖd said?ÔÇÖ comes the offer a few moments later. ÔÇÿI could go do those chores first, so you wouldnÔÇÖt have to wait as longÔǪÔÇÖ

"I am Rae. Rae O'Hara," the girl answers... Hesitating a second before taking (and shaking) the hand. "And... What do you do at the arena, Mr. Lee ? Are you a... trainer ?"

She had nearly asked "janitor", but if he wasn't, he would maybe have taken it as an offense. Then she nods.

"Me, too, Mr. Lee. Me too."

Rae nods to Artemis and silently pats the pansear on it's shoulder, praising, before dropping down on her breast and crawling just a little nearer, gesturing her starter to do the same. The girl pants deeply and eyes to the pokemon in the clearing, She didn't dare to go any closer - She might disturb them and miss a unique show or even get them to attack her... She hoped there would still be time to befriend one, after the business was done... Or fight one if it was neccecary. But she'd prefer to befriend. She couldn't really relate to "beat the crap out of them, then enslave them into the team" - At least if they didn't attack first, like Albrecht had.

"Watch, Artemis...", she whispered, drawing the fire monkey a little closer.

"They have plants on their back, like the paras... But they don't seem to be controlled at all... Wow... They are cute..."

Then she goes silent, watching what is happening in awe... The girl slowly places some sweets in front of her (just in case she is able to offer a little gift, later on) and reaches out with her Arm, scanning each of the pokemon slowly... But ultimately just watching it. Damn. She should have bought a camera...

As Valent appears, Bennet notices the nasty burn scar on Valent's chest. But he doesn't seem too phased as he approaches Bennet, he smiles a goofy grin.

"Sear. Pansear." He replies to Bennet's questions.

ÔÇ£Well... I'm a trainer also. But I actually watch over the gym, take care of trainers that are injured... And I work as the janitor.ÔÇØ

As Rae lies there, Artemis right next to her, the pokemon move about the glade for a few moments.

Suddenly one of them stop, and lets out a few low grunts. Causing all the others to turn and circle it. Rae catches a few hints of sound, until the breeze changes direction and she can make out the distinct sound of the pokemon... Singing?

The song rises and falls, until reaching a high note, the pokemon continue to hum that note. The pokemon in the center begins to glow, its form growing larger as the bulb on its back splits open, reveling pink petals of a flower that has yet to bloom. As the light intensifies Rae has to turn away from it. When she looks back, the center pokemons glow is fading. Leaving a pokemon about a foot taller then the others, that's more blue then green.

Artemis looks back at Rae, "Pan." She whispers in her ear.

As the pokedex's glow lights up Rae's face, as it displays the information of the smaller pokemon, "Bulbasaur, the seed pokemon. Bulbasaur is often seen sleeping in the sunshine. The bulb on its back, which has been there since birth, absorbs the suns energy and grows larger.

Spheal looks at the slowly flapping Midnight and then claps his flippers together "SphealSphealSpheal!"

The Beautifly looks at her hopefully, an overwhelming sense of hope and joy flood Sam's mind, as the pokemon flaps once and lands on Sams head. Though she felt it land, it barely seems to add any weight to the young trainer.

If they reach the location without incident, she recalls Charcoal after crouching down to give him several scratches behind his ears and a gentle pat on his side, and points to the branches a few meters above. Raes mouth is standing open a little, her blue hair lying on her back and the floor like blue waves. One Hand is holding the grass on which she is lying as if the ground could suddenly be pulled away beyound her body. She nearly forgot to glance at the Dex, much to carried away by the strange and yet amazing ritual... She catches herself silently humming with the strange singing... And then, when the light becomes brighter and brighter, she nearly isn't able to hold herself, just not approaching more, because at the same time, the sight has her downright frozen in place...

First Artemis noise lets her pull herself together again... While she is still enthralled by what she has seen.

"Yes...", she whispers to her friend. "It is... So beautiful... Isn't it ?"

Only now Rachel remembers her pokedex, and reaches out to scan the now evolved pokemon, too... She wouldn't approach. It somehow seemed to her as if breaking the spell, doing a sacrilege... No. She would wait once she was absolutely sure, that whatever was going on, was over... While she now found the air to scan the pokemon a second time (To get nearer information, like Health and Gender...).
