Underslem complies, hands up.

As Slem moves towards the voice, he steps into the row the farmer is in and sees a portly human with a lantern at his feet and a crossbow held in his hands. A dog stands at his side.

He lowers the crossbow from pointing at you, and places a comforting hand on the dog's head.

"Lost you say? You didn't see any kids running around?"

Gomz gives a silent affirmation and tries to guesstimate the approximate location of the farmer, orienting himself in that direction, but otherwise being quiet for now.

((Only those who have Common in their languages on the statblock can understand this excange.))

"I saw at least a half dozen, but there's probably more? They weren't very big, but there was a bunch of them... they rolled my gourd out this way. If you're willing to help, I can repay you with a hot meal."

Slem can see the flattened stalks, the gourd was probably larger than 5 feet across.

Underslem licks its lips as it looks at the farmer,

"Yes! Yes, a hot meal is a good trade. Let us find these not big children."

With your assistance, the gourd farmer and his dog have no trouble following the tracks.

Underslem whispers.

"Oh no! Nothing so drastic as that, I just want my gourd back and for them to not come around pranking anymore!"

Slem hears a faint "teehee" ahead and to the side.

Underslem looks confused but it's attention is drawn to the teehee and it points and whispers,

"There!"

<Come this way now! Quietly, we have found the kids. They might be dangerous.>
