Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
It doesn't taste great, but now they have glowing teeth.
As you step through the next portal, hot, dry air washes over you, and sand shifts under your feet as you drop a few feet to land on the side of a sand dune.

BPG looks decidedly unhappy at this turn of affairs. Gomz is finding that hooves are not ideal for wading around in hot sand. <<Don't like this place!>>

There is some disturbed sand crossing a short ways away, but Underslem can't tell what caused it.

Underslem points it out for the others.

Gomz gives a doleful grunt and sneezes. The sand is tickling Gomz's nose.

Underslem walks over to the nearest disturbed sand. Anything to see?

It is grossly dry, but the heat is welcome.

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Whatever passed this way was of moderate size, or multiple smaller, but the wind has shifted the sand enough that any distinct footprints have been filled in.

The next portal opens up into a frozen waste. The firenewt turns right around and leaves.

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Wind whips about you as you step forth through yet another portal, clouds drifting in every direction. The portal has opened and deposited you on a flat stone surface, and as you look around, realize that it is either extremely high up, or hanging suspended in a vast expanse of sky. There is not sun, but the entire place is suffused with a blue tinged glow. You can see flying creatures winging past in the distance. There are other floating islands, though from the orientation and the movement of the clouds and the flyers, any sense of up and down is relative here.

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Gomz's little piggy brain is shorting out with the lack of orientation. He/she makes a loud squeal and flops straight down. <<Nolikenolikenolikenolikenolikenolikenolike!!>>

Re: Running the Monster Gauntlet: Escape (5e)
Gomz is tenaciously clinging to what with the shift of his perception seems to be a wall, but there's no floor beneath him, so hang on tight!
They seem to be alone, but haven't explored beyond the immediate portal vicinity. Could probably flag down some of the flying things if you want to try to tussle with them.
