Damn... No chance to roll a miracle 20 then! All right, I'll sit tight until one of the clerics decides to help :P

But also no chance to roll that natural 1 either!

If I rolled a 1, maybe someone would help Kryz sooner :D

We wouldn't know IC that you rolled a 1, unless it was signified by a spurt of blood!

I thought that was the universal identifier that a 1 had been rolled, under basically any circumstance

For all these characters seem to know about dragonborn that kind of bleeding is normal!

Wouldn't want to presume in Sam's game! :D

Think a natural 1 was involved in the last dead dragonborn too... :(

So, ducking behind the cover of the cart does give a benefit, or not, when getting shot at by a goblin with a short bow?

Also, why is Saca at -5/?? ? Gathering from the sheet, she got 11 HP originally and that last arrow shot did 6 damage, so she still should have 5 left over.

Who was the last dead dragon born (or from which game)?

And yay for fumbling goblin killing off his compadre (nothing I would 'yay' for in the comic, mind you. ;) )

I got one in M0rts game a couple of weeks ago and it ended the life of my fun barbarian :( they're dangerous things!

PS Sam probably didn't know Saca's full HP, so the -5 just signifies you're 5 under full. At least that's my guess :)

That's exactly what I meant.

Saca's full health is 11, so she should have 5 hp left.

But she took 6 damage, not 5. ^^

Since I do not know how long reloading takes, I did a conditional action. Also, since taking out your shield is allegedly an action, she can't cast/attack the same round, is that correct?

Technically, yes (in this case). You get one action per turn, so if a spell costs an action to cast, then that's your action over. If it costs a reaction or bonus action, you could take a different action as well (eg strapping on a shield).

Probably shouldn't mention this but Saca's shield of faith is concentration, so when she got hit she would have needed to roll a constitution saving throw to maintain that +2. She needs to beat a 10 or else her concentration is broken and the spell fizzles.

I see I mixed up discussion of shield of faith here with in game casting!

Yeah, I didn't "waste" a spell on doing shield of faith in game (yet), I was just talking about the "bonus action" duration of it, because I wanted to know about it in general. But it's good to know what could happen with Saca's spells when/if she gets hit and what it depends on whether or not she can keep them up, so thanks for that. :)

An additional note on concentration is that you can only concentrate on one spell at a time, so when choosing your spells, you want a good mix.

I'm away on a weekend trip, so I (have been and) won't be making many posts atm.

It looks like most of you are wanting to go chase down the goblins, but one quick clarification, just in case it affects anything.

Phandelver is about half a day away. If you keep pace, you could get tjeee before nightfall. So no risk of the goblins tracking you down and killing you in your sleep

Actually, I would rather deliver the cart first, and (possibly) later on track down the goblins. But maybe Saca/someone else could first try to find a spot that would be easy to find again, so she/they could follow the trail later?

I mean, yes Lewis is only able to follow the last one NOW, but perhaps he can guide us to wherever the goblin ran later on, too?

Never mind, in the IC thread everyone seems to be on board with delivering the cart first, anyways. I only read that after posting here, though. o:)

Calrick is just saying that making a decision now is making a decision without all available information. If Lewis returns and says that they are currently using the dwarves for archery practice outside their camp, that would certainly change priorities.

Just a warning guys, I'm moving this week, so updates will probably slow down a bit until things calm down on my end. I'll do my best to update as much as I can, but I wouldn't expect more than a small one or two until thursday or friday.

Thanks for the heads-up, Sam and GL with the move. May nothing irreplacable break or get lost of be forgotten/left behind. :)
