athletics: 1D20+3 = [20]+3 = 23

When Balin's turn comes, he blithely swings up the rope, giving a passable imitation of an orangutan.

Both Cal and Balin are able to climb up the rope, no problem.

Once up, they see there are two holes in the cave on either side. The right side of the bridge is where the now dead goblin ran to right before the water came down. You don't have a great of the other side, but you do see flickering flames. Suggesting that some people are there.

(Still waiting on rolls/actions from Saca and Kryz, but I'll give them some time. My updates have been sporadic enough that I can't blame them for only checking once or twice a month)

Cal will head towards the non flickering with fire tunnel, sending Lewis hopping along just in front of him, with instructions to let Cal know if it sounds like anyone is down there.

Lewis: Perception: 2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [15, 11]+3 = 18

((Thinks has been away from forum for a while, but I talked to her last week and she hopes to be able to return more regularly soon.))

Aimee follows Cal brain asking,

<What does Lewis see! Is it the room Kryz saw? Should I blast something?!!!>

Cal looks at her and holds her arm, his eyes rolling back. "Hold on..."

((He's using his own senses to navigate across the bridge!))

Aimee will hold him distractedly, but won't let him fall to his death. Not until he answers her anyhow.

Balin shakes his head and accompanies the two down the path, deciding that they need someone to watch over them.

Saca makes her way up the rope, or at least tries to.

Athletics roll: 1D20+2 = [13]+2 = 15

Saca and Kryz both manage to shimmy up the rope onto the bridge. The other three seem to be huddled around the right side of the bridge, waiting for Lewis to return.

Lewis quietly flies into the room. He sees some small torches on the far wall and two areas where the river had been dammed. One is now empty, and two goblins are furiously working on the rocks holding the second pool back. As Lewis is looking at them, the rocks break free and the pooled water rushes down, creating another wave of water that rushes harmlessly underneath the party. On the opposite side of the pools, there is a human-sized hole in the cave, acting as a doorway. Another goblin, bringing this room's total to 3, acts as a sentry, standing lookout to warn the occupants of the other room. Lewis sees nothing else of interest in this room at the moment.

You can't be 100% sure, but if the architecture of the cave makes sense, the room that the goblin is acting as a lookout for is the one with the Bugbear that Kryz saw earlier.

Cal whispers what Lewis sees to Aimee, and has his feathered friend find a perch far from the goblins if he can, if not, return to him on the bridge.

Aimee says to those around her,

"So, off to get those three goblins or off to the big room! What do you all want to do? I'd love a little break if we want go to the big room! I'm famished!"

"I think we could do with a break, but on the other hand the two captives might still need us to hurry up. If they are still alive, mind you." Saca whispers back. Just in case, she readies her crossbow and keeps an eye out for any approaching hostiles.
