Ian and Carrie

Pulling out a Pokeball, Ian has very little trouble catching the sleeping, badly injured clam.

Ian has caught a Lv30 Brave Male Clamperl with Sturdy!

Hugh

The Golett watch as Hugh and Callisto discuss the situation - they seem to have trouble following the more complex concepts of what they're saying, but the leader at least appears to understand what Hugh's intentions are. Even if it's knowledge of the situation does seem rather...limited......
"This is safe, right? And Callisto attempting to heal it won't mess with what you're trying to do?"
<Dunno.>

Regardless, it doesn't seem like the Golett has any better ideas on what to do. So, after a little preperation, Callisto channels some healing energy into the stone.....

And is immediately blasted backwards by a powerful explosion of darkness and ghostly energy, taking 45(62) damage and slumping into unconsciousness against the far wall! Hugh isn't standing close enough to get hurt, but the force is still enough to knock him off his feet. Wincing, he glances up as the aura of almost solid darkness begins to disperse, soon getting a clear look at the hovering stone....and the cloud of spirit energy orbiting it, a ghostly face glaring down at him. He may have only seen one once before, but he recognizes what he's looking at pretty quickly - a Spiritomb.

What's more, to make matters even worse, it doesn't seem to be alone. Orbiting around the spirit is three more ghosts, each one identical to the last with purple gaseous bodies and clawed, floating hands. They appear to be connected to the Spiritomb somehow as well, with twisting tendrils of dark energy snaking between the ghostly forms, making the Spiritomb look like some kind of three-armed monster.

A three-armed monster that's looking down at Hugh with very malicious intent written across its face....

Hugh (10)

Callisto (16), KO
3 Unknown Ghosts (12)
Spiritomb (2)

Mace

Darting forward, Shimmy scratches the Carbink, but barely gets past its tough defenses. Fortunately it's still struggling with the Paralysis, as the Poison slowly eats away at it.

Field: Stealth Rocks [3]

Henry (18), 31/74Hp, Recalled
Arrow (15), KO
Solrock (7), KO
Lunatone (7), [51%], Burned, Recalled
Biggs (7), KO
Dwebble (6), KO
Annie (4), KO
Shimmy (3), 4/58Hp
Carbink (2/5), [22%], Paralyzed 11

Zyph

"Heh. You know, this is actually the second Gardevoir I've seen today. So much for them being rare."

Shooting forward like a rocket, the Tirtouga slams into Curie before she can get off her attack, doing 61(46) damage. Regaining her composure, she tries to hit back with a flurry of leaves, but finds her attack blocked by the creature's annoyingly tough Protective shell.

Field: Stealth Rocks [2]

Bill (22), KO
D'Lune (16), 52/84Hp
Wendy (16), KO
Toad (15)
Curie (14), 36/82Hp
Geol (14), KO
Anorith (13), KO
Omanyte (10), KO
Bellerophon (7), KO
Tirtouga (2), Slightly Injured, +1 All Stats
Stunfisk (1), KO

Sam

Slithering up to the Cubone, Draco Wraps it up with his tail and squeezes, leaving it barely conscious. But then it hits back, slamming into Draco with its head for 30(25) damage and knocking him out!

Drilbur (15), KO
Gligar (15), KO
Nero (14), KO
Alexander (12), 36/63Hp, Recalled
Moose (11), Recalled
Rex (9), Recalled
Draco (9), KO
Cubone (4), Very Badly Injured
Baltoy (4), KO
Golett (4), KO
Trapinch (1), KO
Kate (1), KO

Sal

Caeser tries to Bite the Cubone, but it manages to evade the hit - following which it slams it's bone down on him with frightening accuracy, doing 64(52) damage and squashing the poor bug into the sand.

Randy (15), KO
Gligar (15), KO
Drilbur (15), KO
Brooke (14), KO
Caesar (12), KO
Audree (11), KO
Lee (8), Recalled
Dennis (8), KO
Baltoy (4), KO
Cubone (2)
Trapinch (1), KO

Danica

The Delcatty tries the whole attraction thing again as Karis charges at it, this time successfully wooing her! Sadly, she's moving to quickly to stop and ends up plowing into the cat regardless, trampling it under her heavy feet.

It's replacement is a Solrock, which floats above Karis at about 5m and taunts her for her lack of ranged attacks.

Delcatty (12), KO
Solrock (7), ^5m
Karis (5), 81/83Hp, +2DEF, -2ATK

For just a moment Hugh staggers back his eyes widened at the display- But it isn't before long he shoots to action, hastily doing all he can in the little span of time he has before they'd strike- Quickly throwing down two pokeballs in front of him as he backs towards Callisto, as Kalai and Archimedes materializes in front of him- The large scorpion like creature sizing up the foe in front of it and Archimedes inspecting it's foe as Hugh takes stance in front of Callisto- Quickly scanning one of the strange ghosts.

"Alright Kalai- Try and take out one of the smaller ghosts with a night slash!"

Ian and Carrie

As Ian checks over his injuries, Carrie unreels the line and sends it back into the cold ocean waters. And - assuming she tosses back the Magikarp and Tentacools wish get fished up - she eventually pulls a strange blue armoured shrimp thing up onto the deck. Flexing its one huge claw, the Pokemon glares at them angrily, preparing to show these fools who's boss.

Carrie (12)
Ian (12), 111/136Hp

Finn (16)
Hobo (14)
Armoured Shrimp (4), +2ATK

Hugh

Hastily pulling out a couple of Pokeballs, Hugh sends out Kalai and Archimedes to protect him and Callisto from the aggressive ghosts. And as the Skarmory takes up a defensive stance and boosts his Agility, the scorpion leaps in and slashes through one of the Haunters, taking it out in one shot! The ghost doesn't go quietly though, lashing out with a Sucker Punch for 46(13) damage as it goes down. And then its friends join in, with one Hypnotizing Archie while the other catches both Kalai and Hugh in a Confuse Ray.

Then it's the Spiritomb's turn - sending out a wave of ghostly energy that not only hits Kalai, Archie, and Hugh for 34(9), 34(18), and 34(24) damage respectively, but also buffs itself and the two conscious Haunters!

Hugh (10), 92/116Hp, Confused

Kalai (18), 60/82Hp, Confused
Callisto (16), KO
Archie (14), 61/79Hp, +2SPD, Asleep 16
3 Haunter (12), #1 [KO], +1 All Stats
Spiritomb (2), +1 All Stats

Mace

As Shimmy backs up, the Carbink tries to deal with it's Status problems - but while it does manage to deal with the Paralysis, the Poison is still an issue.

Carbink (5), [13%], Poisoned
Annie (4), KO
Shimmy (3), 4/58Hp

Zyph

Charging up with psychic energy, Curie blasts the Tirtouga backwards, badly injuring it. But then the turtle sends a gigantic wave of water crashing down on her head, hitting for 107(85) damage!

Moose tries to lick the Cubone, but it slides out of the way of her tongue, smacking her in the face with its bone club for 50(42) damage.

Cubone (4), Very Badly Injured
Baltoy (4), KO
Golett (4), KO

As Kettenstein comes out and sets up some Stealth Rocks, the Solrock traps her in a 29(9) damage Fire Spin, which starts burning away for 12 damage.

As the wave crashes down, it's not immediately apparent what the aftermath is. Curie is nowhere to be seen beneath the waves. But before anyone can celebrate, the Tirtouga suddenly finds its mind wracked by a sensory overload.

'Tsk. Is that the best you can do?' Curie's lofty telepathic voice comes across, the Gardevoir standing 10 meters behind the Tirtouga with a wicked smirk on her face.

--Teleport Intercept (DC7): 8 to-activate, 20 meter range, Curie takes no damage from attack.
--Confusion (AC2): 10 to-hit, 46 damage special psychic

"Just get closer to him, Shim. Hit him with one of your statuses again."

With the Carbink now outspeeding Shimmy once again, the Parasect waits to see how the Carbink will act before getting as close as he can and attempting to drop either a Poisonpowder or a Stun Spore on it, depending on if it tries and succeeds in curing its Poison.

Poisonpowder or Stun Spore on Carbink: 1D20 = [8] = 8

Ian and Carrie

As Carrie releases Princess and Finn completely whiffs his attack, Hobo yawns at the Clauncher, making it very drowsy. But before it falls asleep, it manages to fire off a 42(32) damage blast of Bubbles at the Vigoroth, knocking him out!

Hugh

While Hugh has little trouble breaking out of the confusion, his 'mons aren't as lucky, with Kalai smacking himself in the face while Archie snoozes. He takes advantage of this by completely failing to Hypnotize anything, before sending Bubbles out into the fray. Charging forward, he slams into the nearest ghost, doing pretty heavy damage to it - but then the spirit's friend Hypnotizes her, as the injured one lashes out with a fist of shadows for 32(21) damage.

Then the Spiritomb moves in, enveloping Bubbles in a cloud of ghastly energy and draining her for 52(42) damage! However the Spiritomb isn't the one that gets healed by the attack - instead, the drained energy appears to travel down one of the ghostly tendrils and into the unconscious Haunter, healing it back to consciousness!

Bubbles (19), 21/84Hp, Asleep 16
Kalai (18), 52/82Hp, Confused

One final Lick proves to be enough to finish off the Cubone, which slumps to the ground unconscious!

Exp: 4200xp

"Congratulations! Your team's pretty strong - you've obviously trained them well. Nice work!"

Sal

Lee drains the Cubone for moderate damage, but then it smacks him across the face with its bone, doing a whopping 50(39) damage!

Tossing a rock skyward, Kettenstein manages to knock the Solrock down a couple of notches, doing minor damage in the process. It also triggers a Stealth Rock, which smacks it in the face for a little extra pain. She then takes 12 damage from the flaming trap, as the no-longer floating rock misses a Psywave.

As Zyphirim scans his final opponent, Curie's eyes begin to glow. And alarmingly, she then seems to speed up in the water, seeming to mimic the dome-shelled creature; raising her hand toward the dome-shelled creature, Curie then fires off a salvo of magical leaves, punching through the creature's weak points in its armor.

Curie
--Affirmation: Curie gains 10 Temporary HP.
--Trace: Curie gains Swift Swim (and by extension, +4 SPD CS).
--Magical Leaf (Autohit): 42 damage special grass
