Bill shows no quarter to the toad, although how depends on how it acts; if it moves away, Bill fires another of his uncanny exploding golden coins at the toad with remarkable accuracy, striking it dead on. Otherwise, he utilizes his unerring claws to strike a powerful blow across the toad's midsection.

Either way, shortly after Bill does this, a brutal psychic force tears through the arena and the Seismitoad*, leaving a deep gouge in the stream bed and smashing the rather unfortunate Seismitoad against a wall.

Bill Conditional: [rolls]
--IF the Seismitoad moves out of melee, Pay Day (AC1): 18 to-hit, 48 damage physical normal, $140 Meowth Coins created
--ELSE Faint Attack (Autohit): 48 damage physical dark
Future Sight: Seismitoad takes 102 Damage Special Psychic at end of round.

*I did scan this earlier, and having watched Mortimer's battle with it, I know it's a Seismitoad.

Carefully, Hugh approaches the strange object- Crouching down, he takes as good a look as he can from it on the ground- Before carefully lifting it up with his telekinesis- Just in case it's dangerous- As he rotates the object around in front of him, examining it and trying to figure out what it's purpose is- As Callisto peers over his shoulder as he does so.

1d20+7=11 (bad roll, but at least the modifier makes it average... :roll:)

Then, barring that he finds out what it does or has a suspicion it may be malevolent, he turns to Callisto.

"Could you hold this for a moment and say if you feel anything different?"

"Certainly. I doubt it'll do something to warrant this caution anyways..." She says- Taking her float stone and passing it to Hugh, before telekinetically grabbing the stone.

Now at a disadvantageous position, Shimmy waits for the Carbink to make a move, if it can. Then, he darts in and tosses an all-encompassing Spore attack at the twitchy Carbink, trying to get some openings on it and to let the Paralysis sink in deeper.

"Nice work Dennis." Sal says slightly put out having not knocked out the baltoy. After a brief pause, "Ok Caesar. You got this, he's already hurt!"

As the small scorpion appears he looks around taking in the new surroundings as quickly as possible, before settling his gaze on the baltoy. "Pin missile it."

Whipping back Caesar launches a group of small needles into the air, only to have them land directly below the baltoy.

Pin missile: 1D20 = [2] = 2
1D6+1+14 = [6]+1+14 = 21

Carrie and Ian

Deciding to take things into her own hands, Carrie runs over and punches the Clamperl, doing literally no damage whatsoever as her fist just bounces harmlessly off of its thick shell. However, she at least manages to get its attention away from Hobo, who positions himself off to the side so he can Yawn at it without catching anyone else. Angry at being punched, the pearl creature tries to clamp down on her with its shell. But then Ian darts in the way at the last second, taking the brunt of the critical 51(41) damage attack, following which the clam dozes off. Despite still being attached to Ian's foot...

Hugh

With the Golett's permission, Hugh walks over and takes a closer look at the odd stone. But even lifting it up with his telekinesis, he can't figure out anything other than what he can see - it's a little bigger than palm-sized, made of a single piece of smooth, obsidian-like stone, and is so dark it seems to absorb the meager amount of light that has made it into the cavern. When he can't figure out what it is, he passes it to Callisto - but other than an almost imperceptible drop in air temperature, she doesn't notice anything particularly interesting either. By all accounts it seems to just be a weird, but otherwise ordinary rock.

Seeing that they're having trouble, the leader Golett starts gesturing with its hands and making noises which Callisto quickly translates for Hugh. However, the Golett's mastery of the universal Pokemon language seems to be.....lacking, to say the least.

<Power. Spirits. Strength.>

Mace

Shimmy waits to see what the Carbink will do, and observes it struggling with the paralysis. Thankfully, it doesn't manage to overcome the status effect as easily as it did the poison (though only barely...), allowing Shimmy to dart in a put it to sleep with some more spores before it can react.

Only for it to wake up again instantly, ignore the paralysis, and toss some rocks at Shimmy that only just miss his head!

Thankfully, Bill is soon avenged by the equally damaging wave of psychic energy which sends the Seismetoad crashing into the cavern wall right next to Zyph's opponent.

"....well then. Think we'll call that one a draw...."

Recalling the unconscious frog, he swaps in a blue stone-shelled turtle thing.

D'Lune darts forward, but when she attempts to bite down on the turtle, her fangs wind up glancing off of it.

Hugh says- Taking the stone from Callisto to hold it in his own hand as he passes the float stone back to Callisto- Now turning the strange pyramid as he turns it over in his hand, starting to consider the possibilities. Thinking out loud, he watches the golett for any type of reaction.

"Are you saying that this is an item that strengthens spirits as yourself? Couldn't be of course... Why'd you need my help otherwise?" he says, offering a small smirk to the ghosts as he continues to inspect. "Unless you can't use it of course, and that's what you need help with...?"

"Alternatives are... Are you saying there's a spirit inside? And if so, what do you want to do with it? Release it..?"

Further contemplating his options, he's mostly unknowingly forming something else in the hand he holds the strange artifact in- As dream mist starts to solidify, soon taking proper shape in the form of... A magnifying glass?

Great job, subconcious.

(Haven't had much of a chance to use materialze yet, so why the hell not. Even if it turns out to be mostly fluff. :P)

Materialize (int?): 1d20+7=20

Now, if only I had had manipulate, this could have been interesting... :roll: I could have changed it's color to ominous pink! :lol:

"Caesar I need you to stay in there for another go!" With that Sal pulls out a potion to apply on the little bug. Applying it as best he can for a psycic wound he heals Caesar for a large portion of his missing health.

Potion on Caesar: 2D12+10+20 = [2, 9]+10+20 = 41

Next turn:

If Caesar survive the hit, "Ok now try another pin missile!"

Pin missile: 1D20 = [15] = 15

As the Clamperl continues to clamp down on Ian's leg for 2 damage, despite being fast asleep, Ian blasts it for moderate damage. Carrie then tries to catch the thing, but her ball goes wide - following which Finn badly injures it with a Swift attack.

As Hugh takes the rock from Callisto and addresses the Golett, he feels himself shudder involuntarily. The stone is cold - not just cool like an ordinary rock, but actively freezing, as if it's absorbing the heat from his body. He can even feel his fingers becoming numb the longer he holds it.

"Are you saying that this is an item that strengthens spirits as yourself? Couldn't be of course... Why'd you need my help otherwise?"
"Unless you can't use it of course, and that's what you need help with...?"

Unfortunately for him, the Golett's answer to Hugh's questions, while direct, isn't exactly very clear.

As the Tirtouga gets Stealth Rocked in the face for a little damage, D'Lune leaps in for a bite....and misses completely, despite Zyph's tactical help. Following which the turtle has little trouble backed up 8m and blasting her with a stream of rocks, which not only hit for 54(42) damage, but also seem to feedback and empower the turtle that sent them flying.

Zyphirim sighs. "You need to learn some other ranged attacks, D'Lune," he comments, before returning the Absol. He then sends Curie out into the water. "Curie, two left. D'Lune's getting kited by this one, so take it out."

'Right. And I trust there shall be a good explanation for why I am standing in what appears to be a river later.' Curie says as she raises a hand toward the Tirtouga, magical leaves bursting forth and striking with unerring accuracy at the turtle.

As the stone seems to start burning, Hugh slowly puts it down again- As he slowly seems to start figuring out the situation.

"Hmm... If there's a spirit trapped in there, it seems that it's deprived of energy... Judging by how it seems to be taking my own."

"...Callisto. If this thing is missing life energy... Maybe you could try healing it, to replenish it?"


"...And that would be a good idea how?"

"Well... I doubt these little golett dudes are malevolent- So I doubt this is something that'd be dangerous. Besides... You can take what you give, can't you?" he mentally replies, still taking a look at the golett as he asks- Both to make sure that he wouldn't screw up by doing this, and to verify it's safety to an extent- "This is safe, right? And Callisto attempting to heal it won't mess with what you're trying to do?"

Barring any reluctance from the golett, he steps back as he allows Callisto to concentrate, prepping an ether- As she makes a healing wish for the stone, imbueing it with life energy...

Since the Carbink was so kind as to fall to the ground after its Paralysis, Shimmy actually goes on the offensive using his new move! The Parasect draws in its claws and rubs them under the lip of its big mushroom to coat them in poisonous spores, and then he charges forward and through the Carbink with a Cross Poison!

Cross Poison on Carbink: 1D20 = [12] = 12
3D8+10+15 = [5, 2, 2]+10+15 = 34


...For minor damage, admittedly, but at least it's neutrally effective!

The skorupi rushes forward snapping his mandibles. Sadly he still doesn't seem to have a handle on this whole hitting thing yet...
