Ves lurks in the doorway and keeps an eye out for anything in the corridors.

Ves' headache isn't helped by the regular whooshing sound of what she now knows is a vortex-thing. It also makes it hard to hear much of anything standing there with the door open.

Looking up and down the short corridor she doesn't see much new but glancing back at the vortex it appears to have shrunk... No, that's not right. Looking a bit longer she decides that the colors have just been compressed to the middle of it for whatever reason.

Moving past the room they're in, Lurn moves to the next corner along the hallway (west), and peers around the corner.

Joe will search the door behind Lurm for traps, after he moves out of the way. Assuming no traps, she tries to open the door. Invest: 1D20+4 = [14]+4 = 18

Jaq will leave the bedroom, and will close the door after him. He will then close the door that leads to the 'vortex'. After that he will follow Joe and explore whatever room she opens. "This place is a lot bigger than I expected." he comments.

Joe walks past Lurn and examines the door behind him. It looks like the other doors they've seen, not as heavy as the one used on the vortex room and not locked. There doesn't appear to any traps and she pushes it open. Inside she and Jaq spot a haphazard stack/pile of filled bottles just to the east of the door. Jaq can make out another stack of bottles further into the room place with as much care as the first.

Joe steps in and carefully searches the area for any traps and anything useful.

Joe steps into what appears to be a storage room. Much like the bedroom just searched this room is a mess. There are piles of bottles filled with who knows what mixed with empty ones all over the floor. A couple of shelves are against the north wall that are filled with bottles, some have labels but those facing Joe are smeared beyond legibility.

Joe doesn't see anything trapped and wonders idly how one would manage to not set a trap off in this chaos should they bother to set one.

Jaq will follow Joe into the room to take a good look what is inside, even though she says it is just a storage room. He will go to the further group of bottles and see if he can read any of the labels.

"Overall, this stuff is all very expensive looking, all the bottles and concoctions. but none of it really easily transported. But all the differently sized, and colored glass bottles...with nice caps..." He is not really talking to Joe, just talking to himself, but he is obviously liking unique glass bottles for some reason. He will then take a look in the dresser drawers to see if anything looks intriguing.

Jaq follows Joe into the room and is impressed by the wide assortment of bottles. A clear bottle with a reddish thick fluid right at his eye level is labelled "Hea....ion" where the middle of the label has been covered with something black. It is between a half dozen half full or empty bottles of various sizes and colors. There are a few other bottles with labels that would need require Jaq (or Joe) to move other bottles to check if they are legible.

His assessment of the bottles being valuable, generally in this world, is correct. There is a small fortune worth of glass work in this room.

((No drawers, just overstuffed shelves. Give me an investigation roll if you are looking for/at something specific. Just looking for bottles with labels isn't anything requires a roll.))

He will move bottles around so that he can possibly find bottles with fully legible labels. And while he does that, he will specifically look for anything that screams out at him, poisonous.

No, Jaq is not going to take any bottles at this point unless he can identify what it is and deems it useful.

(it appears the amazing rolls of early on in the game, have now abandoned us all!)

((Well Lurn has been solidly terrible at least))

As Lurn enters the room he has just enough time to find a few bottles to look at when Jaq starts moving bottles around. Almost immediately the shelf makes a cracking noise and the back half begins to rise. Dozens of bottles begin falling and before Jaq can do anything the entire thing begins tipping over and sending a cascade of glass around and both Jaq and Joe. Most strike harmlessly but a few hit hard and one or two explode violently on striking the ground. The colorful pieces of glass spray and slice the hapless pair.

Falling bottles bludgeoning and piercing: 1D4 = [1] = 1
1D4 = [4] = 4


((So 5 total damage!))

"Oh, spoons!" Jaq jumps back but not fast enough.
He sighs and then looks at the shelf. Was this caused purposefully from a trap?

If so, now that the shelf has moved, he looks to see if it was hiding anything else that could not be seen before.
