Re: Tests and Trials
"Ah, that is interesting. I was thinking of my father earlier, so the magic picked up on that. This could have interesting uses if we needed to keep identities hidden. You are not to welcome in a certain city Ves, it could be helpful there. And I can see a few other uses for it. Anyone in particular care to wear it right now? It's not helpful in a fight, but when we are back in civilization...hmmm."
Jaq can see some uses for it, but not overly needing it. He'd probably be inclined to sell it and get the gold to divvy, unless, of course, someone really wants it as theirs.

Jaq cannot help but grin. "It makes you look like whoever you want it to look like, I think you just need to concentrate on a person and then you look like them. Yeah, if it ONLY make people look like my dad it would have limited used. Could still be good for a few pranks."

Jaq smiles broader “I’ll try. There may be a limit of how or when I can with the magic. But it’d be good to know how it works.” He thinks of Kroshav and tries to change.

Nothing happens, Jaq continues to look like his father with a big grin.

Jolly, now calmed, sits back and finishes packing saying,
"Ya stuck looking like ya dad forever now? That'll be fun."
He chuckles humorlessly as he rises and gets his shield and sword to train with Kroshav.

Re: Tests and Trials
Joe gives Jaq a piraty grin before studying her books while Kroshav and Jolly spar (along with Lurn?). Kroshav notes that Jolly has improved with the sword to the point where he is more likely to hurt an enemy with it than himself and another week or so should get him up to middling proficiency. The walking and training also have helped burn off his gut and build some muscle. For all that he seems like he is just going through the motions, whatever was pushing him forward having left him.
Once training wraps up the party moves back into the valley, after Ves puts out the fire properly. Things are largely unchanged from the previous evening, the area is still quiet and the grass and vines nearest the ruins look withered. Lurn, Ves and Jaq do notice that, unlike the day before, there are a couple of birds darting overhead catching the morning flying insects above the ruins.
The piles of cremated bones have long since cooled as they pass and head towards the stairs into the ruin's dark cellar. Nothing rushes up at the party and nothing seems to be making noise.
Jolly gives the spot where the pool had been a long look.
Jaq still looks like his dad.

Hmm, yeah, Lurn would participate in the training. No reason for him not to.
"It seems that life is slowly returning to this place. We had best ensure there are no creatures such as the shadows remaining. If such things get loose they could cause a lot of damage."

"Ah, and we left those books behind, too. We can't allow those foul things to remain unattended, even if we don't destroy them." Heading for the stairs down, Lurn casts Light on his shield.

The party descends the stairs and moves slowly down the secret hallway. Nothing has been disturbed in the two first rooms nor the two second.
