Dlover, Lurn would be aware that elves are more accepting of firbolg than most other groups.

That's convenient, 'cause he's got no more disguising left until he sleeps for a few hours. XD
My game:
Hunters of Letrua; Character list
Also Player / Monster stats, skill lists.
My characters:
Tugs Tails, the goblin that was sort of a trapper and wears a bear's tail at his neck, for some reason - Lair of the Mountain King (Run by Thinks)
Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
I picture the group as some sort of anime/manga 'perfectly ordinary' people that come to the fence. Totally not suspect.

Burns, where was Joe's accent from? Is it an affectation or honest to goodness something she picked up somewhere?

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
She picked some of her accent from the southren lands and some of it from sailors when she breifly sailed (probably a couple years?) and living close to the docks. Maybe a slight affliction so she'd be a bit more like her sailor, treasure hunting idols.

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
You don't get more south than the Duchy! But if she is from the Protectorate there'd be a good number of boats and sailors going north for trade. There are even pirates, because if there is sea trade there are pirates!
How old is Joe?

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
Most likely she'd get on a ship from the traders, and mostly heard tall tales of pirates.
Probably middle age for a halfling, so around 50-60ish?
Also those guards are total butthats.

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
So it's your call as DM, but strictly all that find familiar requires is an unoccupied space, it doesn't state that line of sight is needed to resummon it.
Personally I would allow it, but if there was another creature in the unseen area, I'd probably roll to work out if the resummon simply failed or if the familiar zapped in right next to a monster and caused chaos, since the familiar is being sent out blindly.
Like I say though, this is your house and you set the rulings

I think I will try to keep it in line with what I allow in my RL game, too much work to track two sets of rules.

Thank you! I painted it myself. I've been painting a lot recently for a craft fair at work.

Flanking in this game is a simple -2 AC, no matter how flanked a creature is.

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
I believe rodgeir has already mentioned this, but the DM can ask for any skill combination as appropriate. Intimidation using STR as the base modifier is actually an example they give in the core books, but they've added a lot more recently. I think tying knots is an example where INT + sleight of hand (rather than the core DEX) could be used.
Regardless, the idea is that you can do whatever the dm says you can do the skills rolls are not set in stone.

Re: Tests and Trials OOC
That encounter was much closer than I expected. I ran a nearly identical encounter for my RL group that only had three members and no healer and they destroyed it. The rolls were not with you!

Hints have been dropped at other times but here I am trying to give everyone the chance to do what they'd like without feeling like I am pushing one way or another.thinkslogically wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 1:58 pm ((sure, I'm just not certain what Ves would want to interact with. She's more interested in finding people who need help, or who might need info, and right now, that means going to the barracks.

Taking the same road three times does mean it's less description for me!
