Well, it's probable that our poetic killer frequents the haiku thread, but that doesn't narrow the possibilities enough, as Wolfie, Jibjib, and Lunix are all alive and have all posted in that thread.

Starting off by voting for Lunix. Her? avatar comes from that comic, and alot of the phrases from the poems could apply to her avatar. It could all just be herrings, but I've got nothing better to go on.

I'd have to believe at this point the killer is either Lunix or Jib.

Lunix - He is currently sporting an avatar in the style of the order of the stick. He is also a relatively new player which could be why the kills are poem style instead of story style. It could also point to why the killer had sense to take out older players so as to not leave himself as the only new player alive.

Jib - He was quick to note the order stick comment. That kind of comment usually takes a little bit longer to show up. It could be easily Jib pointing out a herring because he realizes he just needs to survive one more round. Another point against him is that Wolfie believed he was the killer. Once she is dead, unless she's a duck, she is innocent and I trust her intuition on these things as she is the only person playing who has knowledge of behind the scenes that rivals my own. In addition to that Jib was the killer back in Round 75 so the past killer references could hold against him. Also the stick comment could apply to the host of the round in which Job was a killer as it was Clarkson and he had an OotS style avatar too.

Loki - Small chance against Loki as there is a bit of evidence against him too. Mainly being that Wolfie and he voted against me twice in a row together. Normally it wouldn't be damning but I think Wolfie was trying to pull a detective vibe in saying that she knew it was Jib and couldn't say why. At this point for someone who hasn't played as many rounds as me and her it could be caught as a detective thing though in many rounds past it has been used by duckies and killers as a way to waste a vote.

Looking over all the evidence I have compiled here I hope that the innocents will rally against the killer with me and I hope my thinkings are correct. When it gets down to four people it is extremely easy for the killer to swing the vote.

As the announcer's voice rang out over the ruins of the Radiant citadel, the Vengeful Spirit at last allowed itself a small smile of satisfaction. That last fight had been uncomfortably close, but a timely intervention had allowed for a narrow victory over the stone golem, Jibjib, with mop-up on the Chaos Knight that called itself Loki as a bonus. The Spirit considered for a moment, then frowned.

No loose ends. Right.

With a wave of the Spirit's enchanted staff, the odd creature that had aided it was sent flying into the heart of the remaining Radiant defenses. There, it would meet a swift death, and the promise of revenge.

"... Ouch. Now that was cold."

"Nobody asked you."

As Wolfie and Dlover suspected, this one referenced the previous round, where (though not actually the Detective) I had seized on a clue that might not have been there and made a last-ditch effort to lynch Davecom, the killer that round. I was lynched for my efforts, with Davecom leading the charge. The big hint, intentionally or no, was reinforced by lingrem:

Find this Vengeful Spirit for me, please!

Googling the phrase "Vengeful Spirit" gives this wiki page as the top result, revealing that VS is a hero in DotA and its sequel, DotA 2. At the time the round started, Bob and I were the only ones to have mentioned DotA by name on this forum, and Bob didn't know what it was at the time.

Most everyone picked up on the various mentions of predator-like ways of making the kill. Such also applies to my Tiamat avatar -- though not directly pictured here, her DnD statblocks (at least) typically assume she's got wings, claws, and all that other dragon-y evilness. The last five lines were meant to indicate that Davecom's train of thought was "right track, wrong station" with regards to the (unintentional) dragon references in the previous kill.

So, yeah, this was a kinda weak one. I tried to make up for it with the next two ...

The haiku in this one were a small callback to Dlover's comment about the haiku thread on page 1. The big hint, however, was that this one was an acrostic of sorts: taking the first letter of each line, from end to start, gives the phrase "DOTA BUFF COM PLA YERS." Adding in the numbers and punctuation that were originally forum-background-seafoam-green (the numbers were also backwards), we get dotabuff.com/players/33354204 -- my player profile for DotA 2. Scrolling down or clicking over to the Matches tab reveals my most recent PvP game was as Vengeful Spirit.

Jib hit the nail on the head with this one. There were two more OotS book titles referenced in the last stanza -- the first line had "War and XPs," the second had "No Cure for the Paladin Blues." The third stanza also alludes to the aftermath of V's Familicide: Tiamat demands repayment in the form of 5 good dragons for every black that V killed. (The round-ending kill made 5, including the dummy, to my 1 previous death.)

To be honest, I think the only reason no one caught on to it was that I hadn't used BBCode tags to hide/emphasize text in the dummy and first kill, so (apparently) no one suspected that there might be some in the second. I was a little worried when I saw that Loki quoted it in plaintext after the third kill ... but then I scrolled down a bit more and saw that you had already jumped on the OotS references. Which was much much much more worrisome.
