^By dead...do you mean dead...or just knocked out. Any idea whether the ones who are "knocked out" are completely dead or not?

You might have to start stabbing people that are already down.

Or they just want all of the commoners dead.

I'm pretty sure there's powerful magical shielding in place to prevent exactly that (and to protect the spectators). Witness, for example, that the dogs were able to teleport clear across the arena but, even when afraid for their lives (with good reason) they couldn't escape.

Still going to spend your action breaking the box? I would like a str check in that case.

Knocked out or dead, doesn't matter as long as they aren't moving. It's also hard to see if someone is knocked out cold or dead at a distance. Besides, NPC's are so easily replaceable that it doesn't matter for me who lives or dies :P
Killing all the npcs could be one way of going around it, but having all the players killed/knocked out would work just as well

I can roast some weenies next turn, if need be. But I'm standing right here and Karn is suspicious about this thing. And, much as he wants to be an arena champion, there's no glory to be had in trampling a mob of inexperienced weaklings. The whole idea is distasteful.

Strength: 1D20+5 = [16]+5 = 21

I'm thinking he rips the side off the box and hurls it to the south.

Viskek readies an action to attack anyone who might attack him, but otherwise stays where he is and will not attack.

Bort uses all 5 brain cells of his and tries to evade his opponents attacks for now.
Karn decides to showcase his strength as he rips off the wooden roof of the cage in one powerful motion that also causes the corners to collapse now the nothing is really holding them together now. He throws the roof south hitting the poor unconscious guy making sure he's dead.
Viskek gets ready to punch a dagger into the face of any that gets a funny idea to meet him head on.

None of the commoners get that idea though and just attacks the closest person to them, resulting in one unlucky guy getting a dagger to the face a moment before he collapses. On guy swings after Bort with little to no effort put into the strike.

Rez dismisses those around him and stalks NW, lining up three human peasants to receive the icy grip of death.

((15 ft cone, DC 9 CON save for half damage.))

Icy 15ft cone: 2D6 = [6, 3] = 9

He follows it up with a roar towards the stands.

The crowd cheers as the commoners that have all beaten each other up a little are frozen to death. Yet the masters don't seem satisfied yet and the battle goes on!

Karn growls. Nothing in the box. No challenge. No way out but inglorious slaughter.

He stomps north (and slightly east) across the remains of the box, takes a deep breath, and with a thundering roar, envelops the three surviving commoners in a cone of fiery death.

(In a moving car right now, so if you don't mind I'll leave the dice rolls to you.)

Shame on me for not updating it :lol:

Bort stabs the commoner to death crying out his distress as everything down here is just so cruel to him!
Luckily he's too occupied to see the 5 commoners on the opposite site of the arena is turned to roasted meat.
Spider or Thinks do you want to put the retarded Bort out of his misery or take on any of the others on your turn or just wait and see if the masters are pleased yet? :P

"Great show from our new fighters! They've shown us their meddle and bravery, not that it measured up to much if not for their sheer number! So fighters drop everything you have and head to the southern gate! So now dear audience I appreciate your patience with these lowly worms and we've prepared a special treat for you with the dreadful trio against a new creature we've dragged in here from the underdark!"

During the speech all the doors open again and a couple of guards enter from each door in full armor as a several young boys enter the arena and starts dragging people and daggers out of the arena. You get ushered through the dank corridors and led into the dungeons and shown to your new cells where a few of your personal belongings are. (a trinket or two and what's necessary to use class features)

you can talk a bit to each other in the cells while I prepare for the next bit of the game if your character cares for that. The new players/characters are in the same dungeon

Level up is just OOC after a long rest.

Yeah the cells are arranged in a classic prison layout with a corridor with cells on both sides behind iron bars
