Hahahah! Oh well. I do feel like the power creep (or lack of it) is starting to show though. By next round, I doubt I'll be able to do anything much against the other players unless I get lucky and get something that can just wait out the majority of the round and hide until everyone else kills each other. I appreciate that this is a test game, and I intend to keep playing, but it is starting to feel a bit hopeless that I'll be able to actually compete effectively in future rounds if I'm stuck in the forest creatures monster set while everyone else is getting into decent CR scores. ...and yes, I fully accept that most of this is bad play choices on my part
Anyway, I'm sure you're aware of this already and probably have ideas for dealing with it but that's my perspective so far from the bottom of the heap

Well, I think there are two ways to solve the CR creep. Some thoughts of my own
1. If you are behind enough (set number of points) you have the an increasingly higher chance of spawning a flying creature.
2. Have a map that has features in it small enough to allow "small/tiny" creatures into places that bigger creatures have a more difficult time getting into.
3. (Favorite option) include a bonus lottery for a "known" high CR creature. (a creature which matches 2x the highest CR creature). So, how this would work would be, everyone has an extra bonus roll at startup, that Spider does, like 1d100, and depending on a range or random number that he defines, if you roll it, you win the lotto and win that creature. Additionally, the further away from the creatures CR you are, the more "chances/rolls" you have at winning the creature.

Well, not dying first gives me CR2, so hopefully I'll be able to provide actual aid next round.

Twice the highest CR would probably be a bit much. When that's just a CR 2 monster it's manageable, but now it's CR4, and soon it'd be CR6, exponentially getting more impossible to beat, so actually getting that creature would effectively just give the person max points.

The Brown Bear turns on the Animated Armor, trying in vain bite or claw it, its teeth and claws just scraping on the armored surface without catching hold.

The War Horse Skele glares at the bear trying to claw the armor from its back.
War Horse hooves: 1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18
Hooves damage: 2D6+4 = [1, 3]+4 = 8
It turns and promptly tramples the poor bear into the dirt.
If movement is still available, the skelehorse will start moving in a line to wind up just west of the center post in the pink zone.

The Warhorse finishes off the bear, and as it puffs into smoke, heads west, though it isn't able to get around the central obelisk just yet.
The Animated Armor is up, but senses nothing within its blindsight radius.
