True, though I'd say your spirit essence would be enough to override this, as it could override other things that may not be realistic given the nature of the creatures you're inhabiting.

I would say in this particular instance, since the armor is unaligned, it shouldn't be a major issue. And I do recall that in the recruitment phase that alliances were discussed as a legitimate strategy. Given that there are several CR 1's on the field, my CR 1/2 allying with one or more others shouldn't be too surprising. It's not quite coat tailing in this instance since Burns gets some additional benefits for as long as the alliance lasts (probably until something cuts me out from underneath him ;) ). And if somehow we make it to the end, well his was the most likely to take mine apart at the seams anyway.

I guess I wasn't sure how much of our "spirit selves" was identifiable on the field, so I've been sort of assuming that we are basically the creatures we are inhabiting (with ALL the stats that goes with it) and that what we see in terms of creatures is all that we see (ie we don't necessarily know which spirit is in which body until it puffs away).

That's how I played the last round anyway, but it seems to not be how the rest of you are playing (which isn't a complaint or an excuse, just a comment). So where's the meta-knowledge line? Should we just ignore all stats except attacks and play like we're omniscient?

oh look...we were waiting on me this whole time.

The yellow spirit again tries to hide. (Sneak) SVM and Burns can't truly see me, and theis is nowhere to be seen.

I'd say the meta-knowledge line from my perspective would be acting on things that you'd have to be intimately familiar with someone else's stat block in order to know.

((I got the impression that one of the things we were doing is sort of play testing the combat mechanics of the monsters. I've basically been treating my characters as "possessed" with possibly some influence from the host. I'm pretty sure Spider may get some ideas for NPCs from how some of this turns out. ))

Actually.. Let's stop this right now to prevent him from getting any good ideas :paranoia:

I've been going with a bit of both. Same species is my immediate go to as an alliance and I guess whoever has the most hp and need help to lure other players to him for the first round :p

If anybody's inspired to create an demon which spends its days protecting cats then I don't think we should be preventing it at all.

The Warhorse Skeleton approaches the Animated Armor, and bids it to climb aboard.

The Animated Armor complies, creaking into position atop its skeletal steed.

The Satyr draws and looses an arrow, the shaft burying itself in the Brown Bear's furry hide. The red tiles reset.

The golden tinted Thri-Kreen seems to have gone missing.

Theis the Thri-Kreen is up!

If Theis has moved.
The brown bear. Wanting to get to the elk, realizes that it mist go trough the Satyr first. And since the satyr seems hostile anyways it moves to it and claws and bites at it with its 5ft reach..

Bite attack: 1D20+5 = [16]+5 = 21 and Bite damage: 1D8+4 = [8]+4 = 12
Claw attack: 1D20+5 = [15]+5 = 20 and Claw damage: 2D6+4 = [5, 5]+4 = 14
A full 26 damage to dlover... Damn...

Pff, sorry? Dude, even going out first I'll still be one of the frontrunners next round. I'd have liked to go out second at least, to get a 2CR creature, but there's no helping it.

The sneaky Thri-Kreen goes somewhere.

The Brown Bear, irritated by the Satyr being in the way, mauls the heck out of the goat man.

SVM the Gray Ooze is up!

Unsure what to do next, apparently all by its lonesome, the Ooze carefully oozes south 10 feet (taking the Dodge action).

The elk snorts, and moves 40 feet in whatever direction takes it furthest from the bear then dodges.
