Syli steadies herself and channels her fear through anger into determination and resolve.

The shadows and shapes dance around the edge of her vision. You think you catch a glimpse of the pale thing ahead of you again, but it vanishes so quickly it could have just been a trick of the light...

But, you can be perfectly rogue-like without it so whatever you prefer. I've not played a monk, so I don't know how useful the level 20 ability to regain 4 ki points from empty is, but then again, level 20 is a VERY long way away :D ))
((It's... eh... Situational? There is a lot that can be done with 4 ki at that point... flurry, defense, step, throw missile, stunning strike, diamond soul to make saves... all of those cost only 1 ki each. Can also go invisible for a minute and have resistance against all but force damage - 4 ki. Can also cast darkness, darkvision, pass without a trace or silence, each costing 2 ki. However, I get all spent ki (20 at level 20) back after a short rest, so it's only useful in situations where there is no chance to rest and we are going from encounter to encounter, AND I've already blown through my 20 ki in the previous fights. I think part of the goal is to incentivize the monk not to try to hoard the last few ki, but to spend them and be able to get more if another fight pops off. So... has the potential to be a difference maker in the culmination battle of an entire campaign... but it's basically a low level wizard's arcane recovery for free. That being said, using Diamond Soul to re-roll a save against disintegrate would be pretty impressive.))

Gwen looks at the Syli and Mehriv. "It maybe trickery but we must be cautious. We must stick together and continue forward. And if it's a threat we will make them have fear in thier hearts and we will fight back. Or something."
(At least warlock 3 for me)

"...sure. Whatever you say, Mehriv. Best keep a weapon handy case the 'surroundings' decide to do more than toy with us." She says, before starting to move on again, keeping her totem at the ready in case of attack.

Merric will likewise try to deduce where the arrow came from and see if he can see the lizardfolk.

Merric will put his hands in the air and approach towards the shooter. He'll reach out with his mind conveying the same message as he speaks to make sure it understands him.

"Don't shoot, I understand you have doubts about what is happening amongst the tribes, maybe I can help"

Merric investigation: 1D20+3 = [18]+3 = 21

Varsk remains quiet during the exchange but loosens the straps on his maul in case whatever making that noise decides to try and take a piece out of them.

He isn't particularly good at watching the surroundings though.

Watching everyones backs: 1D20+4 = [6]+4 = 10

((Korrik and Merric, please give me perception checks with advantage. Merric, I'll also take a persuasion check (please roll twice)

Let's also roll initiative since a bunch of stuff is about to happen))

Kal: Initiative: 1D20+1 = [16]+1 = 17

Perception: 2D20.HIGH(1)+2 = [8, 4]+2 = 10
Initiative: 1D20+4 = [1]+4 = 5
Initiative: 1D20+4 = [20]+4 = 24

Certainly missing something, but I'm ready as fork after being initially distracted!

Merric is apparently standing the one place where the sun gets through the jungle foliage and is staring directly at it
But it makes him one charming halfling!

Merric perception: 2D20.HIGH(1)+1 = [6, 5]+1 = 7
Merric persuation: 1D20+3 = [20]+3 = 23
1D20+3 = [16]+3 = 19

Merric initiative: 1D20+3 = [15]+3 = 18

Neither of you are able to spot the lizardfolk, and another arrow whirrs into the ground at Merric's feet as he steps forward. It looks like this one came from a different break in the barrier and you both spot the gap it was probably fired from, but there's no sign of the shooter.

((Awakened mind requires line of sight. As far as cover goes, this guy has 3/4 cover (+5 AC) ))

Korrik is up.

Merric will stop in his tracks and look at the arrow. He'll smile up at the shooter before slowly trying to mime that he wants to see him. He'll repeat himself if he can see him, otherwise just smile and try to catch a glimpse of it.
