Lizard Group

Kal cautiously moves towards the large lizard, and tries to examine his injury. He can't see exactly where the blood is coming from, but the smell from the creature suggests the wound is deep in his guts and will certainly be fatal. Eventually. This is going to be a slow one, and the wound, if you wish to heal it, will require magic to heal. Even then, he's going to need time to recover fully.

Medicine check: 1D20+3 = [18]+3 = 21

The rest of the party keep watch. Birds chirp, trees creak and the occasional sounds of splashes or cracking twigs permeate the swamp. It's very hot.

Varsk gets Vaceran's attention and makes a calming gesture (palm down, slowly up and down). He will pantomime taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly until Vaceran starts. He will give Vaceran a gesture (two fingers to the side spinning like on a fishing reel) to keep on doing it.

Can't have him pissing himself before the fight even starts.

Vaceran nods and takes a couple of deep breaths to try and control his nerves. He seems grateful for the gesture and the trembling in his hands eases and he seems to regain some confidence.

Vaceran's Wis save: 1D20 = [20] = 20

Gwen starts to make muffled noises, making them seem like it is coming from the shed. It sounds similar to the elf.

Deception: 2D20.HIGH(6) = [8, 15] = 23

What the...okay so I did it wrong. It's 15+6 which is 21, not 23.

Syli continues to wait, watching the woods intently. She pulls her vial of snake venom out of her jerkin, preparing to dose the arrows with it should something move out from the woodsline.

The only healing I have is a couple of points of Lay On Hands. Does that seem like it would be enough? And, now that I'm closer, can I see anything more about which side this lizard might be on?

((Any healing at all would help him for sure. It might not fix everything that's wrong with him, but it'll help.))

Artho nudges Kal in the ribs and nods encouragingly towards the lizardfolk.

"I am fairly sure he's one of the tribe we're here to find. Not that that necessarily means we shall be safe if you help him, but leaving him to fester amongst the rats seems a poor death."

Kal will heal the lizard for 5hp and do what he can with the healer's kit.

When it looks like the patient is breathing a little more easily, he'll ask in Draconic "What happened?"

Varsk is getting a bit bored now. He pulls out a coin and rolls it across his knuckles a few times before making it 'disappear' and then 'reappear'.

Coin magic: 2D20.HIGH(1)+5 = [13, 16]+5 = 21

He gives Mehr a toothy grin and raises his eyebrows in mock surprise and wonder.

The Lizard Group

Kal moves slowly towards the lizardfolk, who growls deeply at Kal, but otherwise doesn't seem able to put up much of a fight. As the first few magical wisps of healing flow into the creature, it seems to get a burst of renewed energy as it grabs Kal's wrists before seeming to realise what is happening. With a look of some surprise, the creature relaxes somewhat and sits up, prodding gingerly and painfully at the deep scar that cuts across its belly. With a snort, it looks at the group, pushes Kal and his bag of healing herbs away and gets dizzily to its feet before staggering slowly towards the tall grass and the water.

It ignores Kal's question.

Chuckling a bit Varsk gives him the coin,

"The coin's magic. Sit back down and concentrate on it quietly for an hour an you'll learn all its secrets."

He will give him a push back to his spot to 'attune' the coin.

Merric will send an image of darkness with barely visible tendrils slowly pulling the darkness away to reveal the white tree from his vision. As they do he hears a voice in his head as well.

"Tell them about the tree! Water can wait and you cannot survive on your own now! You need their trust! Lead them there!"

What the other sees is Merric smilling innocently at the lizardfolk

Gwen continues to 'chatter' in the shed, starting to get herself ready for a fight. She grabs the moltov but does not light it quite yet.

((theis, since we don't have a lucky stat, roll me a d20 at disadvantage please  ))

((Burns, since Gwen is around the back of the shed (on the opposite side from the shed door), is there a particular trigger you're waiting for? I don't want to push their actions on too far without letting you act. To get in view of the door, you'd need to stealth down from the tree and around)).

In the house:

"What?! How? No! I mean yes, I knew that! I knew it couldn't have been you! You have no aptitude at all for the delicate arts..."

He takes the coin in both his hands and shuffles back to his bed to stare at it, muttering incomprehensibly all the while.

Vaceran looks concerned and amused and disapproving all at the same time, then goes back to just looking concerned.

((He rolled a 7))

Does inspiration give a lucky reroll? :shifty:

Merric not so much luck: 1D20 = [9] = 9
1D20 = [6] = 6

Gwen waits until they start making noises inside before she throws the moltov. (Waiting 1 min at most before throwing)

Varsk is pleased with himself. He wonders idly if Valemgadro has some assets he'd like to 'invest' while giving his crossbow another once over and making sure the poison bolts are ready.

He stifles a yawn.

((Varsk's perception roll not worth much inside eh))
