Warning! This RP is a survival based story and will have graphic moments that include situations with death and blood among other possible outcomes and descriptions. My players are well aware of this, though any who choose to read along, ye have been warned.

"Every choice has a consequence, good or bad. Sometimes we can't know which it will be until long after we've picked the path to take."

The morning air flooded with the scent of crushed vegetation; horrid sounds of trees shattered by magnificent force shook the air with a thunderclap. Lilly shot her head upright and looked around, desperately trying to locate the source of the sound, only to see the trees, grass and scattered sleeping bodies of the raptors she had found. The first few days in this world had been scary and exciting, akin to a dream that wanted to be a nightmare but couldn't quite make the leap; now she just wanted to wake up. Sleep forgotten she clambered to her feet and nervously swished her tail through the grass to try to distract herself from the terrifying sounds of the morning.

"Mommy, I want to wake up. This isn't fun anymore."

She chirped quietly. She missed her friends; the chocolate cake from her birthday she hadn't gotten to try; her soft bed with its giant dinosaur shaped pillows. School. As another vibration rattled the clearing she huddled to the ground and tucked her tail under her chin, trying to be as small as possible and whispering promises to never complain about having to go to school again if whatever was making the noise would just stop. It really had been a ton of fun at first, even if it had been weird to need to eat a little fuzzy animal to silence her stomach when she realized she was actually a little, living dinosaur; for once her love of dinosaurs wasn't getting her teased, but was instead helpful. It was a good-bad dream, she'd rationalized while gulping it down; a strange sensation to be sure.

Steeling her nerves, Lilly scrambled to her feet once more and approached one of the sleeping raptors, eager to no longer be alone. They were all alive, she was sure of that, but none of them had woken up yet. As she stared down at the still, green form it dawned on her she hadn't the slightest idea how to wake it up. Carefully she lifted a foot and pressed it against the raptors shoulder and gave it a good shake, though the effort seemed to have no effect in rousing the sleeping creature. Huffing a sigh she put her foot back on the ground and trotted over to another of the group, this time the nearly dark-red one, and repeated the process. She inhaled sharply as it stirred and hopped back a few feet, eyes wide with anticipation and nearly shaking with giddy happiness to have succeeded in awakening one.

With a groan it stumbled upright, shaking its head groggily and then freezing as it caught sight of its arms. Lilly grinned toothily as she recalled having the same reaction herself.

"Yay, you are awake! The big noises are getting closer and we need to wake up the others-"

She began to chirp out before it cut her off with a bark of laughter as it continued to stare at its body.

"Oh, isn't this just absurd. The bastards strap me into that chair and think they're done as they flip the switch. So mighty are they, and yet... here I am. Different, to be sure, but most certainly not dead."

The crimson raptor tossed its head and stared at the sky, mouth agape in a pleasured grin,

"I can just picture it now... they're all so safe now, slipping back to their homes and tossing me in some ditch, to afraid to even bury me. They should be; they'll all be dead come morning anyhow, so safe in their beds."

He snapped his attention to the now silent and visibly confused Lilly. The forest seemed to shake as heavy foot falls quickly drew nearer, followed shortly by a deafening crack.

"Boom! Fair trial my ass... or is it rump now?"

He paused and looked behind him and down his back before returning his attention to the little raptor,

"Yes, rump might be more appropriate. They took justice into their own hands just because they caught me red handed... well it was in that man's chest cavity so I guess that is quite the appropriate way to term it, though the room itself was pretty red by that point. Blood has a wonderful smell that's hard to enjoy when its all concentrated inside of people."

Lilly felt the excitement die in her belly sour into fear rather quickly and slowly backed away, nearly tripping over a blue raptor as something in her gut urged her to put distance between herself and the new raptor. She gasped as she tripped over another raptor, this time a creamy white one, and fell onto her haunches, legs tangled with those of the raptor she tripped over.

"See, I figured this might happen."

He stalked over to her, scarily adept at using his new legs and not fumbling around as she had at first.

"So i left them all a nice little gift, waiting for them to go to bed and toss or turn as the guilt just eats them up; I have no such compunction. They only think they know how many there were, so I left plenty of clues at each of their homes and a way to add them to the case more directly. I'm saving them, that is. The real authorities will just keep looking for me, now, and never find me thanks to those vapid...gift givers. Yes, that is ironic enough to be appropriate. They're my "victims" now, of course.

Lilly tried desperately to disengage herself from the tangle of legs, claws nicking her own legs and those of the raptor she was caught upon as he loomed closer, only to freeze as another thunderclap of sound drowned out all other sound for a moment. Splinters and sap sprayed into the air and an awkward bellowing cry announced the arrival of the source of all the noise: a massive stegosaurus and allosaurus who, judging by their wounds, had been fighting for some time. Unperturbed, the crimson raptor laid a clawed foot down on Lilly's side,

"I'm Gilroy, by the way. Sorry for taking so long to introduce myself; too caught up in the moment."

Lilly could barely chirp out her terror as her gut knotted up. She found it impossible to look away and kept her eyes locked to his as she did the best she could to not quiver with fear.

"I want my mommy,"

She chirruped, barely audible over the noise of the thrashing combatants.

"You want to go home, do you? Shall I help you along? I doubt anything else here will make it very pretty. A little thing like yourself deserves to-"

With a wet pop and a spray of arterial blood, Gilroy's head vanished from his torso. His body collapsed forward onto Lilly's, pinning her beneath its weight and covering her in blood as the heart continued to try to supply the now absent brain. As the stegosaurus swung its tail back over them again, Gilroy's nearly pulped head showered the other waking raptors in hot crimson as it dislodge itself from a tail spike and went spiraling off to the far end of the clearing.

With all that she could muster, Lilly screamed as loud as a little raptor could.

Brigitte rummaged around in the claustrophobic, pressing darkness - ass in the air and bare toes just scraping the warm, damp asphalt. She knew that pizza place used this dumpster, she'd seen the guy come in here only a few minutes ago, and she could practically SMELL the pies, but where were they? She shoved another black trash bag to one side and held it there, worming her way deeper with her free hand. Eww, soggy - don't think about what it is, girl, just keep digging - aha! Strong little fingers closed around the handle of an in tact bag and she dragged it upwards, feet scrabbling for purchase on the floor and eventually finding it. She straightened up, shook bits of cigarette butt and candy wrapper from her hair, and heaved the bag out of the dumpster. She undid the knot and peeked inside - jackpot. There must have been six or seven big pie bases in there, stale but filling, and what looked like half a salami that had seen better days.

Closing the bag up again, she looked around to make sure she hadn't been seen, and hightailed it out of the alley before anyone from the restaurant or the apartments came out. She only lived a block away, but the journey wasn't without peril. This area was frequented by gangs, patrolling policemen, other homeless people...even dogwalkers were a problem for her. She hoped that no-one else was around this evening, and that she could make it back to her spot in time for her meeting with Big Paul. He was an asshole, and he'd never made a fair trade in his life, but she needed what he had and the pies wouldn't keep more than a day. She smiled to herself at the thought of the particular product he said he'd be bringing her today. Soap and speed-stick, said he'd got it from the men's shelter. Pure bliss. She'd get into the bathroom at the Denny's and be out again before they saw her, wash up and get all this crap out of her hair. Maybe she should use their mirrors while she could, and cut it. The hair helped with the begging, made her look younger and scruffier and a little more helpless, but it got too dirty and heavy.

Just as she rounded the corner into the little dead-end road she called home, she felt a hand close round her arm. How? No-one could sneak up on her, she was too good. Cops? No, no warning, they always talk before they grab. Paul? He knew better than to touch her. She yanked her arm free and turned to look but saw nothing other than white pain and a burst of stars, then black.

--

Someone's touching you. Someone's ON you. Move. MOVE! Get your knife!

Brigitte lurched to her feet from the bottom of the sleepy pile, all flailing limbs and tail for a second before her natural balance kicked in and got her upright, legs apart, head down and little feathered arms up, talons flexing in angry anticipation. ...Talons? She felt them move, claws instead of fingers and toes, but the part of her that would register sensations was quieted and ignored by the part that demanded survival, demanded attention be given only to her surroundings and not her body. It took a second or two of backing up and trying to put her hands in her pockets before her eyes started speaking to her brain, telling her that there was no person in front of her, no would-be thief or rapist - just a group of dinosaurs. Groggy, blood-covered dinosaurs....and the littlest, bloodiest one was screaming.

Oh god, someone had spiked her food again, or stuck her with something and left her face-down in a corner paralysed and tripping. Worse this time though. Last time it was carebears and pretty colours for a few hours, and she woke up missing most of her stuff but relatively unharmed. This time it must have been some serious shit; she could've sworn she WAS a dinosaur, she could feel damp air on her scales and a faint breeze through her feathers. Alright, ride it out. Don't do anything stupid, don't wake up in a cell or a ward. Just play along, keep it calm, and wait to wake up.

Henry gets up on the curb, getting ready for his routine. He sets out a hat to hold any money that will come his way.
"Alright folks who wants to see some magic? Anybody? Well meet the powerful Henry! I come long and far, a mere few blocks away but for some that will be a kin to a mile, am I right? ...Anyways I am here to show you the world of wonder and amazment as I get something out of my hat!" Henry reaches into his hat and gets some money out. "Wait, no that's not right." He waves his hands and changes the money into flowers by a flick of his hand. "No, no, no still wrong." He gets out a card. "This will be your card keep hold of it, but still not correct. One moment, magical difficulties." He reaches his hand into the hat and pulls hard to bet out a set of rings that obviously did not fit in the hat as he got it from his cloak and using misdirection to make people think it came from the hat. 'There we are. But I think I can do better! How about a disappearing act?" Henry gets ready and quickly uses his cards to distract others as he quickly runs and suddenly disappears.

--------------------
He feels something step on him and he rubs his head, surprised to see razor claws. "Well I certainly was not expecting transformation in my act! It's okay, I am sure that I can fix this!" he is far less confident than he sounded however and not even sure how he got himself in this predictament, he hears very loud sounds nearby, which he is certian is not a car, he turns to see a giant tail bash into a creature. "But first lets abscond, shall we?" Henry gets up, unstable and starts running away from the giant.

Sam climbed up the ladder, prepared for his fate. He had done this routine once before, but that was with somebody he knew well, and trusted. This was a new partner. The two of them had practiced a few times, but this was a little more complicated. He reached for the bar, took a deep breath, and stepped off the platform. The familiar butterflies entered into his stomach as the air rushed by him. A song rang through his head, an old circus tune that he had made his sort-of theme song.

He flew through the air with the greatest of ease,
The daring young man, on the flying trapeze!

He swung a few times, gathering up height and speed. He would need the momentum, in a bit. His partner was swinging also, hanging on by her legs. They made eye contact, and he knew it was time. He used all that momentum from before to launch his body up in the air. He flipped once, twice, three times, and finally a fourth before reaching his hands out for hers. He had a bad habit of closing his eyes, right before being caught. He trusted her to catch him, he had to. He closed his eyes, and reached out...

He heard screaming. He knew he didn't fall, because he wasn't in any pain. The net would have caught him anyway. Did he hurt his partner? He was holding on tight to... nothing. Oh great. One of them must have screwed up. He opened his eyes and quickly joined the screaming. Before him wasn't his partner, his boss, any sort of crowd, lights, or anything really familiar at all. What was before him was a small dinosaur making a horrible noise. Right behind her was the headless corpse of another dinosaur, with a much bigger one, most likely the aggressor, right behind the two of them. Crying out, he jumped up in the air. He went a little higher than was expecting, and looked down. Instead of finding shoes and legs like he was expecting, he saw lizard feet, with their knees facing the wrong direction. He screamed even louder.

What's going on here!!!

Immediately as the darkness cloaked his mind, he felt awareness rise within himself again. Something warm splashed onto his face and a deep intake of air through his nostrils indicated that it was blood. Had Ragnar├Âk started without him he thought as his mind began to race as he heard screams and shouts. The blood started to cool on his face and began to drip earthward, the smell of it began to worm its way into his mind and stomach which growled in response. His mind immediately skipped to the grand banquet halls filled with his fallen brethren drinking from ale and eating the finest of foods. His eyes flew open and Bjorn found himself lying in open clearing.

Another deep intake of air and Bjorn found he could smell the fear in the air, which hung like a milky thickness over the clearing and it pulsed rapidly in tune with the crashing...

Bjorn stared speechless as the two mighty beasts were fighting at the edge of the clearing. Were these the gods in their natural form?...His fathers descriptions were so far from the truth.

As he struggled to his legs, which was more difficult than it had ever been before, he looked down and saw two long legs of a kind he had never seen before. His arms too were not normal and as he looked around the clearing he found himself surrounded by more things which looked similar to himself but were of a variety of colors.

His human mind began to panic a bit, but something in the animals instinct calmed him so that his outward reaction appeared to be twitchy and confused, looking about left and right as if caught between running or staying.

"What is this?" he asks, to both himself and the others who looked like him.

Lauren sat on the lid of the toilet, her knees pulled to her chest, her arms wrapped around them, her forehead resting upon them, her irregular going breath sending wave after wave of shaking through her body as she cried softly.
One hand loosely held onto a pregnancy test before it clattered to the ground; it was positive.
It can't be. It shouldn't be. Why is this happening? Lauren's thoughts repeated over and over again while a smaller part of her mind raced back to the events that had lead to her current situation.

Two weeks ago, her parents - who were both dentist - had this international congress or whatever to go, where dentists from all over the world would talk about new cleaning techniques, alternative filling materials and whatnot, to Lauren it wasn't all that interesting after all, except for the fact that it meant that her parents would go to London for this and left her in the care of her older brother, Benjamin.

Before the big trip the parents gave both of their children the usual speech and instructions about what they were and were not supposed to do and reminded them to be responsible and all that. Lauren used her well trained "attentive face" on them, to look like she was listening while her mind was hard at work, trying to figure out a way how to get rid of Benjamin, because she had promised to Jacob that she would figure out something for him to come over and be alone with him for some time.

She bid mom and dad a fond farewell, hugs and kisses were exchanged and then they were gone. Lauren was about to put her Impromptu plan into action, when Benjamin - to her complete surprise - pulled out an overnight bag from behind the sofa - how cunning of him to hide it so close at the risk of one of the parents to discover it - and with a boyishly careless grin said to her "So long, sis. See you in two days. Don't do anything stupid."

Her bafflement quickly turned into pleasant acceptance, and she didn't even care where he would be spending the weekend. The less she was involved and the less she knew about it, the less she could be pulled into any mess or punishment if Benjamin would get caught. On top of that, she and Jacob would be completely alone and undisturbed for two whole days - safe any annoying neighbors would come over. A broad grin dawned on her own face at that thought. "Have a great time, Benjy, and make sure you're back safe and sound and most importantly ON TIME." she teased her big brother a little, because he was constantly too late to everywhere he was expected.

A phone call and about an hour later, Jacob arrived and they had spend a wonderful time together, kissing and petting and ... more, all weekend long. The first time had been a bit painful for Lauren initially, but that sensation soon made room for much more pleasant feelings.

But... they had been careful, how could she be pregnant?! Maybe one of the condoms had been faulty. Maybe their inexperience had lead to them making a mistake when handling them. Maybe...

It doesn't matter how or why, the important thing to find out is how you get out of this mess, a voice of reason in the jumbled mess that were her thoughts raging around in her spinning mind called out to her. ...because you can't bear a child. You are a girl from a respectable family, you get good grades, you have your whole life ahead of you. You can not afford to be pregnant right now.
And think about what Jacob would do. Remember how he reacted when you confided in him about being late with your period? He wasn't happy about that and wasn't afraid to let you know. If you tell him that you carry his child, he will outright break up with you, deny that he has ever been with you and try to mark you as a slut that has been sleeping around with god knows who just so he can get out of it. It won't matter that none of that is true and that you can prove with a DNA test some day that the child is, indeed, his. Your reputation will be ruined for good and your family will be disgraced in the meantime.

Lauren's body shook with sobs, as these words and the truth they carried sunk in, and she tried to clutch her own knees even tighter than before.

But... all of a sudden, there were no knees to clutch, at least not where she expected them to be. Her whole body was aching and she lay sprawled on the ground for some reason. She quickly opened her eyes, only to wish that she hadn't.
A steaming corpse reeking of blood was just in front of her nose, causing her to retch a bit, but she just barely managed to hold it in. Panicked, she scrambled away from it, on hands and knees. At least she tired.
Kind of sitting on her own butt while she flailed her arms and legs, she managed to get very little distance between her and the freshly killed creature, because her own limbs were all wrong. When she caught a glimpse of her own legs, the were long and scaly and greenish-brown with huge claws at the end.
Oh my gosh what has happened to me? This has to be a dream, right? RIGHT?! When she moved her "arm" to try an pinch herself in order to wake up... it was greenish-brown, scaly and armed with claws, too. And there were feathers at her ... elbows.

"WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE?!" she yelled, not even paying attention to how her own voice was a mixture of chirps and caws and guttural sounds, because something else demanded her whole attention: several nearby creatures that were all scaly, armed with claws just as big as her own, and most importantly, really scary, as they had their whole face full of long, pointy carnivore teeth, each of them as long and sharp as a dagger. Due to her outbreak, they were now all looking at her and, terrified, Lauren fell utterly silent.

Farah blinked as she came aware, unable to recall falling asleep. Yelling and crashing sounds threatened to overwhelm her as she groggily tried to push herself upright. Confused as to why even that was difficult, she looked down to a nightmarish sight; her arms were that of some sort of disturbing dream creature, hide hued with orange and white and terrible claws.

Was it that simple? It was just a nightmare shaped by her distraught emotions, then? She couldn't help but flinch as something hot and wet splattered onto her face and back, the scent of it urging her to get up, so up she clambered. The noise suddenly began to take on a clarity of their own as her sharpened senses took over; the voices became questions and screams of fear, all asking, to more or less the same degree, what was going on. She looked about as calmly as she could, unwilling to let her dreams unsettle her more than reality already had, only to find herself looking at other scaley creatures like herself.

"This is only a dream, a nightmare. This isn't real."

She barked curtly, freezing as the sound left her throat. Was that what she sounded like?

"Hello?"

She chirped. The question wasn't directed at any of the others, so much as to herself to hear herself speak again, oblivious to the battle raging nearby.

Ambrose snapped into consciousness as his hands flew to his chest, scrambling to check himself for the horrid wound he was certain he had just received, only to scratch at tough hide. Hide? He stumbled to his feet and looked himself over, shock barely registering as curiosity urged him to investigate whatever had become of his body. Was he in purgatory? Hell? Had he become a demon, then, for his previous life's wrongs?

The barks and chirps of others speaking up nearby, all of whom seemed to be in the same state of be-puzzlement as himself quickly tore his attention away from himself. Well, if this was hell, then perhaps he was supposed to be the leader. After all, he had stolen the pie from the bakery not so long ago. He opened his mouth to address his assumed minions and rather quickly tasted blood as something splattered into his jaw, inducing a coughing fit.

Instinctively he sprang aside and simply swallowed whatever had landed in his mouth as the spiked tail of the stegosaurus smashed down beside him and whipped away to catch the allosaurus across the jaw. He stared, now slack-jawed, at the far larger demons. If he was a leader of demons, than surely he and his new minions were only imps; these others were gigantic.

"Hey, all of you, enough questions! We need to get out of here, lest we become casualties of the struggle these two-"

He ducked as the tail swung back again, nearly taking his head off,

"greater demons."

Hammond lay still as consciousness returned, not bothering to open his eyes as only the stars and barren rock would await him, as they had for nearly 12 years. Perhaps the chamber was finally failing; the power supply would function for eons, but he had never hoped for the machinery as a whole to last after continuously functioning for so long with no maintenance. As hot blood sprayed on his side and the cacophony of sound from the goings on in the clearing rang in his ears it dawned on him that something very off was happening.

As he opened his eyes to grass, blood and monsters before him he scrambled upright and back peddled a bit away from the commotion. His eyes darted from each beast to the next, surprised he could make sense of their chirps, barks and shrill cries, though he was more impressed at how easily he had managed to get his limbs in order after such a long time in bio-stasis. A quick check revealed why; they weren't the ones he originally had.

*So, then, are we all like me, then? Human minds placed in the shell of fairy tale monsters?*

He mulled the thought over, ignoring another raptor as it tried to take charge while spouting nonsense about demons. What had become of his own body, then? This would require more thought.

Farah struggled to pull herself out of the dazed state of mind as the mother in her was drawn to the high pitched cry of the raptor trapped beneath the corpse of another. Confusion temporarily set aside, she shoved past the brown raptor, much to his offense, and began to try to haul aside the body.

"Calm down, little one, it'll all be okay."

She cooed, though with little effect as the panic'd Lilly clawed at the corpse's flesh wildly, only serving to spill more blood onto her hide. Farah yelped and stood back as one of the frenzied efforts caught her shoulder instead of the corpse.

"Could one of you help me before this little one gets eaten or stepped on by one of these dinosaurs? I'm pretty sure one of them is a carnivore and while I don't know any of you, I don't think there is another choice but to get to know each other."

They were ...talking? It sounded weird, but she understood it. Just another side effect of whatever she was unwillingly tripping on, she guessed. She'd seen her fair share of people off their heads on something on the streets - it had never really appealed to her, but she could see why they might like to block out reality for a while. The problems came when they started trying to act on their hallucinations. A guy she knew bit his hand thinking it was a burger, and that wasn't even the worst of it.

Still. If she was wandering around in traffic back in the real world, that was a problem she couldn't fix, if she did something weird enough to get landed in a padded cell at least she'd be fed and warm til they let her go... and she couldn't get past quite how REAL this all seemed. The other 'people' here weren't looking at her like she was crazy, or saying things that made no sense... they were all acting like they were sharing the exact same trip. She hadn't heard of anything like that before.

Some innate survival or pack instinct kicked in and overrode her plan to quietly think her way through this, and even while she mulled it all over in her head, her feet started moving. Her natural balance and agility served her well - she didn't even stumble as she stomped over to the ...woman? It sounded female, not that she was sure how she could tell...who was trying to interact with the small screaming one. Finding herself on the move, she looked up and spoke. "Alright, hang on, I'm-a comin'..." When the smaller one scratched the bigger one in her panic just as she got there, Brigitte snapped impatiently but not angrily at the desperate little critter, obviously not very used to interacting with kids. "Knock it off! We're trying to help. Hold still so we can get you loose or you'll hurt yourself."

She gestured with her little feathery arms at the raptor with the cut shoulder, indicating they should work together to move the body. She bit into the haunch of the downed beast and was rewarded with a mouthful of blood - weirdly tasty, but gross - and spluttered indignantly as she heaved backwards, trying to drag the corpse off the kid without getting in range of her sharp claws.

Lauren's pulse, breathing and her mood calmed down a little when she realized that the nearby beasts - that were very obviously predators - weren't gonna attack her and rip her to bits, but that they seemed to be in a situation very similar to herself and that she could actually understand what they were saying, and - most likely- the other way around, too.
All three quickened again when she realized how dangerous a situation she still was in, only she had assumed the wrong cause. With the other two - much bigger - dinosaurs battling so close nearby, it -would- indeed be a good idea to get out of here, wherever "here" exactly might be, like the brown raptor had suggested, even if he was talking about... demons?
Lauren shook her head trying to both shake off the dream - if it was one, as the orange one had suggested - and to shove any musings about demons and what might have happened aside to focus on the problem at hand - if it wasn't.

When she saw the two orange reptiles move over to try and help the small, pinned one, she cocked her head and tried to estimate the situation. She didn't really feel like going any closer to peril, but it probably was imperative for her own well-being that the two helpful beings would not get hurt - or more hurt in the lighter one's case - so Lauren for now decided to at the least aid by being a look-out and warning them when the combatants were dangerously near.

Between keeping an eye on the situation, chirping out warnings as needed, she thought that it would be so much easier to get haul the corpse from its captive if it was dissected, therefore Lauren experimentally scratched into the soft soil with one of the claws on her rather muscular leg, trying to see what they could do. Finding that her talon left a deep groove in the earth without too much effort from her, she subconsciously ruffled her feathers in excitement and figured it was worth a shot.

She moved in to where the three alive raptors were struggling to get rid of the dead one and said: "We're gonna have a much easier time getting this off of the little one in parts, than as a whole. Let's see if I can do this..."
Then she applied her claws to the hide and flesh of the dead body in an attempt to separate the leg - much like she had done probably a hundred times in her cooking classes with various kinds of fowl and rabbits - and after tearing through the tissue (if successful) gripped on the foot with her teeth to turn the bone out of the hip joint and pull the whole leg away.

Henry makes a wise crack at the demon shouting one. "I think it's called the Rapture and not Raptor, is it not?" He makes a nervous laugh and tries to help by pushing the corpse off. He tries not to think how he got into this situation, his mind racing. "Can you get out?" He calls out to the little raptor. He takes a brief look at his surroundings, looking more for the larger beasts and how close they are to them. "We'd better hurry, I do not think I like this crowd. They are going to close in shortly and I'd rather not be next. If I had my kit maybe gave em a bit of a show, but ah lets not think about that and get to running please."

Hearing the guy talk about demons kind of woke Sam up. I mean, he was obviously crazy, but so was this whole situation! And at least he had a plan. While everybody else ran towards the stuck raptor, Sam figured that one more person wouldn't do much good, so he ran away, towards the crazy guy, er... raptor. I guess. After running about 15 feet (much quicker than he was used to, he was excited to find out), he turned back. Everybody was helping the young one, except for one black and blue raptor, who was just standing there. Sam rolls his eyes, and runs back. He pushes the raptor away from the fight with his small arms, and he finally catches a glimpse of his own color, and feathers. Very light blue, almost like water in the Caribbean. He could deal with that, until whatever fever dream he was having wore off. But in the meanwhile, he started pushing the raptor just standing around. Hey, time to move! I know this is weird, but let's get out of danger before succumbing to shock!

Bjorn looked around, confused by all the noise and clamor of the creatures surrounding him. His throat felt dry, almost as if it had been eons since the last time he had held a mug of ale to his lips to quench his thirst. The realization that another mug to his lips and taste the frothy goodness wash down his throat and beard initially made him sad, but eventually angry. Why had Loki cursed him to this place, was it for some sport or rebuke against Thor. What, in all of his life could he have done to so displease Thor that he would be cast into such a hell as this. The anger within him seemed to align with the animal instinct within him, because as he became angry, the talons on his feet dug into the earth. His jaw widened to show off his toothy maw, and he let out a shout of defiance "I WILL NOT BE YOUR PUPPET LOKI".

He screamed at the sky his anger, but looking around at the others in the group, he noticed that one was trapped beneath a heavy load. This helplessness pulled at his heart-strings, just enough to snuff out a part of his anger. Angry that he had been cursed to this place, cursed into this body, he refused to let Loki kill any of these others. He set his shoulder and rushed at the body holding down the small one, tearing, biting and slashing at what held it down until it could was freed.

With more and more people joining the rescue mission for the little one, Lauren just yanks out the leg of the dead raptor and runs a little ways away with it still in her jaw. She doesn't want to get body checked by the red one screaming about Loki.

Seeing that everybody (and thier mother) are helping out the baby raptor, he keeps watch for the larger creatures, in case they get any closer. While doing so he tries to distract both the demon and loki screaming raptors before they harm the little one. "What is this about loki then? Is he some sort of demon? Priest, I think that rapture raptor may need some guidance."

Bjorn heard the comment from one of the raptors, but did not stop long enough to listen. Loki takes many forms and it was possible there was a traitor among them. He continued to focus all of his efforts to free the trapped one.

The stegosaurus bellowed feebly and slammed its tail into the ground, showering the area with bark and loamy earth. Both combatants were nearly exhausted from their battle and each bled from numerous wounds; there was no apparent reason what drove the allosaurus to push the fight so far rather than find easier prey. In an effort to escape, the great beast swung its tail once more before trampling off into the tree line with the allosaurus in tow.

Lilly froze at the stern words from the darker orange raptor. She nodded meekly and watched, trembling, as the other raptors worked together to free her by breaking the corpse apart and pulling it away. As the weight of Gilroy's corpse was removed she pulled her feet beneath her and shakily trudged over to her rescuers, bobbing her head in a gesture of gratitude before succumbing to the emotions of the event. With a chittering sob she buried her face in the burnt-orange raptors chest and cried out the ebbing terror in her system.

"I was *hic* alone! I just wanted to *hic* not be by my-*hic*-self anymore and then I saw all of you and knew you weren't *hic* like the big ones and then that red one-"

She rambled on, slowly quieting down as she vented to her saviors. Despite the events of the past few days, she found herself feeling far safer and content now that she had made some friends in the strange and unfamiliar world she'd ended up in.

Hammond turned to stare at the light-blue raptor as he walked in the direction he was being pushed and nodded stiffly.

"Apologies, this experience is a bit surreal and makes me wonder if my CboDi filter finally wore out; we look like old earth's fairy tale monsters, after all."

He motioned towards the rest of the pack as they freed the little raptor. He noted she looked rather horrific for such a little thing given how drenched in blood she'd ended up. The whole situation certainly felt like it was reality, though nothing had come close to changes this sophisticated in the gene wars; this only served to set things further towards fiction in his mind. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, opting to treat the event as reality on the off chance it actually was real.

"Perhaps we should join the others, then? Safety in numbers and perhaps a chance to learn more about what is going on."

Farah trilled her approval of the situation and began to lick the wound on her shoulder. She paused as she realized what she'd begun doing and looked briefly at the wound before shaking off the instinct and returning her attention to the raptors who had lent assistance. Many of them were quite a mess from the ordeal, and just a little terrifying as a result. Blood splatter on their bodies and face, dripping from the toothy gums of the three who had bitten into and taken apart the body. If things weren't already bizarre enough, the sight alone would have made her think a brutal murder had taken place, and that all of them were responsible.

"Perhaps, for now, we'll have a little room to breath and figure out just what is going on. Maybe start with introductions?"

She chirped an affirmative to her own suggestion.

"I can start, I'm Farah. Whats your name... uh, grey one. You mentioned Loki, So, are you from a germanic country, then? Norse background; perhaps Scandinavia?"

She grinned at him, no thought going into how her new appearance might affect something as simple as a smile.

Ambrose frowned as the other demons ignored him or cracked jokes about what he had said. How could they not take this seriously? Then again, they had all taken rather eagerly to guzzling the blood of the dead crimson one, if not beginning to eat him outright, he noted as he looked at the green one with the almost surgically separated haunch in its mouth. At least, aside from the little one they had freed, they had all not held back. Good, though something might have to be done about the little one, either by educating it about the expectations of this new life or killing it himself. Better to not garner the hatred of Satan in his own realm.

"Okay, fine, that works too. Are you guys all done or are we going to find out where our new lord needs us before he sends one of those lieutenants back to find out why we're dawdling. Come on now, form rank!"

He almost immediately regretted speaking as something thumped behind him, sending him leaping forward by reflex and letting out a shrill cry of fear.

The black form of a raptor popped into existence behind Ambrose and fell to the ground with a thump. It lay still, seemingly little more than a corpse until a crackle of electricity rippled over its body causing tapering stripes of grey to launch down its hide from each vertebra along its spine. With a choking gasp the body inhaled deeply before settling into the breathing rhythm of a sleeping being.

Very briefly, steam was visible coming off the sleeping form.

Bjorn stared back at the raptor that had addressed him. The blood from his efforts dripped freely from his mouth and claws. His animal self licked the blood from his face, savoring the taste of it and his stomach rumbled in reply that it would like more of this sweet tasty meat. With some effort, Bjorn shook these thoughts from his mind and focused again on the one that had addressed him. "I am Bjorn. Are you a shieldmaiden, what village do you hail from?"

Brigitte froze as the little raptor hugged up against her chest, unsure what to do or how to comfort her. She settled for awkwardly patting her on the head while she cried out her story, careful not to nick the smaller raptor with her new claws. "It's alright. There's lots of us here now. You're not on your own."

She looked around at the others, aware of the battle still going on dangerously close to them, and was just about to reply with her name and a suggestion that they back up a bit, when one of the ones who didn't help the kid started barking orders like some kind of drill sergeant. "Hey, Army. Cool it with the yelling. Don't see any soldiers here, so ain't gonna be no ranks formed..." She was about to continue giving him a piece of her mind about treating a traumatised kid like a boot camp brat, when he jumped and squealed like a girl. She snickered her amusement, but soon trailed off when she saw what made him jump in the first place. "What the fuuu--err, fudge? Is that another...us? Hey, kid, you said you were alone... did we all pop in like that? Like, is that normal or do we, uh, run away?"

"Hello all! My name is Henry! I am a street magician and I can pull things out of thin air!" a new raptor suddenly appears. "But I swear I had no involvement in that!" Henry looks at the new raptor and tires to wake it up. "Helloooo! You came from thin air! We are the Rapture Raptors!"

Well. It was a strange way of awaking. Or not awaking ? All the screaming made Katrina sure go back to the land of the living in haste. He (well...) rolled onto his feet and... Blinked. As much as a Raptor was capable of blinking. The newcomer was lean and gangly, a little larger than most of the others.

To her account, she didn't start to scream right away. But in an all-to-human-gesture, her jaw hang slightly open, while she moved her head around... Taking the environment account.

Talking raptor-street-magician.

Cute Raptor.

Elegant Raptor.

Old Raptor.

Strong raptor.

Shivering Raptor.

Little cute raptor, covered in blood.

Slashed bits of something which might have been another raptor only moments before.

And a scenery right of the jungle book.

She tilted her head.

"Euh. Thats... Somehow... Unexpected."

She tried to scratch her head, what did not really work - And made her aware of her new form.

"Oh... Shit."

Her eyes widened and her hands claws began shaking for a few seconds. But then she closed her eyes.

'Freak out later, Katrina. Yes, you can freak out. But later. Not now. Might... Kill you. Or you make the joke of buts out of you if that is some kind of high technological joke you didn't get. Yes, I know they are almost all covered in blood, like out of a psycho-film.' 'But i want to curl up into a ball and scream !' 'Not. Now.'

Strangely as it was, these inner dialogue with herself actually helped. You should always focus your personal madness inwards. Ahem.

One Moment. The raptors were talking ! She opened her eyes again.

"Euh... Hate to sound clich├®, but... 'Who are you ? Where am I ? I guess not, that the guys from the technological faculty screwed up, again...?"

No. Then she wouldn't feel like that. The crashes and sounds of BIG BATTLE brought her back to reality. She was screaming on the inside, but in this case, the shock helped her to soldier on. She most certainly would have a nervous-breakdown later.

Her feathers shivered, the tail (tail !) slashing around.

"On the other hand, maybe you can explain that to me while on the way... Eh... I don't know... Away from here ?"

A gaze to Lilly followed... (an a sharp-toothed smile). To the bloody hands claws of the others...

"Preferably somewhere with water. The smell of you people might otherwise lure everything around here close that hopes for an easy snack..."

This situation was so terribly nuts (Especially the raptoroid (raptorian ? reptoid ?) street magician), that it almost had to be a dream or some accident. But for the the tiny itsy bitsy possibility about this being REAL she didn't desire to be killed right away... Her words also weren't formulated as any kind of order, but as a well-meaning suggestion for group-survival. Without realizing it, Katrinas sisterly experiences had already merged with a new kind of... Pack instinct. Protect the pack, they are family, said the instinct. And family is the most important, said the human. Also, you'll be screwed alone out there.

Her gaze shifted towards cute raptor (Brigitte)... The gaze was... Gentle ? It pointed towards Lilly.

"Is your child hurt ? Can it walk ?"

Time and again, her gaze flickered to Henry. Her certainly managed to irritate her. That was, when she remebered, that he - if-so-strange - had adressed her...

"Uhm... Hello. Katrina."

However she managed it... She pronounced the "a" in her name more like in "water" or the "o" in "love", than in the usual, english fashion. For Bjorn, it might sound familiar, for the others... Probably not. She tapped from one foot to the other. The sounds of battle made her nervous. When would one of them have won and come back ?

'Oh boy, what a way to start your day... Welcome to Weird-Velociraptor-Ville...'

While running that little distance, Lauren had been both fascinated and annoyed at the amount of blood that had come gushing out of the body when she had cut the leg off. The rabbits and various birds in cooking class had never done that. But then again, they probably had been bled out to make them "kitchen-ready". They also didn't have any feathers (or at least the remnants of stock-buds) on them any more...
Part of her - most likely the human part - was disgusted at how the skin felt against her tongue and how the whole body part was still warm and twitching occasionally. Another part of her was revelling in the smell and taste of blood and wanted her to not just hold onto the leg, but bury her teeth in it, ripping chunks of flesh off and gobble it up eagerly.

She slowed and turned towards the other raptors when the new one appeared and there was more talking. She tilted her head and listened closely to every name that was given, it would be important in dangerous situations to quickly relay information to the ones that it concerned.

When she felt it was her turn, she took a step forward and said: "He--o, muh nahym ish..." she stopped in mid-sentence and carefully dropped the leg to the ground, in a way that it wouldn't get it too dirty or spill too much blood around. "Sorry about that. My name is Lauren. And yeah, I think we all could do with a wash-up. Does anyone know how to find water?
And..."
she turned to look at Ambrose, because his utterings had been the weirdest of them all - so far - fixating him with her piercing gaze out of watchful eyes "What's that about a new lord and demons? And what makes you think you're the boss of us, telling us to form rank?"

Farah gave Bjorn a puzzled look.

"Well, Bjorn, I am from no village. I am from the state of North Carolina, though, if that helps. I get the feeling something is lost in translation from our own language into...raptor language. I am a mother-"

She caught herself, realizing she had no way of knowing if she still was a mother anymore. The thought almost made her knees buckle, but the sharp scent of iron rich blood served as a brutal reminder to the world she now found herself in. Her heart would have to wait until they were safe; better to be safe and find this whole nightmare to be real than end up like the fellow whose remains were scattered about the space they occupied.

"I was a mother, though now that I am here I have to wonder if I will ever see my child again. I fear that doesn't answer your question very well."

Her attention snapped away from Bjorn entirely on reflex as another raptor appeared, seemingly out of thin air, and rather quickly sprang to life. Even as it began to chirp out nervous attempts at communication she found her own thoughts following that of the raptor who had initially helped her assist the little raptor.

Lilly shivered and slowly managed to calm herself as her heart was no longer racing from adrenaline and fear. The hesitant pats from the orange raptor may have felt awkward, but left her feeling encouraged and, as the raptor said, she was no longer alone.

"I do not know.. I found you guys all scattered here, asleep. I just... knew you were like me somehow. I saw another one awake but it ran away when I tried to go to it..."

She trailed off, feeling a little useless at not being able to give a better answer. The feeling didn't last long, however, as she quickly found a furious need to scratch at the caking blood around her budding feathers on her shoulder-blades, though the attempt in itself was futile as her arms weren't quite long enough to get at the offending location. Frustrated, she settled for scratching at her eye ridges as she quickly learned she could at least reach them.

As Katrina spoke, Lilly kept scratching at the feather buds and drying blood but managed a quick response to one particular comment 'Is your child hurt?'

"My mommy is not here, these are just my friends,"

She paused briefly before finishing the sentence as the truth of it registered in her mind,

"Now."

Ambrose gave Lauren a quizzical look, angry look; his embarrassment to how he reacted to the newcomer burned brightly in his mind. how could they be so clueless?

"Simple. We're in some layer of hell and are at the least some form of demon ourselves. Look at the lot of us, we are all monsters now. I can feel the need to slurp at the blood puddling at our feet like some primal need. I know I died; I felt myself split in half and WHAM,"

He barked loudly to emphasize the word, bobbing his head sharply for further effect.

"We don't even speak french anymore, for God's- No, he has forsaken us; Satan's sake. What else are we but souls converted to demons at the lowest ranks of hell's army? This is our reality and I shall not end up like that fellow for crossing a monstrosity we don't have the power to take on. As to why I'm giving orders,"

He drew himself upright and puffed out his chest, desperate to hide the wound to his pride,

"I'm looking out for my own increase in power, if I am so condemned to serve the devil, by leading you all up the ranks. By doing so, and keeping you safe and in check under my direction, we might all flourish till the time comes to wage war for demonkind rather than infighting."

With a finality, Ambrose snorted and cocked his head sideways as if to not take any response otherwise, though he found his eyes wandering to the ones he addressed, terrified at what would happen if he couldn't gain control.

Bjorn felt sympathy for the one who had called herself Farah. He knew what loss felt like, having lost his own family. Approaching her, he made to comfort her and his new body, reacting on his command, wrapped his long tail across her back in an effort to comfort her. "I do not know of this carolina you speak of, but do not fear woman, in time your belly will swell with children again to replace those that you have lost. Mourn their loss, but do not let their loss keep you from living." Bjorn does his best to smile, which ends up feeling like a toothy grin filled with razor-sharp teeth.

As he comforts Farah, he looks over to the loudest one, yelling about demons and other such concepts that he doesn't quite understand. What he does understand about the man is that he is being obnoxious and crazy, perhaps this man was the form that Loki had chosen to take, in an effort to lead them to their deaths. Bjorn was not so quick to take on the mantle of leadership and instead kept his silence and remained watchful.

Henry replies to Katrina. "Ah well...I have no idea where we are. We seem to be marrooned in a forest with giant ancient beasts of old. I doubt your tech guys did anything about this."

Henry barks with laughter when the old raptor gives his orders. "I can tell you that I did not die! I was simply doing a disappearing act and poof! Here I am. I think we should work together."

Okay lighten the mood a little

"However if power what you are after, then I Henry the Amazing and Powerful, should be in lead."
He says this tongue in cheek, obviously not taking himself seriously. He bows down dramatically to empasize this.

Henry sticks with Henry looks around, trying to hear for water splashing. "I think after we wash ourselves off and get to know each other at least a few more moments we should perhaps elect whom will be the leader."

Lauren shook her head indignantly at the sheer amount of nonsense the brown one was spouting.
"I dunno about the others, but right now, I'm more interested in survival, than in... power." she made a pause for effect, trying to give him a chance to realize what she thought of his ideas without her having to spell it out.

Besides, I'm not too inclined to accept leadership of someone who screams like a little kid at the mere appearance of an unconscious body., she couldn't help but give a tiny amused snort at the thought. Even the small light blue one seems to have more spirit than he does, she calmed down nicely and quickly while he still quite obviously got his knickers in a knot because we're not doing what he expects us to.

"What's your name anyway, oh would-be-leader?"
she repeated Farah's question, attempting to keep he voice merely curious and not mocking.

When she saw Lily try and scratch herself, but unable to quite reach, Lauren instinctively stepped a little closer to lend a hand. Or claw, as it was. Having seen what her talons could do to someone else's flesh earlier, she was extremely careful and made sure to move slow and let Lily pick up her intentions before actually so much as touching her. "Lemme help you with that. What's your name, by the way, I don't think you told us yet?"
