Re: The Sundered Way
Randy growls and uses the tip of a dagger to flip it out on the floor again. He takes a torch and relights it, then stands clear to watch. He'll keep refilling his oil flask from one of the unlit braziers and soaking the heart and relighting it until it's gone.

Re: The Sundered Way
As you flick it out, up past the flames, the oil soaked heart bursts into flames again scream-hissing as it shrivels into ash.
Upstairs, the sand left when Zihuassal fell swirls upwards, briefly forming into a sandstorm outline of the yuan-ti mummy before puffing into drifting ash. An echoing "No ooooo..." sounds to the room.

Randy will head up to join the others now that the heart is burned.

Maji stops when Holger tells him how the mummy is destroyed/comes back. He goes over to Coljin and helps him move. He would offer to let the gnome a badger ride, but he seems too sick. And he'd rather not have gnome barf on him.

Randy smiles. "I'm fine. It just took a little extra work to get that thing to burn completely. It's definitely gone now."thinkslogically wrote:"Did it work? And are you ok? You're not possessed by anything else are you?"

((Nah, Randy can't smile- He's possessed. We'll have to kill him to save him. ))
"Right... We ready to leave behind this hellhole, then? Once we're out and about, I can take a look at those boxes with my tinker tools, right?"

The only thing sick Coljin is focused on before leaving is making certain there is no ruby remnants or ruby dust left from the one laser trap. After that he is ready to go.

(Hopefully we didn't do anything that accidently opened the alcoves in the first level, otherwise we'll be fighting our way out.

Re: The Sundered Way
((You think it's possible, but would require splitting the party so someone is down below to rotate the column via the urn, and others in this room to see if the second passage through the column leads to another room... But doing so would expose the upper group to the green gas and the lower group to the pink gas. You have a sneaking suspicion that you really lucked it on the pink gas earlier... (Ie, I was overly kind with the advantage. ).))M0rtimer wrote:INT check: 1D20 = [19] = 19

Re: The Sundered Way
A thought does creep up in Ulmwin's head... And the "Ugh..." he grumbles makes more than clear he doesn't like it himself what he's about to say next- But he'd ought to throw it out in the group regardless.
"Look...I kinda want to just leave this place 5 miles behind myself- There's one more thing that we'd perhaps ought to consider, though..."
"Remember how the pillar can turn, right? And when we were below, at the bottom of the ramp, that turning it revealed the secret room..? What if there's another kind of room on this level?"
"Some of us would have to go down, while others would need to stay up here while we coordinate the turning of the shaft to see if the same passageway would expose something up here... And frankly, I don't think there's any treasure that could be in there that'd be worth it at this point, I've but one spell in me left. Question is, though... What if the whole thing downstairs was a decoy?" Ulmwin poses, gauging for reactions.
"Think about it- Put a decoy heart in the urn downstairs, make it look like you got everything... And even if he were defeated, most people would move on without being any the wiser, as they'd probably not think of it." he asks... Leaving out a sigh as one part of him really feels like they should make sure, while another part really just wants to leave.

Re: The Sundered Way
"Well, we can always check this room first to see if it looks like there are any hidden doors. We know what the one downstairs looked like, so if we find something similar up here we know it might be worth the risk. Not for Coljin though - we need to get him out of here first."
