"Don't mean we can't try an' avoid them. Gonna be hard to get off the road and pull the wagons in sand if it's in the way."
((How long would it take to scout how close to the road it is?
Isn't it still nightish?))

"Sweety.. It's night..
An illusion of that size is possible I guess, but it would be very demanding to create and keep up. Let's just continue on and if something happens we take it from there?"

Randy looks troubled. "Either magic or a lot of man power is involved then. We can try to make the run by it and see what happens. I'm a little reluctant to go far off the trail around here. There's no telling what we'd run into."

Re: The Sundered Way
(I just re-read and see it states, the tower lies adjacent to our path. I assume that means it is very close to the trade route. I was thinking it was a ways of the road....That does kinda change things)
Cojlin continues his long winded gnome babbling but ends with saying..."Let's just try getting past it and see if we can do that without trouble."
Though he knows at least one person in the party won't be able to resist fiddling with something or running up to it, or ....something. Coljin has already learned we have a lot of strong willed people in the group and plans just...well, don'[t usually get followed well.

"No...ain't possible. We were through here few months ago and there was nothing. Would have taken an army to build it, not even considerin' supplies. And those other folks would have probably mentioned it when we met up with'm.
Okay, lets stick to the road but probably should have a scout or two up front to let us know if things ain't right."

"Could be magic. I mean, not illusion magic even- Though if that's the case, I'd prefer we'd give it a wide berth."

Maji doesn't care what they do with the tower, as long as they do it soon.

Randy sighs. "I've got a feeling that Dornikal is right. We're going to have to scout it out. Myself and one other. I can scout forward and let the other one stay hid in the rocks. If something jumps me or something looks untoward, I can use the horn to alert the other person so that they can get a head start back to alert the rest of you."

"Let's use Ily then."
Nem will agree to go with Randy, until they find a place within 100 feet where they can hide so she can send I'll ahead.

Re: The Sundered Way
I forget if Ily can help or not, so here's two rolls:
Stealth (with help): 1D20+4 = [9]+4 = 13
1D20+4 = [14]+4 = 18
Once they're in a suitable hidey space, Nem will hunker down next to Randy and whisper-narrate everything that Ily senses out loud while her own senses are muted.

Re: The Sundered Way
Team Tess and Randy approach the tower, finding an out of the way spot before sending Ily on ahead. He can see a stone door with a large brass knocker, and some sort of placard beside it that he would need to move closer to be able to make out.
((While you're limited to the 100ft distance for active sensing, I'd say he's able to go beyond that range then return to report back.))

All right, let's give it a shot
Reading comprehension: 1D20-4 = [19]-4 = 15
Turns out he's a very smart weasel.

Nem recites the message to Randy and comes back to her own senses.
"Well, either they already know we're here, or they are happy enough to receive visitors. What do you want to do?"

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy grimaces, thinks a little. "Well, it seems rude not to accept the invitation, particularly since the individual went through the trouble of erecting a castle for our benefit apparently." He gives Tess a weak grin. "To be honest, if that's the case, I'm not sure I want to tick this person off by refusing. I think it would be prudent if only one of us went up and knocked to see if it's safe. You can stay back here and watch through Ily. If it seems kosher, I'll wave 3 times, then 1, then 3 more." He demonstrates. "Any other signal, run for it."

"All right, but let me tell the others the plan first."
Nem Messages Holger and Ulmwin to tell them what's going on:
"Were invited in. Randy's going to knock. Be ready for trouble and pread the word."

"Oh yeah, nothing could possibly ever go wrong with that. Why Randy..? Shouldn't it be the ones most likely to talk their way out of something..?"
