Re: The Sundered Way
Ulmwin would be wanting to move in the direction of the platform then, hoping to instruct his guards to do so- While keeping another vicious mockery prepared.

Re: The Sundered Way
Holger will take a look at the gizmos around him trying to make sense of them, especially if something is related to the portal and a way to safely shut it. Randomly shifting with the configuration of things seems like a great place to start.
((I assume this will take my action, otherwise I'll ready another eldritch blast))
Holger arcana: 1d20+2 = [4] = 6
Tide of chaos: 1d20+2 = [2] = 4

Re: The Sundered Way
Ulmwin instructs his guard to head to the platform.
"Ummm you sure about that?", they ask, eyeing Holger and the crackling swirl of purple energy coming off of him that is caressing the various gizmos and gadgets set into the panel in front of him.
Turn Order:
Dornikal (56/56) <--------------------<<<
Holger (25/33) (Rounds of Chaos Remaining: 8; rounds of 20 ft teleport remaining: 10)
Squad A (gnome mounts)
Squad C
Squad B
Randerwaith (11/37)
Coljin (32/32) (Conc: Resistance)
Squad E
Squad F
Anders
Squad D
Ulmwin (37/37) (Conc: Vicious Mockery)
The kid scowls at Ily, scrambles to their feet, and scales a different part of the building to limp their way out of guard's sight across the roofs.
You see that the kids on the street, or at least one of them, has stuck around, poking her head out of the alley.

As the kid gets up to move away from the balcony, Nem Messages him:
"You should stay."
Then she Messages the girl.
"I have a job for you and your friends."

Dornikal moves north two and throws a javelin at the tentacles.
Attacking tentacles: 1D20+6 = [18]+6 = 24
Attacking tentacles damage: 1D6+4+1D6+2 = [6]+4+[6]+2 = 18

((It doesn't since there is nothing currently to attack...))
((Still want to move 2 north?))
The kid looks around in a bit of panic at the voice, but with the guards continuing to yell at him, shakes his head and scampers off.
The girl similarly jumps and looks around her nervously, ducking back into the alley.

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal steps up and hurls a javelin through the portal, the projectile flaring with light, and the probing tentacles retreat with a gurgling hiss.
Holger has a series of red and white concentric circles apparate between his shoulder blades as he moves over to fiddle with the gizmos. A klaxon begins sounding from the panel, as the purple chaos energy tickles its way across the panel.
There is a slight sizzling hiss followed by a splash as the portal widens incrementally.
Ulmwin's guard gets him to the set of stairs leading up to the platform and swings him down, eyes wide as he watches the magical display Holger is giving off, and ducks down as much as he can.
((Coljin, do you want yours to have moved up towards Randy? As long as Randy doesn't move on his turn, you'd be able to heal him.))

Randy worriedly watches Holger's pyrotechnics and the results on the portal. He hesitates a moment and then invokes Protection from Evil/Good on himself.

Yes, he'd want to head towards Randy
On his turn he will heal the Ranger.
2nd level cure wounds for Randy: 2D8+9 = [2, 1]+9 = 12
(rolls for healing have been...low)

Nem rolls her eyes and Messages the little girl:
"You seem braver than your friends at least. Follow the cat."
Ily yowls from the rooftop and waits for the girl to follow. Nem similarly wants for guards to leave, then heads quietly towards the alley.
Stealth: 1D20+4 = [10]+4 = 14
(in case you need another roll)

Re: The Sundered Way
Junara splashes up next to Randy as the ranger dips a couple fingers into his components pouch that he's definitely had the whole time, bringing out one dabbed in powdered silver and the other in powdered iron. He swipes first one, then the other across his brow as he casts protection from evil and good on himself, shimmering for a moment.
Coljin reaches down and calls on his goddess, imbuing Randy with a bit of her divine blessing in the form of renewed vigor and health.
Anders stands ready to avoid anything coming through the portal.
An eyeball as big as one of the gnomes moves in front of it, sloshing water through. Ulmwin calls it mean names and it blinks in surprise, before retreating, the portal once again showing only darkness and a slosh of water flowing out into the room.

"Holger, got any idea what all this stuff is supposed to be?" Ulmwin asks, as he steps closer towards the panels himself... Staying as far away from Holger as possible.
((So, question- Is Ulmwin being a rock gnome and having proficiency with this kind of stuff going to have an effect? Or is that a "roll and find out" kind of scenario? I'd prefer to hold an attack ready if possible but want to know my options ))

Re: The Sundered Way
You immediately see similarities to the 'golem projector' that the party found in the Builder ruins. You're pretty forking sure that this is a ancient gnome facility, though the aberration portal, flooded interior, and fetishes of broken armor, weapons... and bodies are likely a much more recent, non-gnomish addition.

Nem wanders up behind the girl, and says quietly (out loud):
"So you're the thief that stole my gold this morning? Well well. I have an offer to make. You can either return what you took, or work for me until I decide you've done enough to pay off the debt. If you do very well, I'll even pay you more. How does that sound?"
